    The best video by far on remove and install on the 4L60 I've seen. Very straightforward, good lighting and camera work.
    Can the engine and trans be removed together?

    My Man! You are awesome! With your help I was able to fix my neighbour's Trailblazer. She is close to 80 and just could not afford to have her transmission fixed. Just wanted to let you know, I'm passing forward what you do here. All done on jackstands by the way .. Wouldn't recommend that for anyone. haha

    Hey, just wanted to thank you again for posting the remove and install videos for this vehicle. You saved me a lot of time trying to figure out how I was going to do mine. As I mentioned in your removal video, I'm doing my Saab 9-7x on jack stands in my garage. I'm in the process of re-installing my rebuilt transmission now. Needless to say, it's taking me wayyyyyyyyyy longer to do mine that it did for you to do yours. :o) As you illustrated in your video the yolk that bolts to the top of the bell housing can be a bit of a problem. For me, it was a major problem! Lots of swearing! I never was able to pry it out of the way enough to sneak the bell housing by. Not sure why, but it kicked my a$$!
    Long story short, I wanted to share something with you that may make your life a little easier and will definitely help the DIY crowd. I strung a loop of mechanics wire through the top left bolt hole on that yolk assembly and extended it back to where the parking brake control feeds through the transmission hump. I pulled the wire as tight as I could and secured it that way. With the yolk pulled back out of the way the bell housing has plenty of room to get past the starter and falls right into place. Once everything is in place you can then unhook the loop of wire and pull it out of the way. You were nice enough to share how to do everything else so I thought it was my duty to share how I got around that one major snag. Thanks again, your videos were a major asset for me.

      @@ltstransmissionhowto5158 You're very welcome! I was getting so desperate that I actually considered removing the starter and finally the light bulb came on to tie the yolk backward and out of the way. I'm old and fat so, rolling around on the cement pushing on the transmission and prying up on the yolk with a pry bar wasn't an easy task. :o) Take care!

    Just watched your video, I am currently changing the transmission out in a 2007 trailblazer and I am having one heck of a time with catching that bracket at the top with what I think is a coolant line. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I've already gotten it stuck between the bell housing and block twice now.

    • @ltstransmissionhowto5158
      @ltstransmissionhowto5158  27 днів тому

      It helps if you can pry the brackets up a little before you go up with he transmission. They’re a pain. You might need a long pry bar to hold the bracket up until you get the bell housing up over the starter.

      Are you talking about the switch on the driver side of the transmission?
      If so you need to heat those plug in real good. They are glued in. So you hear them and then wiggle them pretty good to unplug them.

    • @ltstransmissionhowto5158

    Install the trans with 4 quartz then add the rest after? What about the installing torque converter bolts on a s10?

    • @ltstransmissionhowto5158
      @ltstransmissionhowto5158  2 роки тому

      Yes just add the rest after. Converter bolts on an s10 will be about like a full size truck. I have some videos on those. Just skim through those and watch the converter bolts part. You will take the starter loose then the shield around the starter. Then you can get the bolts from that spot.

    Question for you.
    2006 Envoy XL DENALI
    About 1 month ago I was on the highway at about 70mph and was cut-off and had to slam on the brakes. The GMC started to make all sorts of clanking sounds after the incident. The torque converter was locked up when I had to jam on the brakes so I’m fairly certain my noise is in that area. The clanking is very audible at idle and while under power. When I decelerate the noise is absent. Does that sound like a Torque Converter issue? I at first was thinking it was my flex-plate but I would think I’d hear that clanking whether I was accelerating or decelerating.

    • @ltstransmissionhowto5158
      @ltstransmissionhowto5158  3 роки тому +1

      Well start with checking fuses. Sometime when you’re plugging up sensors it can shoot fuses. Then make sure the wiring harnesses are plugged in good. Sometimes they’re hard to get all the way plugged up

    • @ltstransmissionhowto5158
      @ltstransmissionhowto5158  3 роки тому +1

      Well I usually take the little cover off the small inspection hole on the bottom of the bell housing. I’ll stick my finger in there and if I can’t fit my finger between the converter and pump it’s all the way in.

    Im getting a knocking sound from flexplate and tc area when i start the trailblazer. I started the first bolt in the special hole like u showed. Flexplate has no damage or cracks. Shifts fine into all gears. Just makes a knocking noise tht gets louder with rpms and quieter as rpms drop. Im lost and cant figure out what the problem is.

    • @cordellragsdale9949
      @cordellragsdale9949 4 роки тому +1

    • @ltstransmissionhowto5158
      @ltstransmissionhowto5158  4 роки тому +1

      Well that is weird. I have had a cracked pump gear make that noise but it was in a 4L80 and a different kind of pump gear.
      I would look and make sure you didn’t get the bracket at the top caught between the bell housings and block. It’s happened to me more times than I care to admit. And those brackets are a pain to get where they’re supposed to be. Check that and get back with me. If that’s not it we can try something else.

      If it doesn’t engage in any gear check the fluid level with it running and then check again without it running. If they’re pretty close to the same level you might’ve busted the pump gear. It happens sometimes If the converter isn’t all the way in the pump.
