Took my wife to see her in concert at Wembley London back in the 90's and she blew me away. She sounded fantastic live. She done her full set almost 2 hours and as everyone was leaving the steward told us to wait in our seats for a bit. When the crowd had gone and only about 150 of us left she came back out and done another hour just her and her acoustic guitar. In my top three concerts that I have been to easily.
"You speak of my love like you have experienced love like mine before", Alanis is a brilliant singer-songwriter and i'm glad i got to experience her in all of her jagged little pill glory back in the 90's, love her 💖
@@sexysadie2901 It is a truly beautiful song with a sad back story. She was involved with a much older man in her teens (in her HBO documentary she mentions him as a pedophile) and must contemplate if this sexual relationship is his obsession with a young girl or does he love her. He is obsessed with....that is why she needs "a moment to deliberate".
This song is from the movie "City of Angels" with Meg Ryan and Nicholas Cage. One of my all-time favorite movies AND song, which she won 2 Grammys for. Thank you for doing this reaction, Dereck. Uninvited is criminally underrated these days.
I was the one who made the request for that song. I knew you were going to like her because of the arrangement they made and her voice. The album version is not far from that. Thank you
first time i ever heard this song, i was driving my car,,, and i wept.. mind blowingly well done and very naked delivery of emotion. requires multipe listens, or it did for me
Absolutely astonished that nobody has requested you react to Alanis singing " Mary Jane " it's off the album Jagged little Pill " again Dereck it's a beautiful song you will love "
She just released her new album, Such Pretty Forks in the Road. Such a great album. Try and give Reasons I Drink a listen, I can't quite guess what you'd think of it :)
This song was and still is a Pice of art, she written after a little break down that she had. And you can nottes the emotional liberation on the arrange. If you want to hear more Alanis, please hear Still ( it's my favorite Alanis song ) and the Supposed former infractuation junkie album . Saludos !!!
Beautiful song. I love the interplay between the piano, orchestra and the electric guitar. The drummer is excellent throughout. Her voice is angelic. The song is dark, but with a beautiful melody. Really magnificent.
The song was written and included on the City Of Angels OST, alongside Iris by Goo Goo Dolls. Uninvited wasn't officially released as a single in Australia but was all over radio.
Uninvited is for Alanis Morrisette that one stunning song that every good singer has in them 👍🏻👍🏻 it’s very haunting with the one note off key piano . Very powerful performance 👍🏻👍🏻
With Alanis, I think you could try to react to her lyrics too. She's a master in writing lyrics..and anything else fr that matter. VERY intelligente, humble, and an enlightened soul she is. I'd like to see you react to her song "Still". Those lyrics make me cry easily
The Jagged little pill album changed my life and I'm a dude. The music and lyrics are amazing. Let's face it, we've all been fucked up by a breakup and felt like we were treated like shit, replaced to soon or were replaced to early. That album really struck a chord with people and exploded. Also, I saw her in concert and it was one of the best I've ever seen and I've seen everyone from Garth Brooks, to beastie boys, to Paige and Plant in '98. So I've seen some great concerts and she's one of the best.
THE RECORD LABEL OWNED BY MADONNA CALLED "MAVERICK RECORDS" HAS (AMONG MANY OTHER ARTISTS) SIGNED TO ALANIS MORISSETTE FOR A LONG... LONG TIME AGO! (AND INCLUDED OF COURSE ALL THIS ERA, ALL THIS LIVE PERFORMANCES AND THIS PARTICULAR WORK AND ALBUM CALLED "JAGGED LITTLE PILL" BY ALANIS)
I was in middle school when they first played this on the radio.. talk about tingles bro, this gave it to me. I was infatuated with her voice especially in this perfect song.. this brings back mems, bro...
Great Reaction to an amazing performance. My favorite version of this track is the ' White Label DJ Dance Remix' Very powerfull and makes you move! Loved this at the clubs back in the day.
I love Alanis and I knew you would love this so it was a joy to watch this with you, and to watch you experience this song. I ( as many I guess ) have a long history with this song, back to City of Angels, and an even longer history with Alanis ( like we are best pals....... :) ) way back in the 90's. I have always loved and followed Alanis and I know a lot of people who don''t know her past her Jaggered little Pill, in my ope most underrated female singer out there. I have seen how you love to dive into your artists, so I hope you take that dive into Alanis land :) :) Her most current song is called Rest, it is the last song I listen to lately, headphones on, in bed, on the brink of coma...... but also in the day :) you could check it out. peace

Love that song! React to her song "That i would be good" MTV Unplugged and u will get 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
She wrote that song about a grown man who pursued a sexual relationship with her when she was a girl. She evidently loved him too. I think he took her virginity if I remember correctly. She performed it for "City Of Angels" movie. A great fit lyrically for the movie. Blows my mind that they only used it for ending titles.
I'm really not one of her biggest fans but this song and Thank You are two that I adore. You should check out that one as well if you haven't heard it. Also if you're in an 80's kind of mood I would like to suggest Just Another Day by Oingo Boingo. I think you'd like it.
She is fantastic! You need to check out Florence and the Machine No Light No Light LIVE from the Brit Awards 2012! Out of this world. This will turn you on to Flo!
I recommend you react to Shakira “Tu” (Unplugged). I would recommend you react to all of Shakira’s Unplugged performance. You’ll know when you know. She shows the true power of her voice and more. Along with some of her Arabic influences
I'm very sad, I asked you so much For Dereck to put subtitles in Spanish or Portuguese for the simple fact that I can not keep up with English, but apparently it was not possible is not even. In fact, this video doesn't even have an English caption. A big hug from the people here in Brazil who like you very much. ❤❤❤🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷❤❤❤
Hey Dereck - you should definitely check out Lisa Fischer ‘ How Can I Ease The Pain’ from 1991. The official video is great but her live version from that year is just outstanding. I think you will be so intrigued that you may follow up with her in the documentary ‘20 Feet From Stardom’. I highly recommend her.
Alanis certainly fidgets with energy while singing live but that's ok. In her non-symphonic live band versions she'd be throwing herself around the stage like Kate Bush in a temper. Its a fantastic energy and would make a great cover for a Heavy Metal band to do.
Hello Dereck ! Excellent choice ! Alanis is a great artist ! And "Uninvited" is my favorite of hers ! I highly recommend you "Mary Jane - JLP Live" : ua-cam.com/video/iZARf9Ptttw/v-deo.html Amazing vocals ! And you should react to "That I would be good - MTV Unplugged" : ua-cam.com/video/BWPlCep0lgU/v-deo.html She's such a great lyricist ! And the vocals are stunning too !

That's pretty damn cool.
Wow.
UNINVITED: lyrics and music by alanis morissette
she won two grammys for this song, best rock song and best female rock voice in 1999
And outside of City of Angels she didn't release it until her Greatest Hits album The Collection. I love Alanis.

I love her. Listen to "That I would be good." It's not one of her more popular songs but it has such a beautiful message.
This performance gives me chills and actually brings me to tears. I got to see her live twice in the 90s. She’s just amazing and so original.
Same 💜😍😢
Great performance. Plus her biggest fan in front row,Madonna! Who signed her on Maverick label. Alanis is such a talented singer/writer.
It is true what you mention. You made me remember the news when Alanis signed the contract under Maverick with Madonna

She is one of a kind. A truly brilliant songwriter, an amazing powerhouse vocal gymnast and a gorgeous being.
Thank you.., that you picked this song. It is the best ever written and shé is..., amazing.
from the movie City of Angels, , it's about a woman who falls for a fallen angel, a Nefelin .
She does justice on this powerhouse, yet elegant song...
Remember Madonna signed her under her label. Madonna knew Alanis was a great talented young lady.
