Hope you all like the video! Apologies on sounding like I’ve just ran a marathon, I filmed this in about 40 mins and there was a lot to get done 😂 Thank you for all the support!
I have a Puma ST and its a great car. I looked at the Gold edition but there were few stumbling points for me....1. You can't have the Panoramic roof as an option. 2 There is nothing apart from a few gold detailing that on the whole, cost Ford next to nothing extra to produce. Ford priced this £2500+ over the Puma performance model. I couldn't justify the additional cost. It's very nice and a great car but so are the other STs.
I agree,I was thinking the same, I prefer the puma st in mean green colour, just ordered one in mean green with the machined magnetite alloys and it will have the ford performance seats inside that are actually made by recaro but branded ford performance, should be September October time for delivery for brand new puma st 🤞👌👍💚🏴
@@johnwhite2143 Mine arrived in February and I love it. Fantastic red with pan roof and electric tailgate. I'm a member of the ford Puma forum...look it up as many guys are on there discussing their progress of build etc. At the moment it's looking at around 5-7 months. A long wait but worth it. I like the Puma, but that cooler box in the boot means there can be no spare wheel, even a compact one, so it is a hard “no” for me. I’ve had tyres give out on me just twice in my life, but both times they were at night, on a motorway, and in the rain, and both times they had to be replaced. The first time I called for emergency service and was told it would take 2-3 hours. I changed the tyre in 10 minutes and was on my way. The second time I never even called. My old car had a full size spare, which is ideal, but even a compact would do. I think this is great competition to the Cupra Leon and the GTI.
I’m sorry, but the Kona N doesn’t come with a 6MT, even in the North American and Korean specs. Only the 8DCT. The 6MT is only offered in the 1-litre 3cyl and the diesel, but they’re not sold in North America.
That’s true, I guess I’ve never had bad enough experiences to make me think I’d definitely need a wheel but I completely understand where you’re coming from.
Great looking car ,and great review and stunning looking girl too, just ordered a brand new puma st in mean green with the magnetite machined finish alloys, delivery due September October time can't wait ,one car that does be everything an looks beautiful too and quick and sounds great 💚👌👍🏴
@@AutoSocialUK definitely excited, but it be worth the wait, once I seen this puma st in mean green my mind made up it's absolutely gorgeous, definitely the best looking ford you can get in my eyes and I had a Mustang ecoboost a couple of years ago but wasn't practical enough for me, this puma st on the other hand is a car that does it all it's perfect for me and this be my first ever brand new car when it arrives 💚👌👍🏴
Great review of a good car. Ford have invariably done fine editions of standards going way back and most of them handled. Puma ST Gold carries the tradition well.
The engine might only be a little bitty 3cyl, but performance is quite good for a subcompact crossover. I also love the Gold Edition Puma ST. I saw one in person yesterday. And because of the 3cyl, it should get better fuel consumption than something like a Kona N, but of course, you don’t buy a car like this for fuel consumption.
@@guest5659 This Puma ST is rated at 42.8 UK mpg combined city and highway driving, but of course, it’s highly unlikely you’ll achieve that. The Kona N gets about 9mpg less.
@@AutoSocialUK I tend to be towards a more relaxing drive using an auto box with the torque with a big car like this. I'd definitely buy one with an auto I think
One high performance vehicle I think Ford needs to make is the Kuga ST. I’m thinking it should have a 295hp 2.3 litre turbo 4cyl taken from the Lincoln Corsair, with AWD and an 8AT.
@@AutoSocialUK I meant more the layout and design of the dashboard and switches Tish compared to their competitors i trust your judgement on the seats, Ford have fallen back a long way in my opinion always seem to be slow in updating their models.
Ford cars are cheap, cool, have great handling and have an optimal compromise between performance and fuel consumption. Me and other people don't care about overpriced living rooms on 4 wheels.
I think Ford should make a Küga ST with AWD and the 2.3 litre taken from the Lincoln Corsair. The Corsair is the luxury version of the Ford Küga / Escape.
I had a Kuga ST line plug in hybrid and it went like shit of a shovel. In sport mode I managed 0 to 60 in around 7.5 seconds. Ford reckon it'll do it in 9.2. Due to loosing my job I now have a 67 plate diesel Kuga 180bhp with AWD and that's almost as quick!
@@joshtaylor7881 yeah, the one you have now is the one I have in red. Bloody hell, for a big en, it don’t half shift! Wouldn’t mind an ST focus & reluctantly trading this in but the ride is far too hard & the wife ain’t gonna let me anyway 😂
@@PeterPan-oz4sq the ride on my ST Line Kuga (67 plate) was ridiculous firm. Fiesta is build in Germany while this Puma that is 97% a copy of Fiesta, and more expensive, is build in Romania. There is no rational to buy this over a Fiesta.
Ar least Ford's performance division seemt to still be putting some effort in - it seems Ford are on a slide everywhere else. Across pretty much every other sector, their cars (in Europe at least) seem to be utterly forgettable.
@@AutoSocialUK Agree Trish - they do have a big, grass roots following still, but I bet it's not for many of Ford's cars within the last 10 years. A car without a spare wheel makes me hesitate to drive it on long distance trips, it doesn't gime me the peace of mind. Anyway it's a beautiful car.
