They are protective but they abandoned one that couldn't walk well (it's doing fine now, it's the light brown one in the video) and then trampled another one, or perhaps another bird did, not sure but it didn't make it :( figured it was safer to bring them all in! They'll go back out in a private coop when they're bigger, then go in with the whole flock when they're fully feathered out :)

Omgerd babies. Some just don’t take to raising. My aunt had that same issue with some of her chickens
