Hey Everyone, I wanted to point out that the SPL arm shown at 12:17 is the incorrect part (too short). It is NOT safe to have the rod ends that far extended. SPL is sending me the correct replacement.
I love how you went the same road as me from replacing just $300 subframe bushings to full blown "since im here" now i have a $5500 subframe and driveshaft combo with everything solid mounted, spherical and adjustable, not blown tf out like before with stock bushings and stock arms with seized hardware 😂😂😂. Only thing missing at this point is the vts 4th diff mount.
@@WillsGarageOfficialabsolutely. How're you liking the kit so far? Any problems? I believe turner motorsports has the same kit. Would you recommend SPL over Turner Motorsports?
Hey Will, yes you’re doing some great work. Was wondering what your brake set up is it seems to be one of the most difficult parts of the M3 to upgrade.
Hey will make sure to change out the titanium lock nuts with some stainless steel ones, I have the full Spl catalogue on mine and I’ve noticed some bolts have gotten loose over time and I’ve even lost a couple.
@@WillsGarageOfficial Honestly I just picked up stainless bolts from Amazon that are the same lengths. You’re going to need 22 short and 4 1” 1/4-20 bolts.
Only one end has a sealed ball joint. The other has a rubber bushing. You can keep the OEM arm by replacing the rubber with a ball joint, but the SPL arm allows allows more accurate camber adjustment.
Please make sure you follow up with your impression after you get her back on the road! It's a hefy investment so I'm sure we are all interested to see if you notice a dynamic difference.

Becareful with replacing the rear trailing arm. Those are meant to bend during an accident to prevent damage to the rest of the suspension components.
🤓
Indeed, I wouldn't use that one tbh.
And more importantly, prevent puncturing the fuel tank
Was able to do the trailing arm without lube, but can relate with your frustration
Any chance you could update your video description with the SPL part numbers now that it's complete and the wrong arm was replaced?

Wow that's disappointing to hear but thanks for the tip! Any recommendations on where to get the stainless steel hardware?

The guide arms at 11:58, what is the use for? I ask because aren't the OEM arms also sealed ball joints with no play?

Thank you so much!! I really enjoy your thorough videos. @@WillsGarageOfficial
What press kit did you use? Specifically for the spring arm bushing (inner side)
Schwaben part# 024979SCH01A for everything in this video.
Can you run these arms year round (eg seeing some rain/snow)?
It won't hold up in that type of weather since the monoballs aren't sealed.
@@WillsGarageOfficialyes it will. They are titanium.
Did spl respond? Issues with the spacer for the inner arm bushing?
They said it's fine and won't cause any issues.
Hi! What trailing arm bushings did you use on knuckle side and subframe side?
Lemforder part# 3067901

For sure! It’s just taking me forever to put it back together since I don’t have much time and doing it all myself. Will keep you all updated! 👍
