I absolutely love my modded 3DS XL. I never had one growing up so now Iam able to play thru all the games I missed without having to purchase them, amazing. I hope at some point down the line Nintendo releases another clam shell design dedicated handheld.
Try it on a modded wii u! Can inject it into a DS title, and then you have access to wii u features like button remapping, pixel blur (I forget what the feature is actually called, but it actually makes this game like really nice), and save state.
i always find myself coming back to this concole to play games on it no matter if it is to play games i always wanted to play on the 3ds or if its to replay one of my favourite games on the console it is a fun console to play on i prefer the 3ds when it comes to easy to carry around when traveling easy to carry around and a big library of games good console to play on always for me
Modded 3ds is everything I wanted. Getting access to any game I am feeling like is sooo nice. Switch games are so overpriced right now. But the fact that I paid the same for my 3ds xl used with some scratch as a brand new switch lite is kinda meh. But this console has been going up in popularity like crazy lately. The 3ds xl is indeed way easier to transport and less fragile which I love! All in all, I'm excited to experience all the Pokemon, Zelda and big games I have missed out on.
3ds greatest handheld ever. would prefer an updated 3ds form factor over the Switch TV/handheld hybrid design (which is admittedly superior to Xbox/PsX). Wish they would just update it. the fact you could close it with one hand, both screens 100% protected, game paused, fits invisibly in your pocket then back to the action in an instant was genius.
People know that the Citra emulator has been taken down because it was made by the same people that made the Switch emulator. But what a lot of people are forgetting is that Retroarch still works with 3DS so it's actually not that big of a problem
@monikaguerra yeah i do 3ds on a android phone it's smooth cause it's a samsung s24 ultra but I do eventually want a modded 3ds to play different games with roms.
@@robmalcolm8042 yes for 3ds i think is bettere a new 3ds (games run at 60) for others plataform pc emulation is better but 3ds if you find a new 3ds a good price is sure worth
@@robmalcolm8042 for the other platforms emulation on pc is definitely better... but for the 3ds because of the two screens also and with the 3ds the games go at 60 (while the emulator is based on the smooth version of the 3ds) for sure if you find a new 3ds at a good price it's definitely worth it given the library and the support for the cfw scene
I got a "new" Nintendo 3DS XL from someone at my school for only 5$ since it was in cosmetically bad condition and he just wanted to get rid of it. It was originally black, but after replacing the outside top shell, outside bottom shell, and battery cover with red ones. So I basically made my own "custom" "new" Nintendo 3DS XL that is red on the exterior and black on the interior. I also had to replace the micro SD card slot and speakers due to the micro SD card slot being dented down and the speakers being busted, but it wasn't difficult to do the repairs and I spent 30$ to buy the parts. So I basically bought it for just 35$ after I repaired it, which was less than a quarter than what those go for on eBay! Probably one of my best purchases ever and I'm very happy with it!
@@Dreaming-Void it was an og. sadly, the bid went up and now it's 100 dollars. and that would be ok since i have 100 dollars but shipping is soooo expensive
Nice video, you gotta love the 3DS! One little correction though: the Super Mario 3D game is called Super Mario 3D Land (not World, which is for the WiiU and later for the Switch), and it's one of the best Mario games out there in my opinion.
I still have 3Ds games I got some good underrated gems like C.O.D.E Name Steam,Yo Kai watch trilogy,MH Stories which gets a Switch port later this year, and Puzzle and Dragons Z Plus Puzzle and Dragons Mario.
Nowadays we need to learn to make the distinction between "handheld" and "portable". Steam Deck, PSP, GB are all handheld, but Steam Deck isn't portable for example.
While you're right on most points, you're kinda dropping the ball on preservation. What you need to know, is that unlike most older cartridge based consoles from Nintendo, 3DS cartridges use flash memory. Why does that matter? Well older consoles' cartridges use "mask rom". That means: the data is actually "soldered" onto the cartridge. As a result, it can never lose its data. Flash memory on the other hand traps electrons in a grid, but slowly leaks over time, making it unreadable after several years. I've read somewhere that 3DS cartridges are rated to last 20 years. Beyond that, it's anyones' guess, but they WILL lose their data at some point. N64, SNES, or gameboy cartridges, however, will keep their data forever. (or at least for as long the solder joints last) So for preservation's sake, digital 3DS games are actually better IF you also back them up from time to time. (and have more than 1 backup). After all, the storage devices you'd use for backup will degrade over time too.
Maybe cartridges, but downloaded games are stored on sd cards which only loose their data if you exceed the write/rewrite capacity on the card, but if you just download the games and updates and don't constantly add/delete things from the card it'll hold that content indefinitely.
Always sounds stupid when people say Nintendo "abandoned it" they didnt. They phased it out. Ive been part of the 3ds community for the last 4 or so years. It definitely was never that massive(in retrospect ) until the shut down talk
Being apart of the ds community for the last 4 years doesn’t do you any justice considering the console came out about 15 years ago. It was extremely popular back in the day
Nice logic lol Many “paperweights” in game collecting then I suppose. Those prices you mentioned are for a loose paperweight too lol Hatin ass haterrrr 🎮💵
I have a steam deck . And in my personal experience. I been enjoy my modded 3ds a bit better than even my Nintendo switch 😂 I think $200 it still worth it if is already modded . Just because you have the entire library for free
This console aging like fine wine. This a premium console to play games from GBC to 3ds . It’s had a huge library
I have a modded 3DS as well. My problem since we have basically the whole library is i am overwheled on what game to play. There's so many games.
I bought a 3ds xl from ebay like a month ago, best decision ever.
Modding it is also a really good decision
I’d love to see a 3DS hidden gem video from you

Same!!! I love my modded 3ds!!!
I love how I can play Chrono Trigger on DS systems since they haven't come out with it yet on Switch. For me, it's worth having one for that alone.

Resident Evil Revelations ❤️
Still one of my favorite RE’s and worth buying the 3DS day one ALONE

Don’t forget to get Pretendo while you’re at it :D I think pokemon is on a high priority list if you wanna play online.
I have a pristine Minecraft creeper edition 2dsxl modded out with ps1 games. The steam deck has pretty much replaced it, but I still love it.

Fire emblem series alone is enough.
Low key crazy how accessible getting the games are.

My Steam Deck seemed pretty portable when I took it with me overseas.
Unless you were wearing JNCO’s then I’m pretty sure that you didn’t put it in your pocket. You probably had to put it in a man-purse.
I personally prefer to play pokemon games at faster speeds
New music?!?!
Everyone wanted them to stop supporting 3DS to focus on switch so here you go guys.
Not true
im here to say to anyone who doesn't already account won't be able to play other wise yes the 3ds is amazing
kid iccerus is amazing if only it dident break my hand to play it
