Mcwillams seems like he genuinely loves riding in all forms he is just as enthused about wheelies in fifth as he is s1000rr laptimes. Such a talented rider who never got enough credit in gp riding.
reeeally quality content!! just so fun to watch but still interesting and you guys just ask the question the everyday guy wants to ask and get the right people to answer them! just amazing.
I have had many bikes in my 40 years of riding and my 2017 Superduke 1290r is absolutely insane and i have it in street mode with wheelie control and traction control on, i havent even gone into full track mode with everything off yet no need its just that exciting and powerfull as is i mean it power wheelies in 4th gear what more do i need but its there when i want it and one day soon i will
I can't get excited about superbikes and other supernakeds when this 1290 thing exists. I don't care if it's not quite as good on track as other stuff ultimately, because it whoops everything else AT everything else, and is comfortable, gets decent economy, has fantastic gear ratios, never ending torque, doesn't get boring. I'll never ride on a track, probably, and I don't need a race-track motorcycle for the street. To get an idea how powerful the SDR really is, I've compared dyno charts and weight statistics with the Kawasaki ZX-14R. In spite the crazy power the 1,441 Kawaski chucks out, the 1290 SDR has a better power to weight ratio. Hard to believe, but true. Top speed? Kawasaki wins that with good aero, but who cares.
I have a second gen 1290 Duke. To me the figures are meaningless. It's all about how a motorcycle makes you feel. Cornering, brakes, acceleration, sound, the whole package. The Duke makes me feel mighty in a way my R1 never did. The seating position with the wide bars goes a long way. No motorcycle that I've ever ridden makes me feel quite as awesome as the Duke.
I own a second gen 1290 Duke. You get soooooooooooooooooooooooooo much quality motorcycle for the money. This is coming from my '05 R1. As stupendously fun as a superbike is, a hypernaked like the Duke just feels more accessible, practical and fun. It's real comfy for low stress touring, and transforms into an absolute beast on crack with just a twist of the throttle. It's an incredible amount of fun and satisfaction to own and ride a SDR. Worth every penny, even on a bike as expensive as this. Wouldn't trade it in for the world - Only the current Kawa H2 I would ever trade it in for.
Whose helmet was that on the table at 1:27 with the orange sticker on it? Was that Jeremy's? Would be awesome if he rode around repping JizzMachine on his lid, haha.
No that is little lame and i guess that is so expensive, then people would moan that price tag. Austinracing has little same looks, but it looks more that upper/rear exhaust. But i dont know why someone was not use test to use two separate austinracing exhaust and now i mean that lower set in front cylinder, then that upper in that rear cylinder.. Also you can search some logal metal worker who would make custom set for,.
bit of help please baron or fagan... ive sold my akrapovic limited edition RC8R (couldnt flog my McWilliams leathers though) and my S1000rr will be going soon too. I'm torn between an RSV4 and a 1290 SDR. Which would you choose? thanks in advance, best bike videos on UA-cam...keep it up!!!
+Dermymoto _ Thanks! If it's road, 1290 all the way. Bit of track in the mix, RSV4 no doubt. No matter what you do (unless you spend big bucks), the KTM is too compromised for circuit. RSV4 is epic all the time but can't replicate the brutal thrills of the 1290....
If you realy liked your subscribers, you two would chuck the day jobs and do this stuff full time.Realy good format "average micage" totaly hooked.cheers
+Jim “Badger” Bryce It is my full-time job (Fagan) along with other freelance stuff, and it will be BvG's once we start to make it work financially. But that's the issue - finance! Thanks for the support though
A 10% 20% or 100% throttle opening be8ng the same in the throttle body opening basically not being 1-1 means you twist the throttle nore than the throttle body opens done to make power delivery more accessible i suspect
The super duke and the MT10 are in my opinion the two best street bikes! Both are animals, fast fun as hell and dont break your back in traffic! Wait wait i have to admit the MT10 has the most uncomfortable seat ever put on a motorcycle though its literally that bad!!
+Hmm ”RS6” VTen It was meaning just he was saying, if that throttle would be 1:1, you cannot accelerator whit that power or torgue. Like when you turn that throttle one mm it start to speed up, now that is little softer. I mean that, you turn throttle more at once, it that would be 1:1, it would wheelie over
I'm confused, they have similar bikes and that's the closest it gets. You don't get RJ doing sit down talks about bikes, nor do you get him doing track days. They are just so different, confusing to see the similarities.
+InvisibilityComment just meant the super duke prototype and RJ now trying to reach the exact sound of the prototype on his bike. Wasn't meant as an insult or something. Sadly the baron won't commute on his duke...

good setup hypejob . i almost started believing the ktm lived up to the hype of being a beast wich goes to warpspeed in no time while driving like a supermotard . if you wanna do trackdays , the monster and aprillia both beat it by quitte a bit
Probably setup for storage and flying it back/shipping it via boat Remember flying you have to have it completely drained no fluids or even trace of fluids and no battery installed anti terror and fire stuff. So the work involved is huge.
I bet when Sean Emmett watches this he gets really pissed off and frustrated when he has to go off to work in a factory somewhere in bleak,dank,England....for shit pay!!Who is the muckspreader now?
Great vid guys. Every time you do a launch or test, please do an interview with an R&D guy like this. That way we can hear what they were trying to do and if you think they succeeded etc. If not it's just a couple of guys trying to make it to the big time by rambling on about bikes in a fantasy folly in Pontefract or some such scenario.
Amazing! Thanks guys! So many questions answered!! Ha! Seems like an amazing day and a great guy to have had the 'interview' with! Good work! 👌🏼
Great video guys. It was great to meet you both the other week, Jeremy McWilliams a legend!!!!
Mcwillams seems like he genuinely loves riding in all forms he is just as enthused about wheelies in fifth as he is s1000rr laptimes. Such a talented rider who never got enough credit in gp riding.
The guy is a living legend.
Great video as per usual chaps, loved your bike when I rode it Mr B and now can't stop thinking about getting one!
reeeally quality content!! just so fun to watch but still interesting and you guys just ask the question the everyday guy wants to ask and get the right people to answer them! just amazing.
Mr. McWilliams, we miss you dearly in MotoGP!!!
They made this bike for us big bore power freak that's been riding early 1980s, can't wait pick-up my new 2020 1290 Super Duke. 🇨🇦
The slope of that tank and upswing of the tail section match jeremy's skull and ear profile exactly.
Holy Shit!!!
Very informative video about the prototype! Great vid, guys!
Good insight into developmental process thru the current make. Decent audio...even with ktmjets in the vicinity.
Well done mate that was a great chat it could have gone twice as long
Orange is the new Black
Nice one man, looking forward to some more videos of that restoration project? Ride safe.
I could listen to them all day.
What an excellent video for an existing beast owner. Great job
Mega interview, love hearing how things get developed. Just wish I had the funds to buy one!
Hope you been saving cause the new 2020 they say it's the cats meow. I'm getting one for 2020, comfortable torque, what more can you asked.
Hey Chris...
+luke marshall Get your fat ass over here.
+luke marshall First comes the half-face reveal, then the half-name reveal. What's next?
+luke marshall some say he's a bit of a legend
Have a huge respect for Jeremy and listen to everything he has to say
Nice video, plus what a great interview and insight into bike development more like this please!
I guess he’s answered similar questions many times, still very interesting video and probably fun to do.
This was awesome video, we need more, more....I love that bike

HI guys, could you let me know what kind of map is used for the used exhoust system, because my KTM dealer doas not know what should use to my one??
awesome interview
is the Baron, speaking behind the camera?
just give us that face reveal already! we all know you want to. go on Chris, go on!
+Rage Quit87 well..
+cheeseypie5555 yea I seen it lol
What supension settings are he talking about ..:) Can you write them down here plz .
Great interview BVG!
when and how were you notified of this day as i own an April 2015 Superduke 1290r?
I can't get excited about superbikes and other supernakeds when this 1290 thing exists. I don't care if it's not quite as good on track as other stuff ultimately, because it whoops everything else AT everything else, and is comfortable, gets decent economy, has fantastic gear ratios, never ending torque, doesn't get boring. Hey what is the model of the exhaust installed on this bike?
thanks to jeremy for giving 44 teeth this cool content to show us
BRILLIANT Clip. Thankyou. Subbed.
Whose helmet was that on the table at 1:27 with the orange sticker on it? Was that Jeremy's? Would be awesome if he rode around repping JizzMachine on his lid, haha.
Question? Do you know what exhaust was on that bike? I love the clean look....
On the prototype it was a prototype akrapovic that wasn't ever produced.
I love this style of video it's awesome. And the bike!!!! That prototype rocked. And cool name
Suspension settings are under the seat? Not that ive noticed, or am i missing it?
On the eu bikes and special edition r yeah.
Another great video from 44 teeth. Keep it up guys.
Very interesting video - thank you!
Really intersting video, thanks guys
"Chris, well you're a bit of a hero" HA top bantz
Jezza is a legend nice vid lads
wheres the same vid about the 2017 model???!
Are those exhaust available as aftermarket parts?
No that is little lame and i guess that is so expensive, then people would moan that price tag.

Great work gents. Bike looks epic,
What about KTM 1290 Superduke R Special Edition vs Kawasaki ZX10R 2016 both...for street and mix of track...
Can someone explain to me why this guy sounds very similar in fact nearly the same as BaronVonGrumble?
Because it is?!
thankyou, I now know. Do we see his face in any of these videos?
And on that bombshell....!
Rapidly becoming my next bike. I'll remortgage my life for it. Speed Triple isn't enough.
+Rob Bown then get the fz-09 and dont remortgage
+Chili Powder MT-09 is nothing compared to a super duke and even an old speed triple would be about as capable as the MT-09
+Rob Bown Supercharge the Speed Triple? Not sure I'd want the extra power without traction control on mine though. Would sound awesome though :)
IS THIS BARON VON GRUMBLE?
+Madhavan Manoharan YES. YES IT IS
+44Teeth is this the duke u won in the contest?
ah, that's who he reminds me of. it sounds a lot like Mr Grumble!
It's Baron Von Tumble, his evil twin. ;)
great video gents!
holy shit.. Baldy is skinny here.. 2018 he is double the man.
R1(rn22) or rc8?
Is this BaronVonGrumble interviewing?
+Damian De Yezzir it's his 2nd channel
Leaving black marks, what's that about? Is that wheel spin, surely not a good thing is it?
Why does the prototype have two exhausts?
Maybe to look cool..
Why not
What a super nice guy Jeremy is..........EVEN though you kept interrupting him Chris??? :-(
bit of help please baron or fagan... ive sold my akrapovic limited edition RC8R (couldnt flog my McWilliams leathers though) and my S1000rr will be going soon too. I'm torn between an RSV4 and a 1290 SDR. Which would you choose? thanks in advance, best bike videos on UA-cam...keep it up!!!

+44Teeth ok, thanks for that! what about tuono v4 V 1290??
Please get both.
Austin Racing do an exhaust that looks very similar to the prototype, the GP1

+Jim “Badger” Bryce I believe they enjoy comforts such as food and a roof too much for that
+The Kruxed I do love me a comfortable roof ;)
I love 44 teeth too. someone but baron a gimbal for that cam xD
+Jim “Badger” Bryce It is my full-time job (Fagan) along with other freelance stuff, and it will be BvG's once we start to make it work financially. But that's the issue - finance! Thanks for the support though
Yes, it is indeed the Baron!
I wanna see al wheelie please Chris
Do a q&a
what do they mean by 1 to 1???
Think it basically means that the input with your right hand is not identical to the actual throttle response, in order to smooth out the acceleration
A 10% 20% or 100% throttle opening be8ng the same in the throttle body opening basically not being 1-1 means you twist the throttle nore than the throttle body opens done to make power delivery more accessible i suspect
Local dealer has 2 on sale, really close to putting a down payment on one.
Chris eh?
The super duke and the MT10 are in my opinion the two best street bikes! Both are animals, fast fun as hell and dont break your back in traffic! Wait wait i have to admit the MT10 has the most uncomfortable seat ever put on a motorcycle though its literally that bad!!
Love my duke, but I'm old so have the GT 🙂
Abit of a noob question but what did they mean by a 1 to 1 accelerator making it unridable?
+Hmm ”RS6” VTen
It was meaning just he was saying, if that throttle would be 1:1, you cannot accelerator whit that power or torgue.
Like when you turn that throttle one mm it start to speed up, now that is little softer.
I mean that, you turn throttle more at once, it that would be 1:1, it would wheelie over
Think it basically means that the input with your right hand is not identical to the actual throttle response, in order to smooth out the acceleration
amazing and dope bike!!!
Things getting pretty similar to RJs content...
Because rj does loads of track days
+ColorsOfMayhem
Hello
I must also ask, that RJ content is soo different, what you mean... similar??
I'm confused, they have similar bikes and that's the closest it gets. You don't get RJ doing sit down talks about bikes, nor do you get him doing track days.

It looks like they spilled the orange paint on the rear wheel
hi chris
good setup hypejob . i almost started believing the ktm lived up to the hype of being a beast wich goes to warpspeed in no time while driving like a supermotard . if you wanna do trackdays , the monster and aprillia both beat it by quitte a bit
This designed as a street bike (somehow) so that's ok
its being hyped as a beast who eats supersports , wich it isnt .
+wasn't me who says it isn't?
me . and all the tests and comparisin they did in that sigment .
If you think that pulls hard the Ducati 1098 makes 20 more lbs of torque.
i so want that....
awesome
Aw Crap, I tuned in just to hear "The Beast". Why couldn't you start it?
Probably setup for storage and flying it back/shipping it via boat Remember flying you have to have it completely drained no fluids or even trace of fluids and no battery installed anti terror and fire stuff. So the work involved is huge.
Too bad ktm doesnt sell the gas powered fork as a extra, i would buy it
Baron Von Chrismble
Chris Von Grumble
I bet when Sean Emmett watches this he gets really pissed off and frustrated when he has to go off to work in a factory somewhere in bleak,dank,England....for shit pay!!Who is the muckspreader now?
Jezza LAD! ✊️👍
Can you wheelie? I like that.
only bike to lift in 5th gear, pah, cr500
+Will W really enjoyed the vid tho
sxv550 husky 510smr lift on 5th
Vroom vroom! :)
Bla, bla, bla... Ride my friend.
Sexy intro!
yay first like SEXY bike though
Soon everyone who gets a super duke will have to be a sheep and get the same paint job . No originality in you ktm owners
BAAAAA!
+Eggy 750 Grease 1200 I found the hipster, guys!
Skip this thing breaking down every eleventeen miles and be like me...get an MT-10
This guys seems slightly arrogant
its bloody ugly
