Try wearing wrist bands with disposable hand warmers in them. A few wraps of clear stretchy sports tape can keep it all together. Bare hands in 15 degrees all day, no problem. What a beautiful LMB!
Love your videos man really help me out I haven't been able to fish much in the winter but when I can go I can't wait to try out all the tips. Waiting for your crank baits to come in to can't wait to try them out thanks for all the videos and tips.
Heres a like and a comment just for going out in that brutal cold. Brrrrrrrr 🥶 I work out in the crap everyday, but it gets below freezing my fishing adventures are few and far in between. I have been out at Melton HIll Dam fishing for striper 3 or 4 times this year when it was below freezing but I only stayed a few hours. Thermals, Carhartt hoodie, Carhartt bibs, my work jacket, and hand warmers in each pocket. I have a hard time doing anything when my hands are frozen.
Amazing catch Tim! I love these on the water videos. How about giving us a little extra detail about where you stopped and why? Looks like a main lake point but hearing about your thought process would be amazing! Thanks.
I've been catching monster striper on artificial and I can tell you one thing, they are definitely one fish that don't fight less hard in the winter time.
Great video Tim… congrats on the big’un!! They caught the first sharelunker of 2025 on OH Ivie on Jan 2nd… 13.13!!! Y’all need to come out and chase there!!! See ya…
Man that was a nice bass and ones like that definitely make up for a slow day. Only suggestion I have is getting a magnet with same rope you use for lure retriever so if a bait breaks off like that you can possibly get it back. I had that happen last year with a brand new Megabass spinnerbait and after a few tosses with the magnet I got it back. Might be more trouble than it’s worth but a lot in that A-rig
Tim im 15 minutes of cape cod I only miss December and January .I will be out in Febuary But the ice in the guides is the only thing that stops me.Its a killer in the wind.
The way that a rig bite happened is nuts.. hardly any sink.. imagine it was in under 15 feet of water. . Just lost a tactical crank yesterday trying in bitter north idaho.
I've put small amount of Vaseline on the guides when fishing in the winter up here in western NY to stop them from icing up. I know some who used chapstick too
Any advice fishing fishing a northwestern Carolina lake on a cold day for big stripers ? Only tried once before but temps were warmer and stripers were feeding heavy. Game plan this time is some 6-8 inch soft plastic swim baits slow rolled on jig heads. Fishing from shore, any advice would be appreciated
I see you wearing everything to stay warm which is great but how do you wear all that with a life preserver? I didn't see you wearing that part. Just wondering if you wear it under the jacket or out?
Tim, if you stumble on that deck and fall in without a PFD in that weather you could be a goner. I fish in the winter a lot with water temps in the low 40s and below. I always have my PFD on over my clothes
Please wear chest mounted cameras to help people learn the techniques. All we ever see is your back. Love your videos but take them to the next level. Thanks

These men moved to shangri La to fish where I was born in Tennessee. How many Giants are fishing there , A yeah A lot. A hear two shimmer because California has such pressured fish that the Giant bass BITE with kids jumping on docks, idiot type boaters buzzing around all day. But the giants BITE IGNORING IT . Enjoy them and you will get a short cut to a chslle ge you make up. Wow. I faced with Billy Westmoreland on Del Hollow. He caught one fish the first day at eight or nine on a crank, Hot Lips.

I would love to use baits like that a rig... But it's cost prohibitive because I fish in pickerel infested water and they ravage moving swim baits and steady/fast retrieve lures. Id lose 3 rigs before I ever hooked up on a bass. I have to use chinesium knock offs and cheap plastic rigs. They are fun to catch but every fish you are just hoping it's a bass.
Actually, an A-Rig is almost pickerel proof because they're never biting far enough up to cut the whole thing off... all the baits are attached to wire... essentially 150+ lb leader material.
@@tacticalbassin I was looking at them on line and came to that very conclusion! Thanks for the reply... I think I'm going to add it to my bag of trucks and see how it goes!
Glad you included the A rig flying off first cast😂 so real
LOL!
That scene help capture all our pain and loss🎉😂❤ Tgod For these moments 😂😂😂
I did this with a raid ghost wire the other day. Watching $75 soar into oblivion hurts your soul.
Not only can you talk the talk but you can walk the walk. You are tuff as nails. Great video. Nice fish.
Thanks, I appreciate it!

I wear under armour shirts as base layer and will take the sticky toe warmers and stick them to the shirt on bottom part of my wrist… it’s amazing
Huh?
That's a great tip thanks bud for that
Those hand warmers are great I also put them on my palms under thin tip cut fishing gloves.🐟on
Great video Tim, at 70 I'm going to have to wait till spring. God bless brother.
Spring's not that far away! Hang in there and you'll be back out on the water soon.

6:50 buddy thought he found a friend but it was really the spoon of death 😂
Great video Tim, love watching. Frozen over up here in Michigan. Can't do much bass fishing till ice is out.

Gotta commit, and no greater way than 20 degree boat fishing!! lol, Awesome job!
Surprised I didn’t see any flip flops!! 😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
SALUTE Tim! Excellent work and way to prep and be tough and resourceful in the harshest offerings from Mother Nature.
Thank you kindly!
Heck of a fish Tim !
Awesome catch!!!

That's great, nice work
Come home and new vid best day ever
I love authentic mishaps which happen to everyone. So awesome. Deep sigh moment. Lol
I have heard chap stick helps guides not form ice so you could try that next time awesome video as always thank for taking us on the water today
Well done!! 💪💪💪💪
We're all ice here in WV.. too cold for me. Loved your video ❤
Awe man when he said it was the A rig 😭. Rewarded in the end tho for sure
Awesome video! Glad you had a couple rigs in the boat!
It's always good to have backups lol
Great video Tim, looks like it's freezing out there 🥶👍🏻

We saw that too. Not all big fish are pretty, that one looked really clean.

Pro tip spray guides with rain-X when fishing sub freezing temps. Nice fish worth the trip fo sho.
I recently learned about adhesive hand warmers.
Great video. I went out this am in Va. and caught one decent Striper. I was out for an hour and came back in. 😂
Sounds like you're in the right place!
Tim and your real cadence you twitched the handle hard twice and she inhaled it. Twitch, twitch, boom!
You stumbled to get the net lol 😆
Good eye!

Drumcicle 🥶
That is a goodun for sure 👊😎
love it,,,,nice one.....
Congrats, she's a beaut! I used to see you fellas around the Chick...love to see the bigguns on video. 😎
Great job dude
Glad you enjoyed it!
The way that a rig bite happened is nuts.. hardly any sink.. imagine it was in under 15 feet of water. . Just lost a tactical crank yesterday trying in bitter north idaho.
Tim, there is a reel lube spray I hear being used to spray the guides so they don't ice up. You may want to look into what spray is being used. :-)
reel magic or ice off paste .. even pam cooking spray
Ggggggiant ! 9 pounders will warm u up!! Thanks bud 😉🎣
Tim, did you drive your boat and graph to see that big fish and then came back to scope it, or did you know the spot and just pulled up on it?
Nope! Never fished there before. I saw birds diving on bait so i casted across the closest point. Never saw anything on FFS.
Great video
We appreciate the support!
Awsome sause
A can of reel magic will help with the ice in the guides. Reapply regularly.
LOL!! That should have told you some thing. Matt's not even out with you on your boat. :-P
I've put small amount of Vaseline on the guides when fishing in the winter up here in western NY to stop them from icing up. I know some who used chapstick too

Step one check for ice on the guides after running down the lake, got it 😂😂😂
LOL!
Awesome
Tim monster fish. Rod question, when the line go"s under the rod and guides ,I have two broken rods Bad placing of the guides?
I think those heated gloves melted the flouro Tim.
What, no flip flops? What kind of bottom are you working the flutter spoon? With lots of wood etc., there is a tendency to loose spoons.
Can you guys share de-icing tips for your rods?
Just moved to Jax. Any tips for this area of Florida? It’s definitely a different world down here.
I see you wearing everything to stay warm which is great but how do you wear all that with a life preserver? I didn't see you wearing that part. Just wondering if you wear it under the jacket or out?
Spray your guides with Pam cooking 🍳 oil that's what I use works great keeps the ice 🧊 off the guides 👍🎣
My Toothy Fishman lure retriever has saved me many a lure.
Open water, No Fair!
Use baking glycerine for guides to prevent ice.
If that cable ever fails on that ultrex you're going in
Isn’t it a little late to be Little Drummer Boy? 😂
Thats sure how I felt most of the day!
You should add a heat gun to the items in the links below.
Is that Expride 6’10 ML XF a new Expride release? Don’t see it in the link you sent
Oh geez, you caught a typo. That was supposed to be the MEDIUM, it's a solid tip rod, and is unfortunately sold out at the moment.
@@tacticalbassinno worries! I’ve had one on order for almost 4 months now! Can’t wait to get it in
Tim, you are tougher than I. Blakemore Real Magic claims to help decrease icing on line guides. Please let us know the results if you try.
Tim are you wearing a PFD?
When I run yes.
Tim, if you stumble on that deck and fall in without a PFD in that weather you could be a goner. I fish in the winter a lot with water temps in the low 40s and below. I always have my PFD on over my clothes
Tim epic day and video 🐟🐟💦💦💦guessed 9.23 but her eyes were bulging out and hoped she was a 10 pounder 😎
Those eyes got me too. Ol bug eyed
Today I even beat the sex bots to be first!🎉🎆🤣😂
That's FAST!! 😂
I'm going to build a rod with built-in guide warmers
What state is this in
Tennessee
There a 35 dollar bill lol. I hate that in the winter.
Yep! 😢
First!🥇💪🏻🏆🎣
California?
Tennessee
Clip a cull ball on that fish so you don’t have to put your whole hand in the well.
