The Raiders were robbed of 3 rings in that stretch. The Siragusa bellyflop on Gannon, then the Tuck Rule and Gruden on the other sideline in SB 37. Amazing how some plays changed the history of this franchise forever.
It would be nice if Gruden could lead the Raidahs to the playoffs before they unfortunately move to Vegas. Speaking of Jerry Rice who was seen here: When Jerry Rice made his 1000th reception in 1996 he had more receptions than all the receivers on 21 of the teams in the league at the time. That my friends, was just how dominant and amazing Rice was.
This raiders team would go on to win in New England the next week 114-0, beating them so badly that Tom Brady, who threw 17 interceptions, and Bill Belichick were fired the next day, and never found another team to hire them again.
This was such a good team. No telling what could have been if they didn't get screwed with the tuck game the week after this one. Maybe they would have had a little dynasty run. Maybe the Patriots wouldn't have become a dynasty.
Maybe the Tuck Rule doesn’t ever happen if we were to win in Week 17 against these same Jets. We probably would’ve gotten the #2 seed instead of the Patriots. Patriots or Jets would have to face us in Oakland in the Divisional Round. Maybe the Tuck rule never happens, we face Pittsburgh, and face the Greatest Show on Turf in the super bowl. They would probably win, but winning that week 17 game would’ve changed NFL HISTORY
And they won on a miracle that at the end in week 17. That was rescheduled because of 9/11 from the start of the year. And the jets were terrible at the start of that year. It would have been a w. SMH.
I’d love if you did one of these for the divisional game at Foxborough btw the raiders and Patriots. Last game at foxborough, controversial call, and two epic kicks. Not to mention a giant blizzard.
HalloweenNight1978 yea man I think the raiders woulda went on to beat the Steelers but we woulda had a tough time stopping the greatest show on turf rams
@@dionr1168 It was a Rule Back then and it also went against the Patriots in a regular season game vs the Jets that same year. Raiders still went to the superbowl the season after and got raped by the Bucs
I followed Rice to Oakland and was a fan in these years. He still had it.
I was at this game. Funnest time I ever had at an NFL game. The Coliseum was rockin that night!
I was there too. Can't believe this was 21 years ago.
Same here!! My first and only Playoff game!
Forget Chucky, 39-year old Jerry Rice had 9 catches for 183 yds (20.3 YPC) and a TD in this game. GOAT!
Also he got a first down or TD on all 9!
He was phenomenal!
One of his most impressive performances.
TheLocalLt He was clutch in the postseason. Randy Moss is LeBron. Rice is Jordan.
@@travismcdonald6576 Facts!
Rice was incredible his first two years on the raiders over 2300 yards on over 170 catches 17 tds at 39-40 years old
The first ever primetime playoff game. This started the trend if Saturday night playoff football
Wasn't the Dolphins/Chargers game in 1981...the one many say is the best of all time, wasn't that played in primetime as well?
Nevermind...it ended up in primetime, but started at 5pm Eastern Time.
I was at this game, The energy was amazing. The raider nation was peak that day.
I miss my OAKLAND RAIDERS!!!
The Oakland Raiders!🔥💯🏈
💯
But you got a cowboys pic???
Oakland Vader in the beginning 😂👍
I was there! Man, that was a good 3 year run! Still believe we would have beat Tampa Bay with Gruden!

Why did you guys edit out Gruden saying “WTF is that?!!!?” That was one of the best moments of the game

Not at all, I was just relating a Jerry Rice fact.
Anthony Dorsett was a great safety. He was great at blocking field goals. RN4L!!!
Except for dat baad angle he took on Sharpe n playoffs
FOREVER OAKLAND!!
What a run by Garner!!!
I was sitting 3rd deck(308)corner end zone....Charlie was running right towards me on that gaming winning TD. Lost my mind right then and there.
This raiders team would go on to win in New England the next week 114-0, beating them so badly that Tom Brady, who threw 17 interceptions, and Bill Belichick were fired the next day, and never found another team to hire them again.
Jeff Hallada and the raiders would go on to win 12 Super Bowls in a row and built a new stadium in Oakland
@Jonathan Dee The One And Only the title belongs to the patriots! lol
Crazy how much bad officiating affected the Raiders and Patriot’s future
That last Run by Garner was PerfectioN! The Blocking as Well! Crazy to Think Rice was still carving Dudes up at 39 years Old haha 🤣
They'll never be the Raiders in Vegas. OAKLAND
"They're on to Foxborough.."
Triggered.
lmfao
@@1990Thunderbolt war damn eagle.
@@ericsigersmith6067 k whatever that is.
Never heard of the auburn tigers or the iron bowl?
Another awesome video!
This reminds me how many times the eagles Vikings and jets lost the Conference championships
Makes me sick to my stomach, that the next game the Raiders would be robbed and Gruden would be traded away...
Why did you guys change the name from NFL Vault to Throwback?? I liked Vault
Christopher Pennetta Vault was way better!
agreed
Who gives a shit, the content is great.
Lol. I see so many hits and tackles in this game that would be fines and penalties now. What happened to this NFL?
they wanted to reduce concussions and injuries to big stars
It’s a pussy league now
AC DC ya and you’re still around lol
Goodell that's what happened...

Gruden and David Dunn were the reasons they lost that game again the Jets!! Conservative play calling and muffed punts!!!!
And a year later he would be hoisting the Lombardi...for Tampa!
😐
Timmy got away with one.....

Damn man, if we beat the Refs in the divisional round, we beat tf out of Pittsburgh. If we played the Rams… probably would’ve lost but who knows.
Im a packers fan amd i think the nfl is better when the raiders are good....
Crazy to think the Raiders had two hall of fame recivers on the field at the sametime
Big game for Jerry Rice
Then next week, Tuck Rule Game.
There was a holding on that last TD against the Raiders
New York Jets was member AFC East Division 1970 through 1993 and Los Angeles Raiders was member AFC West Division 1970 through 1993 era
The Jets and the Raiders have been members of their respective divisions since both teams inception in 1960.
What????
Cameo from Dennis Miller towards the end
The Raiders won that game in New England too, we were just robbed
War damn eagle! Gotta love the black hole!
Please make a GSOT video
Tim Brown and Jerry Rice !
And then the next week started the greatest dynasty of all time. Raiders got to be a part of history😀
Oakland shoulda won the next week too vs the Patriots. Damn cheaters got bailed out by the refs. Smh!
HalloweenNight1978 yea man I think the raiders woulda went on to beat the Steelers but we woulda had a tough time stopping the greatest show on turf rams
HalloweenNight1978 the tuck rule was a rule
The pats got bailed out by the nfl rule book not the refs lmfao keep crying
2018 and people still think the pats cheated when the tuck rule was clearly a legit call lmao
it was a fumble and you know it
Imagine if football had weight classes 😂🤔
the Jets had beaten the Raiders the week before.
Gotta put up Peyton Manning’s first playoff win where he crushed Denver.
So this was a week before the Raiders being screwed out of a win and the start of a team still cheating and getting away with it to this day.
Yup
His TRUE last playoff win with the Raiders was against New England! Brady fumbled the ball!
Nope tuck rule was a legit call,Gruden took a mean L
@@dcollins8718Either it's a Raiders win or the game never happened because of the involvement of an asterisked coach and an asterisked quarterback.
