After Sanji's backstory, him asking Luffy the question if he has any idea what that is like having to lose a limb to save somebody's life hits SO DEEP which shows how similar their plight was to be saved by a father figure in Zeff and Shanks. Damn these onions. 😢
Taz didn't even get to be on screen for as long as the other straw hats (they all did a phenomenal job) but he did justice to Sanji. I loved every second of him on screen, hope this gets renewed for a season 2.
Mine also never watched One Piece, despite the fact I tried several times over the past almost 10 years to get her to watch it with me. Now we watched the LA (well, not entirely, we'll watch the finale today) and she just said "afterwards we have to watch the anime!". That's what this live adaptation does for you. For some it's a nice way to re-experience the story, for others it's just the beginning.
bro i cried like a baby in the anime. watch it there, the ussop, sanji, nami, chopper and nico robin sad parts you will definitely need a bucket for your tears.
Both Taz Skylar and Christian Convery (young Sanji) did such a great job of portraying the heart and soul of Sanji. As much as I loved watching Sanji fight, I actually enjoyed the empathic story of their lives better. And the conversation Sanji had with Luffy about what it means to be the Captain of the crew was something so enjoyable and not in either the anime or the manga (at least not in the Baratie arc). Though the Nami arc is always special, I actually found Sanji's story in the live action to be the most emotional for me. I think the Nami story in the Manga/Anime spoiled me for that portion of the story.
Originally I hated they casted Taz as Sanji because of aesthetic reasons. But the more I watched the show, the better Taz shines although he has the least exposure out of the 4 crew members, he’s now my favorite actor in the show. The way he portrays Sanji is brilliant, the charming smiles he uses in between dialogues, the classy flirting line he delivers and his accent that he’s using blends all of the above together perfectly. Keep it coming !
I cried when I read Sanji and Zeffs story in the manga, cried again when it was animated and cried for a third time when I saw it in live action. For all it's flaws they nailed that scene.
I read One Piece Manga since they first released it years ago. Always love Sanji from beginning, eventho he is playboy but he always treat women right, never use violence on them too. And he can cook anything eventho from leftover ingridients. I always ship Sanji and Nami too. I am 44 years old Asian woman btw 😊
My interdiction to manga was one piece when I was 10, I’m now 26 and it’s still my favourite . As well reason to keep watching , I cook as a profession because of him , as a cook of fish I dream of the all blue as well
The oregano bit, I'm kinda curious why they added that in. Depending on just how far this series gets into One Piece though, I have a personal theory why Sanji hates it...
To all Boruto/Naruto fans: It's good that you support your favorite anime/manga but plss don't ruin this masterpiece. One piece might be the only one who's gonna work as a live adaptation because the story telling is just too good. No shounen anime comes close with this world building, the only second I think is HxH
One of the success factors for One Piece live action is its global world, not only Japan, and also viewers who are hungry for pirate-themed films after the end of the Pirates of the Caribbean era. I think that even if Naruto was made as live action and worked on seriously, it would be because of the setting. the background is too focused on Japan, the success it obtains will be more or less equal to Rurou ni Kenshin, because the world where the background is only about Japan. One Piece can be considered an exception.
@@nekofreaksYes, that’s how I feel about it too - and I’m an anime fan who got into Naruto more than the One Piece anime back in the early 2000s. Naruto is amazing, but their world is mostly stuck in Japan. I feel like it’ll be like the Bleach and Rurouni Kenshin live action movies too. One Piece is set in a fantasy world unlike any other, with diverse characters on an adventure. OPLA feels so special and turned me (someone who tried getting into OP for many years but can’t) into a fan.
I know Nami's arc is meant to be the saddest in the erly manga but Sanji's always hit me harder. It's sooo good to see his backstory portreyed so well.
I finally watched the series and it was so so good. I haven't watched the anime yet but I'm currently reading the manga. I love the story so so much and the characters and how different they are. After Luffy, Sanjj is my second favorite character. Although all the male characters are so good. 😁
Taz does a great Job, a really great Job to Portrait Sanji, but I wished his Body would not look this buffed and big, but I don't know more like Neal Patrick Harris or so.
Dont hate me for this but sanji looks kinda old in the live action. He looks 30ish daddy dude. Its just my opinion though. And looks kinda bulky unlike sanji. Edit: im not saying the actor is bad, hes great and all but there are certain angles where i just see him as some middle aged dude.
The actors age and looks are young. But, the facial features with his definitions/ angles maybe makes his overall look a bit "older". He's super ripped too for the part. It's the chiselled look. 😂 I looked at Sanji references, and I think Taz really suits the part. His backstory and scenes with Zeff make me more emotional.
I hope he becomes the Sanji in the anime, where he turns to stone and bleeds out pervertedly when he sees beautiful woman. If that doesn't happen in this live action, then we're gonna have a problem, a big problem. As an anime sub fan, I grow watching them in their actual Japanese voice, and between this and the japanese voice, he doesn't come even close. The Japanese voice is more outspoken, provocative, and sometime annoying. The liveaction, seems like he's too soft and gentle even when he's trying to be annoying when he was pestling with Zoro during their fight.
Well as someone who not only watching but also read the manga, I have different opinion with you. I prefer sanji in live action like this, flirt and sweet Instead pervert and simper guy. In anime might be work but in real life he gonna be so cringe & annoying. I won't watching annoying & cringe character in movie or film. In anime I can watch it bcs it's anime, in live action? Nah that's cringe af. And that's gonna ruin whole the show/series. If u prefer that kind of character/anime personality then just watch anime. I say this bcs there already a lot of anime adaptation that trying to adapt anime personality into live action and turn really bad and ruin the whole show.
It makes the LA flow much better and make more sense. Since Oda personally lead it, consider it an alternate universe canon. This series has been miles better than other adaptions. Not to say it's perfect.
@@TheDarkLasombratotally, but he is not wrong either. I don't mind that they present the story a little different - it makes sense cause It's a different medium. I love that the production team and all actors can bring Sanji arc so impact and emotional

Don't wanna spoil much but Sanji always treasures food way before he met Zeff.

Yeah, but in a different way.
Sanji's live action flashback was the most difficult to watch but you can't stop watching. It barely edged out Nami's flashback.
Until u hit Chopper’s and Senor pink’s flashbacks, they’re gona be espresso depresso
I dont know why but sanji arc made me cry.. probably because its live action and its looks very real.. i can feel their pain

Sanjis Story and farewell scene with zeff made me very emotional 😢

Zeff did warn him "This is ALL the food we got" tho
He gave him all the food, he didn't say that there were some food on the bigger bag lol
