- During testing my Ford Escort RS Cossie V2 for Rallye Du Valais, my buddy and WRC (World Rally Championship) host and commentator, Neil Cole takes a walk-around of my Cossie V2 and I take him for a very sketchy ride up a soaked test stage in the Swiss Alps.

IF I ever got to ride with Ken Block and I don't shit myself, I'd probly be disappointed lol
"I think there's a corner here" would be my point of signing away my life
if u didnt see..he drove blindly into the corner. but probably only because he knew the track.
Yea.he's honestly a really bad rally driver. 90% Hollywood 👍
@@daspedal2730 LMao okay bud, he's a better driver than you'll ever be, and he's not trying to drive well here at all. this is purely for fun, he's one of the best drift, show, and rally drivers in the world, not to mention, this isn't even rally

Rest in Power Ken. Your legacy lives on forever in rally, drift and extreme sports history.
He is the smoothest driver around. Just look at the in car footage. No forced corrections on cornering. Perfect from the second he moves the wheel. He really is a freak in the best way possible
Rest in peace
This is too cool. Ken is just such an amazing driver, and he seems rather humble too!
Rest in peace to him

Lol, Ken Block best WRC result was 7th place, and that was once. He’s a good and fun driver, he’s no close to Ogier, Tänak, Neuville or Loeb for mention a couple.
The way that thing handles in the wet is just insane. What a beauty 😙
My dad had an escort cosworth and even stock handling there was nothing back then that could hold onto it especially in the wet. That whale tail would kick up huge amounts of spray as well. Awesome car.
@Vybe Lyfe Well that explains everything. Watching UA-cam is an education don't you know.
@@Malc180s I'm not a race car driver, but I do think that you can make some judgments on its handling by seeing it being driven well, at the limit and from a cockpit perspective. Nothing crazy about that idea.
9:35 “ I think there’s a corner here?’ -Ken block
“I have to believe you’re in control” 😂 Both class humans ✌🏻
Been on my bucket list for years to ride with a pro like this.
Absolutely incredible.
I’m a good driver and feel comfortable driving quick in rain but when I see this I remember how much difference there is between myself and these professional drivers! Ken is on another level when I see him going that fast in the rain on the side of a mountain.
Matt Brooks he also has unlimited money and a team to just throw everything at him should it break.
yhea , dont be like ken :D...
you might fly over the mountain instead of driving like him
a lot of it has to do with those expensive tires and the car build in general. Don't even begin to try this in a factory or lightly modded vehicle, you'll die or be permanently injured.
I even have professional driver's training for work but I dont think i could match 1/10 of what this guy farts out in driving skill before he steps into the car. he is a beast!
@@CodyLamson very true but you still have to work your way up to that professionalism to attain the almost unlimited money supply (from sponsors and winnings) and team (part ownership) to just throw everything at you should your car break right? Nothing was just handed to him, he worked his way to this point (most owners just hire drivers).
Ken literally morphs with any car he drives and completely becomes it with some sensory overload download type skill that's ridiculous to watch, just plain awesome!
KEN IS MY ALL TIME FAVOURITES....ALWAYS ADMIRE HIS SKILLS BEHIND THE WHEELS
Watch the real drivers in WRC.
This would be my make a wish. Riding with Ken where "I think there's a corner here"

what i would give to be a passenger in that car, back in the day i worked for a ford dealer and actually drove an rs200 that was on loan for an open week it cost me a written warning but was worth it, i also owned one of the first rs fiesta in the uk, old fords never die they just get faster

exactly what i was thinking
LoL and still no big titles in world rally classes !? Please he have sure high and great skills, but he's so overrated in rally, and so more in "drift" > gymkhana 4wd isn't drifting a car ("drifting" a 4wd is a joke for a real CarPilot) ... "5th gear 6th gear , oh a corner !" yup, that's just rally, nothing special, his ford fiesta taking around 140/150 km/h on 6th gear. wich is plus or minus the average top speed of F2000 or GrN rally class. Is just goin' flat out on straight or fast right left , like all good rally pilots. But i really respect the fact that he start "learning" very late car racing/rally, enjoy and share it with so much passion. And continu to improve it. A real showman and a real gentleman driver

The Cossie was my absolute fave rally (and overall) car in the mid/late 90ies, thanks for this video!
South Africa most stolen car: Anything with wheels on it.
Statistically speaking it's anything with a Toyota badge on it, and VW Polos.
And anything else that has not been chained or bolted down.
Towing as many cars without wheels as the record can support as it is open season no limit
In India they steal cars even without wheels on it.
Yea, they even steal Pick 'n Pay trolleys
I think you mean baltimore
'Yeah, we're actually in a cloud. Hehe. Heh.'

Where is the passengers race suit. LOL Guy has balls to hang with Ken. Even though he is not new to it.
You guys are awesome, thanks for a great experience!!
I always loved the Ford Escort, seeing a "modern" version of it is very nostalgic / incredible for me. Nice one Ken
Such a beautiful car, I love the flare he has on it. Nothing like a cosworth dialed up to 11.
This popped on in auto play and I was convinced Richard Hammond was doing the over view of the car
It's a Utah plate in Switzerland. 😂 This is actually the coolest thing I've ever seen. This car would not be road legal in California! 🤣

A ride along with Ken, like that would be a dream come true
I would honestly give anything to go on a ride along with you, I watch all your videos and it looks like so much fun. I love drifting, I just wish I actually have a ebreak and shifter like yours😂
ebreak isn't hard to install, the sequential shifter is a different story tho
Ken Block is one of the best drivers in the world, and even knowing that, I would have been crapping my pants. Great work!
Love the videos Ken - holding it together in the wet! Let's see some more fast downhill action! I can't believe I saw some people posting saying they could drive like this, maybe they are awesome too... but probably never drove without anti-lock brakes ;) Remember, Safety 3rd - attach your guests Hans properly! :) Even still, I'd love to be in the passenger seat haha.

Man you living the dream. It has always been a dream of mine to ride in a rally car. Thank you guys for the awesome videos
Why does he sound like he is trying to sell us Ken's car (・o・)
He could say bad things and i'd still buy it
This car can take a narrow mountain doing 70mph, continues to slap the roof of that badboy.
I'd pay 100 grand for it if I had that kind of money
What I love in the engine bay is how, for a car that always gets battered im gravel roads, its SO CLEAN! It doesn't need to be clean, as it isn't priority to have a car working, but they still keep it deep clean.
Best video yet
Facts
Not really my video are way better
8:06 really good hans use!! 😂😂
i like how he doesn’t need to know how fast he’s going 😂 the whole dash is his gears
Aye, that's mainly because the speed you're going isn't really as important as your lap times and gear for grip, especially in rally/gymkhana cars :)
It's quite easy to know your speed just from looking, feeling and hearing. The dash atleast for me, is quite useless.
honestly when im driving fast I watch my RPM way more than my speed.
Amazing.
And that wasn't even near a hot lap.
Again, amazing!
I love Neil so much. He has such a joyful personality.
