  • Highlights from the Saturday showing of the Battle of Britain Show held at Duxford. After 2 years of not being at Duxford it was so good to be back, but sadly I overused my batteries and show is a bit short. Even worse, my mount decided to give up just as the show started. Included in this feature are as follows;
    3 x Spitfires - Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Ia N3200, Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX TD314, Supermarine Spitfire Mk.XIV MV293
    4 x Hawker Hurricane Mk.I - R4118, P2902, P3717, V7497
    RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight 2 x Spitfires - P7350 and TD311
    Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX PT879
    Curtis Hawk 75 and Curtiss P-40F Warhawk
    Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress 'Sally B'
    3 x ‘109’s - Hispano Buchon HA-1112 G-AWHK, G-AWHH and G-AWHC
    Republic P-47D Thunderbolt, North American P-51D Mustang 'Miss Helen' and North American TF-51D Mustang 'Contrary Mary'
    Bremont Great Warbird Display Team
    Historic Helicopters - Westland Whirlwind HAR.10, Westland Wessex HU5, Westland Seaking
    Historic Army Aircraft Flight - de Havilland Beaver AL Mk1, Auster Mk9, Agusta Bell Sioux AH Mk1, Westland Scout AH Mk1

    Excellent.. The men that flew them may now be all but gone, but their memory and what they gave & sacrificed for us will live on, always.. Keeping these iconic aircraft flying is the best salute to them.

      I think sadly only one BoB pilot left in Ireland. The historic aircraft scene is a great living memorial to all those that took part in all parts of the globe. Duxford is possibly one of the best for portraying just this. Thanks for watching

    The Buchons sounded great.
    They had the BF109 supercharger howling sound despite being Merlin engines.
    The WW1 Display Flight is still one of my favourite groups.

    Wonder how many times I have been aboard that Seaking. I work where they used to be maintained down here in Hampshire. Nice video, bit shaky here and there, but nicely done.

      Awesome! Used to live near RNAS Culdrose as a lad and loved the daily Sea Kings! Sadly my camera mount fixing is loose from the camera chassis and keeps failing :( even with a mount its not the best tbh. Thanks for the polite feedback and watching

    You got some great shots there. Shame you didn't get the 'big wing' at the end. I managed to get that but unfortunately my footage was nowhere near as good as yours. At present I'm reduced to using my phone to film which really isnt good for this type of filming. It was a great day and was so good to see the old girls in the air.

      Thank you so much for the watch and comment. Caught the big wing on my but sadly used up all my batteries by then. Was a great day after 2 years of not going.

    Very good indeed, with some really great shots, but it ended rather suddenly and unexpectedly, is there a Part 2?

      Thank you very much for the comment :) sadly no part 2 as I used up my batteries too quickly, must have got far too into it myself and no practice after 2 years. Thanks again

    Well when you go begging America for help using lend lease summer 1940 how can you lose to Germany? The 100 octanes used can from America.

      @garyseeseverything (andknowsnothing)
      The fuel additives which the Germans depended on to power their high performance tanks and aircraft also came from Rockefeller in America.
      If America hadn't continuously delivered those supplies through the entire conflict, the war would have been over in weeks.
