where have you been my whole life??!!!this is just about a perfect tutorial in every way; the pop up box that displays the notes, fingering, chords, etc in time to playing the song, the other pop up box that shows you along with close up of your hand positions, your pithy comments about band and recording dynamics and nuances, just too much excellent/thorough stuff to even attempt to put into words or maybe I hate typing and just want to get back to playing so thank you TU TU you deserve to break through the algo glass ceiling. Thanks for setting the gold standard for gtr tutorials looking forward to more
Had to look up "pithy" to respond to this comment! but THANK YOU. To be honest its been tough trying to keep the channel going, but thanks to comments like this I shall. Pls excuse the newer videos if theyre done a little more haphazardly, hopefully theyre still helpful. Thank you Debbie
You really nailed the chords and the little nuances that make up the sauce. What I was equally blown away by was your own licks at the end when you brought your game to the party….wicked man. You’re real good. Thanks.
Thank you mr. rudolph! i appreciate that. Pls check out the newer videos, as ive been attempting various approaches. Hopefully still helpful. Thank you.
Thank you! I've thoroughly enjoyed watching you pick apart this classic and share it with us. I am so stoked to know that I can play this song now thanks to you. Aloha my friend!
Very cool video! I picked up a lot. This was a song I was working on and finding it hard to pick up all the little intricate riffs that you picked up on. You really bought this track to life. My fiancé wanted me to back her up in this song and I want to bring the fire when I do.
Niiiiice. If you’re ever in New Orleans, I owe you a drink. I was asked to learn this lead line for a show that’s in a couple hours. Haha. Damn keyboard players 😂🤣
Chris... I really really enjoyed this video.. NOW to go learn the song! My Band director asked me to learn it...truth...this is ONE of my Favourite songs of alll time. This video made it all the more fun!! Good Job bro!!
great video, great, concise breakdown. You explain without ever dumbing it down. Sometimes I feel like people don't know who their audience is. I'm sure it's mostly GB players who have to learn this song for today! So thanks for being right to the point...
Smooth. The rhythmic stuff required reminds me of James Brown. It ain't easy. It's like my cats. You try to pick them up and they easily slide out of your hands. The cat is faster than you can even think.. I memorized what Larry Coryell said verbatim. The point of the improvisation isn't based so much on harmonic challenges as it is rhythmic challenges.
Great instruction on 1 of my favorite songs. Ain't Nobody, very detailed in going over every guitar chords being played in the song as well as all the licks that are being played, l certainly will be looking forward to learning more from your video post, also do you think you could do a video instruction on James Brown Soul Pride(its a guitar instrumental that James Brown recorded in the 60's) Thanks. Again Great instruction
I never heard this particular song before, and after hearing those bass lines, that would take me, as slow as I am, to catch onto that. Also, you should hear Chaka Khan sing Bacharack's Alfie, mainly done by Cher. That last note she sings at the end of Alfie just can't be physically possible to do.
Fantastic playing and great job. The only little nitpick comment I'll make is one should avoid mixing sharps and flats, so the F# is "really" a Gb. That's a super small thing, for sure.
Hey man please go over those licks you were playing at the end of this video that was really awesome and I would like to use those licks if you don't mind.
Hello Chris, thanks for your video. You did really nail down the right chords to make this song sound great. As the chords are not so easy to catch for me, would it be possible to get your script or notation with the chords? Of course I can make a donation via PayPal. The effort behind has to be rewarded. Greetings from Bavaria Germany
Hey Chris, you for making this video. Could I ask you a question, please? So I'm a beginner with absolutely no experience and my hands are about 19 centimetres in length. I primarily would like to play pop, indie rock, and 80s (I guess that's: disco, funk, so also like this song). I dislike ACDC and will not play any metal. Would you recommend me a Squier Affinity Telecaster or Stratocaster (HSS/SSS)?
I remember having a conversation a few weeks ago with someone about this very question of yours. My best advice is to get your hands on as many guitars in your price range as possible. See what FEELS GOOD in your hands as you play.... This is Key...... If there are used gear stores or sections of stores in your area, definitely try those as you'll generally have a selection of higher quality instruments that have depreciated in value but often may be nicely "worn in" or even customized to better than original specs. As long as the hardware and parts are not falling apart, hah! As for the Affinity series I couldn't comment too much as I personally don't have much experience with them, but as long as it feels good and is in your price range, I'd say go for it! Let me know what you end up with! p.s. can't forget about how IT LOOKS when you hold it! LOL
@@ChrisHalo Sorry Chris I didn't mean to sound critical- just frustrated that I'm trying to glance the chord shape real time then realise that the fret position has changed. You have done a great job with this song. For me it would be better to fix the fret position wherever and go from there....
@@johnparker2636 not a problem at all! Seriously thanks for the idea. I haven’t done many of these and would like to do more and wanna find out what’s helpful. Personally I have a hard time staying on one chord, sometimes doing “too much”. Which might sound fun, but not super useful for an instructional video. Haha anyways Not sure if I can fix it for this one and repost, but will definitely take into consideration for the next one. Thanks again John
The best performance of this song is done by Jon Gomm imo👌🏼 When you watch this, watch it till the end. A great guitar session! ua-cam.com/video/5vCcZIARw9k/v-deo.html
Been playing this song with my band for 25 years. Imagine their surprise when I actually finally play it right. Can't wait. Thanks.
Hahaha this is so funny! How’s it going with it now a days??

I mean Chris, great to see a really good dissection of one of the best dance hits of the 80's. It certainly deserves to be studied. Brilliant job
Thank you sir!! I really appreciate it
You really nailed the chords and the little nuances that make up the sauce. What I was equally blown away by was your own licks at the end when you brought your game to the party….wicked man. You’re real good. Thanks.

Good video. :) Thank you so much. Excellent job. :)
KILLER!! Great lesson, man! I just subbed. One of my favorite tracks of all time.
hadn't realised there was so much gtr in this record! Think you nailed it pretty well! Enjoyed watching, thanks.

Thanks so much for this!
My mistakes are apparent now!
🎶🎸🎶
Thanks Vernon! Best of luck!
Absolutely Great!!!!!!!!
excellent, always wanted to play this cool song but the Eb key was putting me off ,I always have to bring it to Em to see the intervals
That was oddly satisfying
LOL, favorite comment thus far.
Are you starting on the 8fret B string!
Can you please go over those licks you were playing at the end of this video
Bro, that was helpful as F... thanks a lot
What’s the timing on that linear intro part ? Not sure where to jump in and I cannot find the count. Great lesson. Super helpful
Hmm good point I didn’t really explain the timing. If you can find the downbeat, the main lick starts on beat 2.
There's an easier way to play those chord voicings during the verse that sound funkier but nice job anyway. Bravo, sir.
🙏
more !
Great, what settings are you using
I noticed your switched to the bridge position but your strumming at neck? What the thought on this technique?

How did you find out what chord they used?
I need the chords at the end!!!
This is a great lesson but the annotations hopping round the fretboard are driving me crazy -wish they weren't there...
This is actually a helpful comment. What's better for your style of learning?
