Hi Jerry, what a wonderful time to fish. Catching bass in the snow, lipping pickeral omg, meeting Millie What a fun day. I agree with Baldy Fade comment.
Doesn’t get much prettier than that! Snowflakes seemingly rising from below as they fall from above… you’re good at making us feel like we’re there with you! Thanks for transporting us!
Thanks Tim! It was all the winter one could take in without the harshness just a beautiful day. It was making me dizzy looking in the water but double the show!
SNOWFLAKE! Not you Jerry...I was talking to the sky! 😄. Jerry? You're the man: "lipping" a pickerel...ouch! I once lipped a few brown trout. Even with those small teeth I ended up with an infected thumb. Good fishing video as always! Frank
Hi Frank! The old pickerel lip! I always advise dont do this! BUT I do take a good gander see if its a fair idea first. Some got those double rack and I be like like no way! A selective process indeed! Infected thumb never fun!!! Thanks always Frank!
@Fish Your Way You might have to put a "Don't try this at home" disclaimer in there. You don't want to be watching TV and have a law firm advertise: "If you or a loved one has been injured by someone suggesting to lip a pickerel, call the law offices of Dewey, Cheatum, and Howe"
Hiya Jeffrey! It was great to see it snow while out there specially these days, I aint big on snow but something about it when your fishing is magic! Thanks always and see you soon!
I was thinking for most of the video if you were going to catch a pickerel. Then you did. They are a reliable winter bite, but bring pliers!😉 I have caught trout in snow storms and it's a great time. Very peaceful with those big flakes coming down and even more so when a big brown trout eats you Rapala.
ah I just have a leather thumb! I do advise against it for anyone if someone has the confidence for it go for it - many times i will not - I kinda can gauge it when I look at the mouth - a full double rack of teeth - NO WAY!!! Thanks always king!
Really jealous. I'm fishing through over 4' of ice right now. At least we had a warm snap that knocked the snow down though, now you can drive a truck all over the lake without getting stuck. I built these things that jig your line in the wind, so when its real nasty I usually do pretty good just playing cards in the truck watching the lines do their thing.
Yea we got some skim ice last cold snap here slowed things up, and no ice to drill holes in the foreseeable future. those cold snaps turn things off I found, cards in the truck sounds good!
Hey Jerry! Glad to see you’re still out there. Work and idle time have been keeping me away for now but when I’d fish in January-March I loved fishing under overpasses and bridges! Especially when there are plenty of rocks keeping whatever warmth from the sun. Last year when we had the second snow fall I had a great time. I felt crazy for going out in the snow but there I was catching! Caught a bass, some trout and plenty sunfish. Love the simplicity of lures used for fun. Sometimes the waters just bless you when you don’t expect it. Thanks as always and tight lines!!!
Hi Robert! Rocks are great this ime year and can never beat a bridge! I dont know what it is but when a snow starts and your there often the fishing will be on plus its a great sight all combined with the fish just awesome! Thank you Robert!
Hi Jerry, My message came out wrong. It should have said; That was a nice Pick and bass for the cold water. I guess thay will keep biting until the ice comes. Take care, Mickey
I use to put latex gloves on to keep the water from getting into my skin, with wool fingerless gloves over them to keep my hands warm in those cold temps... Stay Strong My Friend, Will
@@FishYourWay Bless You My Friend, once the water gets into your skin, you start losing body heat faster, through whatever is wet. Then comes the stiffening of your joints, and muscle cramps. I enjoy seeing someone getting out and catching fish!!! Stay Strong, Will
I admire your courage for fishing through that blinding snow storm and catching some quality fish in the process lol. Good stuff. Is that the island? I feel like I am blanking out on that spot.
Looks like you headed up north. We got blasted with snow few weeks ago Upstate but dry for a while after. I got to really test out the AWD in my van in a few good storms. But not much snow up there like it used to. In the city, it's funny seeing people going nuts for a light dusting. They pull out their snowblowers and snow boots for a few inches. Everything looks better when it snows.
Hi Kismet! It made a great day. I felt bad for those folks way up north buried in the stuff hope it was not that bad. I kinda like fishing while it snows something to it makes all the more beautiful, so long it aint too bad on the drive back, thanks always!
@@FishYourWay That was a kingfisher making all that noise. The snow is nothing for them up there. Takes a lot to stop them from going about their day. Driving in snow is no problem, it's the ones that think they know how to drive in it that cause the accidents. Glad you enjoyed the day!
@@SupaFly10579 I love watching and hearing the birds, I found when they make noise, any of the songbirds something about the fishing goes on so i always pay attention to them. I am weird with the birds. I try to assimilate things that go on around them. I love them and make my own names for em. One has a sound like its saying Jerry bird in a high high tone - that one I obviously call a Jerry bird! Thanks always Kismet!
@@FishYourWay Yes, if you know how to watch and listen, you can understand what's going on. So many different birds out there. I've caught a lot of them as a kid and brought them home. I've seen bald eagles at Floyd Bennett. If you're lucky you can see an osprey catch a fish from the bay. Last night I saw a hawk zoom thru the buildings like a rocket. If you blinked you would miss it.
Thats amazing! I love your sense of wonder and you have me wondering how you caught them? I can recall a couple of times I got a few wild ones to perch on my hand. I remember the neighbors looking in disbelief! There is a blue heron I see at FBF when I see late at night every year past 4 years. I swear its the same one year after year in the quite of the night. Its always in the same area and it fishes with me so long I don't get too close! Thanks always for sharing!
Ha! Seemingly so but that is experience. I have probably handled 1000's of em through the years. I advise anyone not lip em unless they really know what they are doing. What is crazy? That would be me telling someone I was fishing in the snow! Who would believe that! Loved the comment thanks bassallday!
@@JamaicanSureFishing THAT SOUNDS AMAZING!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I may have to do a Trinidad then to Jamaica tour one day or month just awesome thank you!!!
Some people watch the morning news with their coffee, I prefer a Jerry Ruff production with mine.

lol! I hope and think we anglers are more the hardy type that could brush off a scuff but trends these days!
Good one. Keep them coming.
Thank you Joseph!
You know it's gonna be a good fishing session when you have to jump over railings, climb down rocks and risk your life walking past speeding cars 😆
Hardly lol, loved the comment thanks demo fishing!
Great session Jerry, on a beautiful winter day; at an equally beautiful location. You're living the dream, buddy.
