Wow, what a documentary. Loads of footage ive never seen before. Ive been following the reds since 1968. Fantastic, well done David lad.
Bob Paisley, he was there all his life, and Joe Fagan,..two Legends.
That seventh goal against Spurs,still to me the best I've seen,I remember Terry Mac starting that run from near our goal line and watching it from the Kop,he doesn't get the recognition he deserves.But there was one man who's name was always sung first every time they came out-Dalglish-cooler than the Fonz.
I remember when Ian Callaghan came to Melbourne in the early 80s I think, he was signing autographs in a sports store, barely anyone there, me and my brother and dad talked to him for quite a while, fantastic.
My mum is from St Helens, went over there a couple of times in the late seventies, went to Anfield in 79 had a tour ,got lots of autographs, couldn't believe, how lucky I was, got to watch a couple of matches from the Kop, before seats. The whole trip was amazing.

I witnessed Liverpool beat Arsenal in consecutive years 62,63 in the FA cup at Highbury, had to wait until 71 to beat them in the FA cup final, and 89 at Anfield to clinch the League championship, great days

Liverpool fans not singing the national anthem goes back to the 60s (if not earlier). It used to be drowned out by You'll Never Walk Alone, so maybe the booing is relatively new but the sentiment isn't. As with any crowd situation, individuals will have their own reasons, but they include things like the injustice and establishment cover-ups in relation to Hillsborough; the Tory government's plan for a "managed decline" of the city of Liverpool in the 80s; the general political situation currently, which is a long way from the left wing politics of the majority of people in the city; decades of taunts from other fans about poverty and unemployment
