20% Returns mostly happens on equity funds (Mid -Small Cap) and those are very volatile, Same like gains and the other side there is great possibility of loss in the capital.. that is the risk part of the equity fund unless investing in any debt fund which can get approx 6-9 % only. In case of SWP , In case some one opting at the bearish market that never helps too. SO we cannot surly judge on a fixed time frame. MF is mostly getting better rate of returns for a long term investing in a good funds.
