Some people of little knowledge have said Reardon is not relevant and has nothing to do with the modern game ,if it wasn’t for Reardon and Spencer pushing for the professional game and ranking system and to bring the money in to the sport there would have been no Higgins ,White ,Hendry , O’Sullivan etc .Mostly these comments are from Ronnie fan boys that don’t see the game past O’Sullivan .Ronnie himself had great respect for Ray in the way he shipped his game in to more of an all round player .R.I P Ray ,a true great of the game .
@@sharpvidtubeincredibly true and they aren't too bright, either. Ronnie, like all of us, highly respect Ray immensely. Classy, highly skilled, nerves of steel, personable, he had everything which is what no one else has had.
That would be weird for a fan of O'Sullivan to not think Reardon was important, because it's well known he helped Ronnie to become a better player.... odd comment
The problem is a good proportion of Ronnie fans are just that, Ronnie fans, and not snooker fans. You can tell who they are when they are shouting out on other players' shots and behaving like yobbos while pissed up.
Played a few frames against Ray a very long time ago, was a magical experience and even with chances I am not ashamed to say I was schooled hard on the table by him and lost all of the 3 frames. Still have my picture with him and a thanks for the game etc nice letter he wrote me, Rip Ray, a very nice guy all round and great player
@@sarcastaball Prove what? Why the hell would anybody lie. RIP to a consummate professional and one of the best Welshman to grace the game. From a fellow Welshman and snooker lover rest in peace a living Legend.
Just watched Stuart Broad and Jimmy Anderson doing a tribute on Sky Sports Cricket to Bob Willis and popped on UA-cam to see you doing this to the great Ray Reardon.....2 legends in their Sports. RIP.
Brilliant, thanks for sharing. Very impressive shots from Ray and recreations from yourself, as always. Lucky to be a Stokie myself - Reardon's club in Hanley is worth going if you're ever in the area: good beer, good food, good tables - can't go wrong.
This was a great video. Ray Reardon was a Great champion and a great character. The game has evolved over the years and players do some amazing things. But back in the day players didn’t spend 8 hours a day practicing or have coaching . They just played and entertained us ( which I am grateful for ). Perhaps you could dig out some old footage of Joe & Fred Davis and see what they had to offer the game. 👍👍
Some won't get this, but part of Ray's greatness was the way he moved around the table. Even between shots or selecting his next move he was like a big cat, and he was made for T.V. He had an aura about him and seemed to command the table and his opponent. There was also a mental component to his game that usually gave him the edge. Although he struck the ball beautifully there were better cue-men; but I can't think of another player who carried himself so well and with such grace. Even when he was losing or not at his best he always had that Reardon body language and looked dangerous. The look of a champion. RIP Ray.
As you are the king of trick shots I would suggest doing the Ray Reardon one as described by Dennis Taylor where he rolls a ball onto the floor then chips the white off the table to hit it. ( I haven’t described it very well but there a clip online of Dennis describing it) He said he’s never seen that trick shot before or since.
@@harry2.01 Yes, imagine if he had the breakbuilding ability of the other greatest single-ball potter, Mark Williams... 😳 Cliff Wilson, well, you've never seen anything like it. 😉
When you were recreating the shots you may have done better if you had used balls made of the same material that Ray was using (was the cloth different as well?). I remember them as being heavier and not as reactive! As for Ray, a sad loss, a great player, a true gentleman of the game who didn't take it too seriously.
Play all the shot with the original correct force....😕😕 Stop saying just a little bit hard... Little bit make a very big difference when using spin... slower shot make it harder... stop putting to much power man...
@breakfromlife your such a good snooker player but to think these guys get these shots first time and under so much pressure.....mad to think how good they are right!
Do you think some of the slower shots, especially the red on the cushion in behind the black, would have been easier with the tables being slower, and that's no disrespect to anyone.

Reardon - the greatest player Transylvania ever produced.
I only saw Ray Reardon past his best, but he pushed Alex Higgins to the limit in the 82 final, I have great respect for him after seeing that.

Great video, so glad you honoured the great man Ray Reardon. All the best from Vancouver, Canada.
Nice tribute to a great of the sport. RIP Ray Reardon.
A nostalgic and sympathetic tribute to a great snooker player, thank you.
I loved to watch Ray play when I was a kid, he went on to coach and advise many of the new great players, a true gentleman!
R.I.P Ray Reardon
One of the best snooker brains to ever exist. You did him justice Mr Break From Life. Love your videos man keep them coming.
Than you for this video.
i still use a Ray Reardon branded case to this day, Ray was a true legend
Judged by the shots, Ray was so far ahead of his time of the sports. Real snooker brain
My first snooker book was how to play better snooker, by Ray Readon, I shall always treasure it.
My first (and probably only snooker book..) was Enjoying Snooker With Ray Reardon from M&S. It was superb!
I had that book too. There weren't too many books on snooker back then but that's how many of us learned.
Wonderful tribute to an absolute genius amd gentleman of the game. Natural performer to the crowd and clearly someone who adored the game
What a great player and bloke - Rest easy Ray. Thanks for this tribute mate!
Grew up watching Pot Black on a Friday night, Ray Reardon was always my favourite.
Really enjoyed this, thank you for making it. More please!
The good news is, I’m doing so currently

Brilliant as ever! Think a video recreating some of the also-late and also-great Perrie's best single ball pots would be interesting too...
Amazing fact, Perrie never made a century in his professional career. Another great potter was Cliff Wilson.

he was making centuries at 91 years of age? WOW.

I used to find Supetr Crystalate balls easier to manipulate compared to Aramith 1g balls. They take spin differently.

Ray’s shot C was a 10/10 recreation, what made you give it a 9/10 yourself for the accuracy?
