After spending a lot of time fiddling with the knobs I’d say the pedals are identical. Now... since it's analog gear where each capacitor, resistance etc. has their own tiny variation you will find (very small) differences with the actual knob positions. Meaning: You probably have to set one knob a little higher, or a little lower. Between my pedals I found that the mid knob on the CC+ had to be just a little lower to match the C. All in all the sounds are identical and the knob positions are not, by any means, an issue. Should anyone react that the mid knobs differs in the video, you now know the reason :)
Thank you for this interesting test! I think it's great that you put so much effort into the very complex tests. It was also interesting to hear the stacking with the tumnus and broadcast!
@Nord länder, thanks! It was my pleasure. Oh, it stacks with those pedals very well! Especially into a Fender Deluxe where ”all-on” makes a fantastic, truly enjoyable sonic mayhem ❤️
Great demo! Your riffs and play sound so cheerful, joyful and speedy that I was never bored during the long painstaking process to confirm the identical characteristics of the pedals. YEAH!

Trank you! I put a Nobels ODR1 (new one) beside a Nordland ODR CC+. There are some differences. The Nobels imho Sounds Overall slightly warmer, the Nordland is more dynamic and sounds clearer.
@Stefan Haeger, thanks for checking it out 👍 Yeah, I need to try a Nobel. They’re supposed to be very similar and maybe that’s not too much of a surpise since I’m fairly sure the engineer of the Nordland (Kai) also designed the original Nobel circuit. When I bought mine I went for Nordland due to all the controls being available on the top. I play a lot of different amps, so I’m not a big fan of internal controls. I’ve actually started to drill holes in the bottom plate on the pedals that do have ’em for easy access 😂 Maybe I should make a video about that! Have a good one. Cheers!
Damn brother, not only do we have a bunch of the same gear we have similar playing styles. Currently researching the ODR-C to run with my Hudson & Klon. Gotta say it sounds great here, fat with a lot of clarity. You’ve got my subscription, going to check out the rest of your content.
Thanks a lot :) Yeah, I really dig this pedal. The ”C” that opens up the sound and and bass cut on a trimpot is what (in my opinion) gives it the edge over the Nobel. Well worth the extra $ if you ask me. The Klon will pair up fine with this one 👍 Have a.good one Cheers
Beautiful comparison! So helpful. Do you have a preference in form factor? I like the bigger knobs of the compact model, but I like the input and output jacks at the top of the larger model. Really just wondering if the tiny low cut knob on the larger model is flimsy or problematic at all?
Hi @muzikjay, thanks for commenting! I definitely prefer the smaller one. I wish all pedals were smaller so we could fit more on our boards 😆 Your question anoutthe knob; Nope, ther’s nothing flimsy on this pedal at all. It’s just as tight and nice as the other ones. You’d need very large hands before it’s even a small problem to tweak any of the knobs. Have a good one 👍 // Wince
Love the tune, playing style, and the tones! Oh yes, and great comparison... on my end of the intertubes they sound shockingly identical! Is there any reason why anyone should go for the bigger version at this point? I’m thinking no? Cheers!
Thanks Bogdan! The inside of the pedals are pretty much identical. The differences, as I’ve understood, are on components that don’t affect the sound. I think the in/output jacks are different in order to fit the smaller case. I would base my descision *only* on estethic reasons and go for the one that would look, or fit the pedal board best. Personally, I want to save space, so on my gig board I got the small one :) Great pedal and very versatile. The (accessible) bass cut and odc-function are what gives it the edge over the competitors. Thanks for watching and commenting :) // Wince
@@chickencreekproductions Many thanks for the additional description and thoughts. When I’m ready to spend my money I’ll be getting the compact one for sure. Since you brought up the competitors though ;) any thoughts on the Wampler Belle; it does have a bass cut. I’m saving up for the Nordland cc+, but I’m curious what you think. Cheers!
@@bcjaliu You're very welcome :) The Belle is definitely a great alternative. I do prefer the Nordland though 'cause you can "uncompress" the sound and bring back some of the bite using the ODC control :) Haha, nerdy as hell, but it makes the Nordland a winner :) ... And like so many other pedals, the difference is barely noteable unless you compare them side by side.
@@chickencreekproductions great points. Yeah having the ability to “decompress” as the gain goes up is a great, if not crucial, feature! Keep on rocking!
Great video. I was curious on the light, since my eyes are sensitive. Does the ODR-C dim or brighten the light, as compared to the compact? Blue LEDs are rough on me, is the pink manageable on both, or should I choose the brightness control? Thanks for your input and great review.
Hi Eddie, thanks for watching and commenting 😊 Hmmm, good question. I haven’t reflected on that myself and have to check it out. What I do know is that I haven’t been disturbed by the light strength at all on either of the units. I sold a MXR/CAE Line Driver a while back and as i remember it, THAT pedal had a nasty strong blue LED that I had to cover up with some pieces of tejp, so at least I know there’s a point where I take notice. The CC+ have a static light strength whilst the bigger ODR-C can be dimmed. What you see in the video is the default setting, which according to the web page should be bright (”Control Knob for the LED brightness: bright / dimmed (Std: Bright)”) I’ll see if I can check it out and get back to you. Cheers // Wince
@@chickencreekproductions Yes, it's because of a MXR EQ pedal, especially, in which I am asking. I don't want to deal with the same issue. I found a hack to pull and turn a few to completely cut out all light on the EQ, hope to find a set of dimmed leds for it. Thanks, again, from Gävle.
