I always assumed you guys knew about the Nobels. Out here in Nashville, it’s everywhere. My favorite take on the ODR-1 was the Visual Sound (now Truetone) Open Road. Such an underrated pedal. Anyone who plays a Fender and hangs on the bridge pickup, it’s your pedal. Absolute magic with Jazzmasters.
Love the open road but because of the large and strange shape it kept breaking in my pedal train bag, went through 2 of them and have had them repaired.

Wow, just dug in my gig bag and found my original 90's ODR-1. Picked it up used about 12 years ago for 40 bucks. I always loved the soft clipping, one of my favorite overdrive pedal tones. Kind of shocked to see what the 90's ODR-1s are going for now! Time to put it back in use, was using the dirty channel on my tube amp for quite a while.

This circuit is so interesting and the variants are all worthy of a listen. Anyway, I love pedal comparison shows, I could watch these all day long.
Mick did exactly what I did, he turned the spectrum down to one and it sounded weak so he turned it up. Bur the magic comes from turning it down and boosting the level up, not that it doesn't sound great the other way round! As always, love the playing from both of you, and Dan's technical knowledge is priceless for me.
Thanks for sorting this out for us guys. Some of us neither have access to the pedals nor the knowledge to begin to make sense of our own pedal options. These videos are helpful to state the least.
Exquisite episode. Eventhough I dont use a Fender nor Vox, just hearing the magic those Ods can add in Mick and Dan's tasteful tweaking is in my humble opinion what TPS does best: showcasing pedal's magic tone/uses with tasty guitar riffs. Keep rocking.. and yes there more great ODs to be discovered yet. Im lucky enoough to have a few magic ones myself and none are a Klon nor Tubescreamer. Each player has different taste. All is good.
Too many demos start low, play, add a bit, play, repeat. Who wants to know every shade of a pedal? I just want to know what it sounds like at its best and a bit about why, and how it reacts to different guitars is way more informative than how it differs when the gain is at 2 o clock or 5 o clock.
I love the in episode cut away to the vlogs out of the room. Makes the show feel like a TV episode instead of one long YT video! (Reminds me of GBBO 😂)
I've had the odr1 for 6 months, and could not be happier. It took several pedals to the pawn shop. Put it with a tumnus deluxe and set both on the lighter gain side, and you have heaven together. As far as the mid hump, I use an mxr 6 band to achieve as needed, usually around +5 to 8 dB on the 400 and 800 bands. Also using a Joyo Am Sound for added bass and light drive as needed.. The remote portion the odr1 is for turning the bass cut on and off with a footswitch btw, so makes setting for humbuckers or single coils on the fly in live settings a breeze. This peddle plays very well with others, has its own sound, and I feel like it's a mildly scooped version of a BD crossed with a TS. Just lovely as always D & M, cheers from KY.
I was shocked by the performance of this pedal when I first got one. It's no surprise it was the best kept secret for session musicians, this thing can do it all and get your signal in a very fantastic spot in the mix.
I AM INSTANTLY SOLD!! THIS IS THE OVER DRIVE PEDAL I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR I JUST DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS THE ODR1 TILL THIS AWESOME VIDEO. THANKS ONCE AGAIN GUYS. IM GOING SHOPPING FOR MY ODR1 ASAP. signed GUITAR WIZARD.. ✌️ LUVS,N,GUITARS...
As a ac-15 guy who uses the odr1 and a blues driver. That’s a sound I know well. Side note turn the drive down to the 9 o’clock position and hitting it with a rat is a glorious noise.
An old bandmate of mine, very talented frontman/guitarist absolutely swears by this pedal, and didn't suggest but told me to buy one of these when I was starting to rebuild my rig and get back into a band setting. I put my LP through it into a cranked 65' Fender, bridge pickup, and understood immediately. The drive just punches through the mix, it just sings. I don't even like overdrive pedals, I normally boost with an eq, but this thing in front of it just sets the amp on fire. I use the level primarily but the drive, which even though I only like amp gain, still has great character, and I like to occasionally mix some of it in for some Steve Jonesish effects.
I bought an ODR-1 this year. I've tried every holy grail overdrive there is just about. This one is my favorite. 18v helps a lot too btw. Looking forward to this episode.
I too bought myself an odr-1 this year, and use it religiously, i've been looking for another overdrive to maybe pair with it, but its hard to find something that feels on par and isnt £400+
@@MrXNITROx I’ve been on an overdrive quest recently. My 2 favorites so far are the MXR Timmy and Wampler Pantheon (think Blues realer/KOT), but I just got a Wampler Belle which is the ODR circuit with an active Bass control and an asymmetrical clipping switch. The Pantheon is incredibly versatile - goes from clean boost to the edge of a full-on distortion pedal. The Timmy is versatile as well but it’s useful as a “transparent” overdrive to my ears with lots of clarity and there isn’t as much potential gain available. Timmy also adds noticeable compression - not bad but it’s always there. I’ve only just started fooling around with the Belle. At first I was asking myself “Why?” This episode of TPS has answered that question in spades. Before, I put the Belle in front of the Pantheon and found several really happy places. ETA this is into a Princeton Reverb set clean.
Man... my favorite OD pedal of all time. Had an original 90's one on my board for 20+ years. The only reason I ever got rid of it is for the new Nordland ODR-C. The same circuit with better components, designed and hand made by the original ODR designer... now with extra controls for: low cut, mid, and compression makeup controls. It's the only thing better than an original. Perfect for beefing up single coils, then throw a humbucker at it and use the low cut. Sooooo good.
I've never been a tube screamer guy... if it was green I avoided it all together.... wow did I assume completely wrong about the ODR-1. I watched this video, and went and bought one. I've plugged it into multiple amps in my collection with multiple different guitars.... I absolutely LOVE the ODR-1!!!! Also very happy I didn't spend the money on the Waza Blues Driver, because it was on my list. The ODR-1 was the exact sound I looking for.
Don't discount the Tube Screamer just because it has been around so long and everyone seems to have one. A Tube Screamer can boost the ODR-1 or the Bllues Driver into the Lead EQ every live guitarist needs badly. To me the Tube screamer is a naturally good EQ curve for lead guitar.
I just received my Nobles ODR1.I played it thru my Deluxe Reverb and wow I was absolutely blown away 😳 this is the most amazing thing I've ever owned. It sounds great on this video but in real life in my studio I just stared into the ether for a few moments as it vibed into my soul I hit an E with heavy vibro kicking and the whole room just throbbed.Go get one of these .Seriously forget every other pedal it is no joke.
Guys, you have to get ahold of the Nordland ODR-C if you haven’t played one already.. Bloody mint, with a bass cut, mids and multi band compression lift
@@1redgate8 Yeah it’s up there...but I’m a massive believer in “buy once; cry once”. Yes there’s hyper-inflated pedal prices but I have really discovered that you get what you pay for - especially here. Amazing pedal - and I have Kingsley/Vemuran offerings!
Totally agree, but what one needs is different for everyone. Either way, the guy's genius how he did the circuit. Happy I bought into the family - I did initially think it was all just hype...
My first "boutique" OD was the Guthrie Trapp OD fro JRAD, their interpretation of the ODR. With a strat and clean blackface, it's the perfect bridge PU drive. Great show once again mates!
@@MrAwesomeSaucesome Mine is the older black one. A bit more gain on tap than the newer ones (I'm told). Keeping the gain below 11oclock is very satisfying. "Chewy" or "saggy" low end, just the right bite up top and wonderfully dynamic. My only gripe was it's a pedal that really sounds best LOUD to push your preamp, similar to how you might setup a klon. With a tele and Deluxe Reverb, it's the prefect drive. With a strat, really need more mids than it can push.
Dan @39:27 “As soon as the ODR went on, I wanted to play music”. DUDE I could instantly feel it was happening!! All the way across the Internet!! At 38:57 when you got on it my foot started tapping at the exact same time! It’s an inspiring pedal for sure in it’s own place 😊
Great episode, TPS! The Nobels has been my number one fave for 10+ years of live gigs and studio work. Just played 4 sets with it last night with crunchy rhythm and screaming leads. Always musical, inspiring and plays nicely in gain stacks. So happy that you finally found the ODR! Great stuff 👍
Just purchased a Nobels, and Wow!! First OD pedal that I can play through my Fender Deluxe Reverb and Marshall Origin 20 Combo amps without needing a boost pedal to sound great with gain. The bass cut is absolutely needed when playing humbuckers with tube amps. But not needed when using fender single coils. This pedal allows you to shape the tone in ways I could never find at this pedal price point -- giving you the ability to find the best dirty rock sounds with all sorts of guitar pickup combinations -- hums, mini hums, p-90s, single coils. And it's next-level with stacked on my J Rockett Silver Archer boost.
So glad to see you two icons put ODR 1 through its paces. Confirms my feeling from my very recent purchase that it has no equal as an overdrive. Thnx for all you both do to educate our ears!
It's so much fuller and richer than the TS. I'm glad I chose the Nobels when I was searching for dirt. The Blues Driver does stand up to it though. I believe they're peers.
You guys are so timely. The ODR-1 (pre-bass-cut model) has recently replaced my TubeScreamer on my board. Drive at 1.5, Spectrum at 7 and Level at 4. But for me it requires a GE-7 EQ in front of it to boost 3.2K a hair and cut 200 a smidge. Yeah, the EQ takes up real estate but I like the results. Just enough girth with a hint of overdrive hair. My gear is a Highway-One Tele into an EC Vibrochamp. I'll leave out all the other pedals you two have "suckered" me into... ;-)
Cheers boys, yet again i have used you as a reference and as a back catalogue for invaluable information. I am now off to my guitar shop to purchase one of the Nobles ODR1 pedals 😊 Brilliant, cheers again.
Bukovac says that every time he hears a guitarist disappear in a live mix, it’s always on a Fender guitar. I think that’s the function of TS circuits: sort of a live-gig ‘ass saver’ for Fender guitars into Fender amps. Reversing the scoop. That said… every time you switch to the ODR, the sound is somehow more ‘charismatic.’ More satisfying and fun to listen to. Wild.
Yeah, when I saw Johnny Marr play with...I forget who, not The Smiths - but anyway, his Strat was the incredible disappearing guitar. The other guy had a 335, totally dominated the Fender.
If Bukovac said it, it’s true and that is not sarcasm. He is a tone, pedal, guitar and overall music genius. The man can play as fast as anyone about there but chooses to be musical. Sometimes he’ll throw a fast lick or run but he’s so damn musical and creative it boggles my mind. Man I love Uncle Larry. I always take his advice. He’s definitely someone you can trust having played on something like 600 or more albums. Plus he just has that ear where he can hear something and figure it out.
YES Stephen Munns. As for Fender backline, the notion that it doesn't cut through a live mix just runs contrary to the over 30years of playing and working with actual pros that I have in me. 🍀ain't talking about the cheapo things they build for bedrooms, but mate, even a bloody Champ will sit proud in a mix. Am astonished to even be having this conversation. As for Strats... Yeah I really have trouble picking Gilmour, Clapton, SRV, Jimi, out of a mix....RIDICULOUS
This was a revelation. Thanks for using good, well-known, "affordable" amps for this video. I also really enjoyed all the detail: each amp individually, together, neck & bridge pickups, combo of pedals - that all really helped me hear the differences. Okay, I want one now.
Now I've watched some videos on the Wampler Belle and I think that it has some great options even over the ODR-1. Hmmm.... do you two have one of those?
Saw the show Friday and was blown away. Ordered an ODR-1 that day and it showed up today. Fantastic with both Strat and LP and stacked into my ZenDrive was glorious! Cheers guys! Another well done show. I really appreciate how well you explain everything with each pedal. Thanks!
As is so often true - the beautifully balanced, smooth ODR-1 sounds a lot better in isolation, but the more aggressive sounding, honkier BD-2 would probably cut better in a band situation.
Most guitar UA-cam channels aim for sub 10 minute videos with ‘5 things you need to know about…’ and have done a full demo of features and conclusion within 10 minutes. Not TPS, they don’t even turn the pedal on until 9:09. That is why we love TPS ❤️. Keep up the great work chaps (and Catherine et al) - great episode!
I did indeed. It was my fav ODR type of pedal until I tried Norland. I say the mid knob is worth it, literally takes you from Nashville to Texas with a twist of the knob. Shanks was pretty, Norland does the job
My main 2 flavor overdrives are an ODR-1 and a Greer Lightspeed. When I want transparent presence, Lightspeed is it. When I want warm thickness to bring a bridge pickup to life, the ODR-1 is it. It does well low to medium gain. Just a dang musical overdrive. And it pushes an amp-like pedal well too
The Xotic Super Clean boost on top of my old TS9 that Analogman modded several (25) year's ago Tried and true pedal Surprised Xotic doesn't get noticed more Damn good pedals
Glad to see the ODR-1 getting some love on TPS. Got mine about 4 years ago for $50 US, this episode should help to drive up the used prices unfortunately. The ODR-1 works great with the Blues driver (also on my board)! Cheers and thanks for the fun episode!
Great episode! Some very nice sounds and that 335 is just the best! On the past VCQ Dan mentioned again how desperate he is to interview RG Keen. A few weeks prior he had also mentioned it. I had chatted with RG, then sent his contact to BV. Get Dan on it!! Cheers.
To my ears, the Wampler Belle OD sounds better than the original ODR-1. It has a much better shaped low end. And I'm a sucker for a well shaped low end.
I went into a music store last weekend for an overdrive. I had it in my head I would walk out with the Bluesdriver or a Klone. I play a Gretsch with Dynasonics into a Vibro Champ. I tried over 20 pedals. I almost bought the Warm Audio ODD. I almost bought the Boss Bluesdriver. I ended up buying the Nobels ODR-1 Basscut you have in this video. To me it sounded the most amp like. You nailed it with even when dirty its got clarity. It was the cleanest dirty.
Great pedal comparison demo. Very comprehensive and informative. Happy with my ODR-1, and a have lot of fun combining it with a Danelectro Daddy O, and an RC Booster.
Thanks for the tunes gents! ODR1 sounded great on the LP into the AC15, and thanks for using the AC15 in your shows. I love hearing the Matchless, and the Two Rock when you bust them out, but I really appreciate you guys playing through middle of the road gear occasionally too. My wallet can only stretch so far haha :D
Not even regarding the wallet just great to hear difference and comparing Shows how wide or narrow some of the gaps can be and how to achieve with our just buying the top of top cause even then you still have to dial in sounds for the most part
Just got the Nobels and I'm loving it.Ive tried blues driver the ts Ibanez pedals. And was never happy with the tone. The Nobels is amazing.I think it's gonna knock the sugar drive off the board.
The short blurb Dan gave on the ODR-1 was to date, the most informative I've heard..excellent! I'm enjoying you guys very much..informative, thorough, some clean humor, and mutual respect for one another. Thus far, I've heard no foul, off color, inuendos or expletives..truly refreshing!! Please keep it up!
Further emphasises the multitude of influences in a rig instrument amp combo and playing style to find an od thats sits right for the individual, a million choices of glorious sounding od’s but finding the right one that works for you now that is the challenge! Great show really interesting cheers lads
No idea why you never owned one, but I'm glad you do. :) Learned quite a bit about this pedal, gonna sell my mini ODR-1 and buy the one with the bass cut switch. Thanks.
very apt scheduling Dan & Mick (on purpose of course 😉) as the 'Nobel "Peace" prize' was awarded this very morning .... great that TPS got the Nobel BC 'sounds' prize too!
LOVED this weeks show. Just got the protein and this makes sense now why I love the green side! Y’all should do a show on pedals/guitars/amps you’ve never had growing up or never tried but should have.
I’ve been using my Vemuram ODS-1 combined with the Dane and other various TS-ish circuits and it is one of my favorite combos. Was so fun seeing you guys rip into it with those two.
Great show D&M. You leggends taught me about pedals in the last couple of years, gave me enough insight to realise the ODR was a great pedal and it now it sits next to my Timmy. Both go into a mid-pushed Blackstar Artist.
Into the Deluxe, it really did sound like an old Bassman cranked up and overdriving. Nice to hear it with the AC15, as I'm moving on a couple of amps and replacing them with old faithful Vox. The AC15 is home base, time to go home :) The Nobels made the Vox sound like just more Vox! Great stuff. I believe my Paisley Deluxe has one side based on an ODR-S? It's ODR-something, I know that. It's a great pedal.
Man, I love the Wampler Belle and the Blues Driver. Whenever I see a BD on a board I'm like, this is a good sign. The Belle is even better than an ODR-1. Fantastic episode, gentlemen.
Picked up a Nobels ODR1 based in large part on this demo. Great OD. Makes a dead clean BF sound like a pushed Tweed Deluxe or something in that area. Really do enjoy it. Thanks for the content gents.
I’ve just got the Ltd Edition ODR-1 in Green Sparkle and I’m so impressed! I’ve got the Wampler Belle which is great, very clever to fit so many features into a mini pedal. Although both sound nearly identical I’m definitely keeping both. I’m hoping to get the Boss BD-2w to replace my old BD-2 as that’s a different beast all together in my opinion.
I'm only halfway through, but this is a great show so far! Echoing what someone else said, I appreciate the times when y'all play through mid priced amps so we can get an idea what it would sound like for us peasants hahah. But I do have a question! I know the green side of the Protein is modeled after the ODR-1. Do you know if the tone control is also designed to mimic the spectrum of the ODR? Or is it just a plain ol tone control?
I have the Mythos Erlking, his take on the Nobels. It's an unbelievable pedal. Shame he stopped making them; apparently they were a pain in the ass to make.
I just got the Nobels ODR-1 and I just found this. Running it through my Victory Sherriff 22 with a Captur X and the volume at 2 o'clock. I read a few people don't think the Sherriff is a good pedal amp but the ODR-1 sounds great. The ODR-1 has been a great buy and not too expensive either, it's a lot cheaper then some overdrives I have. Thanks Nobels, a happy owner :) Thanks also to Dan and Mick for this video.
Yes, the "other green pedal". I've used one for years and prefer it to 808 circuits. It works well with every amp I've owned and is inexpensive. The pedal starter pack, drive edition, should be a TS, BD2, and ODR1.
The Boss OD 3 does a whole lot of what the Nobels does and more , and you rarely hear it mentioned. If you want an OD that cuts, doesn't mess with your initial tone like a Screamer, has gobs of gain and output on tap, and is dynamically responsive (excuse me while I pick up all the buzzwords I just dropped), the OD3 can do that and won't break the bank, especially if you can get a used one.
The OD3 is a great pedal, but it's always going to impart its tone on the guitar. There's always going to be mids present. The ODR-1 is MUCH more transparent and has a very flat EQ. I use both so I don't have a favorite, but I wouldn't say they're that close in tone.
With a strat into a clean(ish) Fender amp I still prefer tho OD side of a KoT to the ODR-1: While the ODR-1 has even better dynamics and a very manageable low end (bass cut on) the KoT has just enough mid push and sparkle to make the sound and feel a bit more 3-dimensional and engaging. The ODR-1 also feels more "busy" and noisy. Working with a different amp (e. g. more mid focus) I can totally imagine that the ODR-1 would be the winner, though...
I have tried to give the Blues Driver multiple shots on my board and I just cannot jive with it. Always way too bright and aggressive for my guitars and amps, that ODR-1 sounded great! Might need to grab one and give it a shot. Great side by side!
I've never tried it but sounds pretty good Personally new pedals don't have a good track record for me I've got an old TS but a newish Xotic Super Clean boost that is working for me
This video has shown me that I'm not a mid hump guy. That ODR-1 sounds so much better than the tube screamer to my ears.

This has got to be the most honest and informative videos on these i have ever seen. With two traditional blues guitars as well
I got the Wampler Belle. Its a clone of the Nobels Overdrive, but with some tweaks to make it more versatile. Brilliant pedal.
The Brown amplification Protein is a dual OD based on the ODR-1 and the Bleusbreaker pedal. If you looking for a combi listen to the Protein demo's.
@@ndr475 interesting! Hadn’t heard of that one.
@@MrXNITROx I pair it with the Lovepedal Tchula. Those two actually play well together, they’re always on in my chain
RC Booster -> ODR-1--> Kingsley Minstrel--> Hermidia Dover Drive --FX/AMP.
Love it.
I’ve noticed that playing with a live band really tells how nice the pedal really works!
Man... my favorite OD pedal of all time.
Sooooo good.
odr1 definitely the most underrated pedal. so much better than most drives. so clear and defined, and brightness that isnt harsh at all
Yet has this crunchiness that’s so damn good.
It's very good to hear that from you, guys! I'm waiting my ODR-1 to arrive. Thanks!
At a cost...big cost $$$ but yeah, that's his on the side boutique build and does give that extra tweakability.
Happy I bought into the family - I did initially think it was all just hype...
time stamps are super helpful when having to restart the video because your connection goes down. thank you for putting in the work
My first "boutique" OD was the Guthrie Trapp OD fro JRAD, their interpretation of the ODR. With a strat and clean blackface, it's the perfect bridge PU drive. Great show once again mates!
I was considering one of those, I love the shape of those jrads and haven't tried an odr
One hell of educational guitar 🎸 show. Thank you Dan and Mick for the Mojo entertainment. ❤
Spending my lunch break with you guys
Bon apetit!
I ordered one yesterday in preparation for this episode! Dispatched this morning. Excellent.
Ha! Cooool!
It's so much fuller and richer than the TS. I'm glad I chose the Nobels when I was searching for dirt. The Blues Driver does stand up to it though. I believe they're peers.
I hear you, but damn if the odr into tube screamer didn't sound fanflippintastic.
The ODR-1 is a pedal that does a decent job at being every kind of ever overdrive there is on the market
I've been using it to push through the mix and I think the frontman is angry at how effective it is.
I'll leave out all the other pedals you two have "suckered" me into... ;-)
I do love the ODR1. It grows on you. The way it reacts like an amp is just great. Particularly if you run it at higher voltages.
You run it at 18v?
@@donwojczynski8640 yes, actually I do. It does make some sort of difference.
Cheers boys, yet again i have used you as a reference and as a back catalogue for invaluable information. I am now off to my guitar shop to purchase one of the Nobles ODR1 pedals 😊
Brilliant, cheers again.
Strats, not Teles. Bukovac said that about Strats.
Never been true for me. In a band context I’m always in my Strat bridge pickup and it cuts perfectly.
I’ve had a few odr-1 pedals over the years. Always a telecaster’s best friend.
This! It LOVES teles
Absolutely...!
Saw the show Friday and was blown away. Ordered an ODR-1 that day and it showed up today. Fantastic with both Strat and LP and stacked into my ZenDrive was glorious! Cheers guys! Another well done show. I really appreciate how well you explain everything with each pedal. Thanks!
Thanks for purchasing our pedal and kind regards from the Nobels team!
I’ve been thinking about picking one of these up for ages, outrageously good value
You guys really do a thorough job. Great to finally see/hear a comprehensive demo of the ODR1. Thx
Thanks Jeff!
Thank you!
Norland ODR-C is a king of ODR type of overdrives. Made by original Nobled designer. Try it
I wholeheartedly agree. I started out with the Nobels and loved it but the Nordland ODR-C really took things into a higher level of love.
Have you played the Shanks ODS1 by Vemuram? It's John Shanks take on the ODR1.
I have too … it’s glorious 😍
I did indeed. It was my fav ODR type of pedal until I tried Norland. I say the mid knob is worth it, literally takes you from Nashville to Texas with a twist of the knob. Shanks was pretty, Norland does the job
@@TheDarinAmes Now they have a CC+
Cheers.
I picked up the Nobels ODR-1 BC a couple weeks ago. Really like it a lot!!! Sounds killer in your show setup!!👍🏽
Brilliant romp, can't get enough of the joy from both of you! Now to consider the Wampler Belle...
This excellent ( as always) presentation proves that equalization is of paramount importance to any OD or distortion device
To my ears, the Wampler Belle OD sounds better than the original ODR-1. It has a much better shaped low end. And I'm a sucker for a well shaped low end.
Big fan of the Wampler Belle, yep
Ain't we all..!
Totally agree! I’ve had both and Belle is superior.
Belle for tweaking the bass and the clipping button
I see what you did there.
Nordland ODRC has additional 3 knobs, compression, lo cut, and mids . Very tweak-able
Not even regarding the wallet just great to hear difference and comparing
Shows how wide or narrow some of the gaps can be and how to achieve with our just buying the top of top cause even then you still have to dial in sounds for the most part
Oh jeez. That's one of The Sounds. Thanks! :)
Got close there with the “just like my mum” anecdote 🤪
Further emphasises the multitude of influences in a rig instrument amp combo and playing style to find an od thats sits right for the individual, a million choices of glorious sounding od’s but finding the right one that works for you now that is the challenge! Great show really interesting cheers lads
Totally that Steve!
No idea why you never owned one, but I'm glad you do. :)
Learned quite a bit about this pedal, gonna sell my mini ODR-1 and buy the one with the bass cut switch. Thanks.
very apt scheduling Dan & Mick (on purpose of course 😉) as the 'Nobel "Peace" prize' was awarded this very morning .... great that TPS got the Nobel BC 'sounds' prize too!
Wow, was it really? Awesome!
Let’s be honest, the Nobel peace prize isn’t worth the praise. They give it to any asshole. Just ask obummer.
great show guys,
Uncle Larry told us to get an ODR-1. I bought mine a year ago. Phenomenal pedal.
BUYING ONE NOW! My God it's perfect.
LOVED this weeks show. Just got the protein and this makes sense now why I love the green side! Y’all should do a show on pedals/guitars/amps you’ve never had growing up or never tried but should have.
Another perfect lunchtime length episode! Happy TPSday everyone!

Shame: Maybe a stretch, but it would have been cool to throw the D&M Drive on there too.
Another great video, gents!
Eeeee, so hard to put the D&M in there. Because we know what we'd choose! Ha.
@@ThatPedalShow I'd agree - I have a D&M Drive and love it. Just for comparison's sake, though, fair play! ;) Another excellent video, gents!
Now I’m curious about the nobels compared to their mini version of the same and the wampler belle.
I started using the ODR-S in the early 2000's after I saw Pat Buchanan in Nashville playing one. It has never left my board.
Ahhhh, the look of unbridled joy on your faces at the end with everything on and up was gold. It made me pick up my Tele and turn it up.
Thank you very much and kind regards from the Nobels Team
Well this explains why I love the sound of my Wampler Belle (ODR-1 clone with extra sauce) so much... Great video y'all.
Not sure, we need to make that video
I was wondering exactly that - how does the Protein's tone knob affect the ODR side!!
My ODR-1 arrived today. Can’t wait to take it to the gigs this weekend to see if it will be a keeper.
I have the Mythos Erlking, his take on the Nobels. It's an unbelievable pedal. Shame he stopped making them; apparently they were a pain in the ass to make.
I wish he'd do another run! I've asked but yeah, he's not keen.
I ❤ your long and informative videos. Awesome stuff ! Thank you for all you do for us lowly guitarist. Blues On....💙
I have always had a love for the Blues Driver, Both the Waza and the Keely one. Although the Super Phat Mod (Keeley) is the champ for me.
We’ll be doing that and a TS in a band context V soon. Cheers!
Now that we've had this 'I told you so' moment, time to get the Rubberneck in the room
I have tried to give the Blues Driver multiple shots on my board and I just cannot jive with it. Always way too bright and aggressive for my guitars and amps, that ODR-1 sounded great! Might need to grab one and give it a shot. Great side by side!
I've never tried it but sounds pretty good Personally new pedals don't have a good track record for me I've got an old TS but a newish Xotic Super Clean boost that is working for me
@@paulcowart3174 Same. Always sounds fizzy to me. Ive bought and returned it twice.
