Yo! I love the cooking videos. And for someone who’s a little more advanced, I’d like to see yours and chefs cooking essentials! Knife types/ brands, pan types/ brands kitchen tools, dish wear etc! Keep up the motivating videos
Your dad needs to set up his own UA-cam. He could be a multi-platform social media star. It’s more than just the top notch cooking skills. He drops some good advice and brings an edge and coolness you don’t see in the other Food Network stars. He would have no problem getting collabs with top UA-cam stars who would kill to work with him.
@@bongwater7908 Yes, Susur Lee is a top chef based in Toronto. With the right producer and manager, he could be the next Anthony Bourdain but I don’t think he has the same ambition and thirst for fame as his contemporaries who appear constantly on the Food Network.
@17:37 It's a real subtle moment but I've had it with my dad. It's just they spend all their lives cooking for us and just hope that we enjoy meal. So I'm sure it makes Papa Susur feel extra happy and extra warm when Levi really lets his dad know he loves it. Just a genuineSmile to his face
Love from a 🇲🇾Malaysian Chinese!! Hainan Chicken Rice is also one of the most popular chinese dishes in Malaysia! One of the best rice dishes in the world!!
Not only has the content been entertaining, but by spending all this time with your dad and filming it, these videos are gonna be gold to look back on when you're much older.
As a food scientist it’s always interesting to watch these episodes. Chef Lee has a very good understanding of what techniques and methods are best for preparing a certain dish, but the understanding/explanation for why it’s done is often skewed. His intuition and ability to learn from different cultures are some of the best I’ve seen.
That meal looks amazing. Your dad is so entertaining to watch when he cooks. He must have a lot of energy and good memory to be able to keep track of multiple pots cooking on the stove.
Amazing job!!! Great content constantly pushing the envelope being more and more original and creative. Love seeing the organic vibes. Impeccable Levi Impeccable. Thoroughly impressive!! Applause 👏🏽
That family time is way more important than filming til the very end! Never apologize for putting the camera down and having real conversations with the people you love!❤❤
I love Master Of Susur cooking because he's just creating. You don't know what he's going to make next mix with what. On top of that technique with knife skills top notch. we all want to be able to cook so to watch someone really be able to cook and understand balance in different flavors along with culture. Makes me want to learn as well.
Susur's version of Hainan chicken looks so good. I love how he does his chicken flavour rice.. the fried shallot garnishes.. and the ginger/green onion sauce. It looks so good!!!
I wish I was younger and started a career in cooking like ur dad I love how he can turn fast food and others turning it into a $500 garments meal and honestly I wanna see more new videos of you and ur dad cooking good food man this is awesome 👌
Much love frmo Singapore! Hainan chicken rice was one of the few dishes I really missed while studying in Buffalo, really happy that youre bringing this dish to the world out there!
I've been eating this dish since I was young, easily one of my favorites. I could down so much of the rice just by itself. Thanks for showing the world this hidden gem! 🙏
Fucking papa Iron man always speaking so deep, "it's the moment!" I love this man's approach to cooking. So much passing so much technique so much thought put into it
I sure know this dish really well.... one of the best ways to cook chicken! I love the texture of the chicken skin with oyster sauce and steamed rice! Comfort food at it's best! Classic!
Surprised I don't see many Singaporean in the chat. HAINANESE CHICKEN RICE REPRESENT! It looks absolutely wonderful. I can see a fusion of Thai, Hong Kong, and of course most importantly, Singaporean style in your Dad's take on the Hainanese Chicken Rice. Simply lovely! I could smell it and goddamn am I hungry right now.
One of my fav dishes growing up. The onion ginger oil is sooo bomb... I could smell all the yumminess through the screen 🤤 I would love learning from your dad 👌
Another 🔥 vlog! Levi your dad is a great chef and I like seeing his process. Could you do us all a favor and ask him to cook something EASY and HEALTHY? I want to cook more at home but I’m just figuring out the basics!! Appreciate bro!
Levi 200k special you should fly a fan out and have Susur cook an amazing meal and get to truly experience one of these videos. like so he can see! wouldn't that be unreal?!
The processing plant for Jidori Chicken is in DTLA. They are the provider for all the restaurants and markets in LA, and ship overnight to other cities. I'm sure your dad can get the direct hookup for birds from the plant.
I really got to give props to Levi he's really making an effort to keep it consistent and we appreciate that. King Susur, papa Iron.... Yes great chemistry with all his kids when they're cooking I actually would expect Kai. but Levi's contrast with his dad because they talked so different Dads so focused while Levi is so trying to catch every detail. It's their wave right now. The Bros I want to see some videos from you guys man Kai Jet let's go
