Kirk Hammett solos are very easy on the ear. No note sounds out of place and everything just flows nicely. He’s a humble man and a great musician to boot! Plus, his horror memorabilia collection is EPIC!!

My favorite Kirk solo has always been Blackened. There's everything in it. It's melodic, it shreds, there's tapping, and some whammy.

Those solos are briliiant, and only with "simple" pentatonics. Masterpiece

why do you think it’s only pentatonic? i hear chromatic, major, dorian, aeolian etc… but obviously a lot of pentatonic especially in the longer parts (which was was his trademark in the first two records)…
@@frankpfau9054 you are right. I had to be more precise. MOSTLY pentatonic. But is out of any doubt that it is his trademark :)

man he plays modes,uses minor scale around the keyboard,plays 3 string sweep parts,makes dive bomb,cromatic progressions,makes tonal changes and more... how it can be only simple pentatonics ?
It takes a special talent to even replicate Kirks solos to this level, which really just speaks to what a special talent Kirk is for creating these masterpieces. No matter what Mustaine or anyone else says Kirks work is truly special, especially on the earlier albums

Kirk's solos are simple but hard because of how fast they are. Always loved his playing.
The Day That Never Comes is in the top 10 for me, that run towards the end is just perfect
My (personal) favorite guitar solo of his is actually from Shortest Straw.
It’s really unique and I’d argue one of the more difficult ones to get 100% right.
I 100% see why. It’s all of his solos on crack! In my top 20.

After years of listening to metal music and got to know a lot of amazing guitar player, I know that Kirk is not the best in term of skills and techniques. But listening to this is kind of bring me back to the root of where I start or why I love metal music and play guitar. Maybe Kirk is not known as the best of all the time, but he is the reason why so many people in this world start to play guitar. Kirk Hammett and Metallica will always have special place in my heart! Thanks for the video, amazing play!
If you thought kirk hammet wrote the solo for ride the lighting and kill em all. You lived a life of ignorance. It was the writing of Dave Mustane. Any solo after those album was kirk. And it sound like shit. No musicality at all. Especially master of puppets solo. Just a bunch of random notes. Such an anticlimax to a great song master of puppets.

@@irispadilla9467 you have that the wrong way round. All Mustaine’s Metallica solos are just a bunch of notes and all sound pretty much the same. Kirk may not be as good of a guitarist but his solos shit over Dave’s as far as fitting the songs and being interesting.

One of the most killer ones he ever did was 'The Struggle Within'. Sick stuff. He also has a bunch if memorable and tasty jams off the Load/ReLoad albums but the eletists won't admit it.
He was very melodic on Load and ReLoad, his solo on Fuel is kind of underrated I think
You never hear a bad word about the fella. You never see him overplay his hand. He knows his limits ( which is still insanely amazing) and a rock solid guitar player. Everything you want in your band.
The solos match the songs so well. Fade to black, for me, is the greatest metal song ever written. It showed what can be done in the genre. The solo is amazing. And to do it as an outro. Wow!

Fade to Black is the best! Kirk has a special talent in the phrasing and flow of his solos.
Notice how almost all are from the early days (1st few albums). It was an epic moment in time for Metallica!
Many people jokes about Kirk, but he's got a lot of incredible solos, for sure. Fade to black, Creeping Death and Ride the lighting my favourite. Great transitions, man.
This was insane! You've got those solos dialed. And watching your hands close up like this really points out the fact that, despite the naysayers, Kirk is an awesome guitar player. Well done, man!

Kirk has to be one of the most constantly stated guitarist names when people get asked on their influences or who got them into wanting to play guitar….for me it’s Kirk, dime, Wylde, alexi, slash, and satriani….legends
There are many faster and more technical guitarists out there, some of them rated very highly.....but few can even dream of making memorable solos like Kirk Hammett.
During my school days i grew up listening to music🎧🎶specially a big fan of mettalica. Now I'm 50yrs still I'm enjoying a lot

Awesome job. Kirk gets so much undeserved hate, but I think that besides being a great person, he has also created some of the best solos and much more memorable than some of the "virtuosos" in metal.

I always thought The Frayed Ends of Humanity has one of the most underrated solos, and the riff that leads up to it is epic. Unfortunately it gets lost in all the other songs in that album.
Entire list invalidated by the omission of the solo for the first Unforgiven. That is one of Kirk's finest solo's ever!

Kirk might be criticized by other guitar shredders but he is pleasing to the ear. Without giving u headache. Kirk will always be inspirational to me!!
Shedding is simple. Anyone can practice scales and go up and down the fret board. These criticisms come mostly from jealousy. "Shredding" isn't impressive at all...
