You lower the water below the skimmer? What about using a cover over the faceplate and keeps the water level high. I can't fill with my well I have to have water delivered.
@@cpoul Yes, This is the 1st year I found out about the face plate cover for the skimmer basket and a plug for the water return. So keeping the water level high this year. Thank for your response.
You’ll have to keep an eye on that. If it starts to pull too much on the cover just pump some out. But you do want some weight in there for winter storm protection

What do you do about rain filling up in the cover? Will it become to heavy?
