Bonded Together • Pokémon Ruby Sapphire Hardcore Soul Link Nuzlocke • Episode 18

Welcome to our Pokémon Ruby Sapphire Hardcore Soul Link Nuzlocke! Zeke has wanted to do a soullocke for a while now and since Truth and Tom just finished their nuzlocke of Pokémon White the only person left to partner up with Zeke was a very reluctant Quiz.

Nuzlocke rules are as follows:
Basic Rules:
1) All Pokémon must be nicknamed
2) The player may only catch the first wild Pokémon encountered in each area
3) Any Pokémon that faints are considered dead and must be boxed
4) Dupe Clause: If the first encounter is a Pokémon previously caught by the player, it can be disregarded as the "first encounter" for that route
5) When a player runs out of Pokémon, it is considered "Game Over"
6) Shiny Clause: If the player encounters a shiny Pokémon, they are allowed to catch that Pokémon even if they have already caught a Pokémon for that route
Hardcore Rules:
1) The player may not use items in battle. Pokémon may hold items, but no items from the bag (except for balls) may be used
2) The player may not enter battle with any of their Pokémon past the level of the next Gym Leader or Champion's highest leveled Pokémon. Any over-levelled Pokémon must be boxed temporarily
3) The battle style must be changed to "set", meaning the player does not get the opportunity to switch out their Pokémon after an opponent's Pokémon faints
4) Rare candies may not be used
Soul Link Rules:
1) Encounters for players on each route are linked. If one player fails to catch their encounter, the other player must box their encounter for that route as well. If both players successfully catch their first encounter for that route, those two Pokémon are "linked"
2) When one player's Pokémon faints, its partner on the other player's team must be boxed as well
3) Dupe Clause: If the first encounter is a Pokémon caught by the other player, that species may be disregarded ONCE as the "first encounter" for that route.
