Nuzlocke rules:
Fainted Pokemon must be permanently boxed
Only the first encounter on any given route may be caught (dupes clause)
All pokemon must be nicknamed
Hardcore Rules:
No items in battle (only held)
No overleveling the next gym leader

I was in the same situation during my first playthrough of Alpha Sapphire. Every other Pokemon but my Sceptile knocked out, and I'm facing against Mega Metagross. Sceptile lived a Tough Claws-boosted Giga Impact and proceeded to knock out Metagross.
Compared to an Emerald Grass-only run I've seen, Grass-types got a major buff in the span between Gen 3 and Gen 6. Did you know the Lotad line gets no offensive Water-type moves by level up in Gen 3 until level 49 as a Lombre? Nuts.
back then as well they had hardly any offensive moves for grass and giga drain was only 60BP with 5PP like wtf. Aside from two turn solar beam or leaf blade which only sceptile can learn its pretty cooked

same i love fire types more and i like tepig because it has really high hp stat and a bit high defense and plus it has two types so if a super effective pokemon is there tepig pignite or emboar can use another move to ohko it! has high attack as well btw.

I’m sadly not good enough to be able to do hardcore nuzlocke so I have to find time to train so I can one day be good enough to do it.
Don’t know how often you read the comments, but as a new subscriber it would be cool to see you do a Normal mono type run one day in any main line Pokémon game since the move pool of most normal type Pokémon are insane!

My favorite Grass type is Turtwig, because Diamond was my first Pokémon game and I was obsessed with turtles as a kid. I'm also a big sucker for the World Turtle mythos that Torterra is inspired by.

I did a mono grass on Emerald a while back, a really fun and unique run with the selection available. Might try Ground next! I always give my characters names that are gym leader appropriate too lmao

My favourite Grass type has become Cherrim, love the shiny form and Cherrim changing in sunny weather is a cool mechanic. The shiny form is very cool too!

My favourite grass-type is Roserade. I used it in Pokémon X and have loved it ever since. Also it gave me more of an appreciation for the ability Poison Point.

I will say, since x & y, i think the grass starters have gotten the more interesting and more impressive evolutionary forms. The fire and water ones just seem to grow little bits and get some minor aesthetic changes while the Grass ones seem to grow more and become more visually interesting/impressive......maybe with the exception of litten to incineroar

Your voice is insanely soothing to listen to, especially when trying to fall asleep, despite being one of the more energetic and exciting hardcore nuzlocke narrators.
Roserade is my fav grass type. When roselia first came out I thought it was pretty cute, then I found out its like 1 foot tall and I was like OMG TINY ROSE LUL! Then gen 4 came out and made it even MORE powerful and I was like yeap, I love this thing.
I think Grass Hardmode Nuzlockes are incredibly fun because even though grass has many weaknesses, grass pokémon have powerful tools to deal with them, such as Leech Seed, Powder moves and such. It makes many Nuzlocke battles very intense. It is also my favorite type, so I could be a little biased on that. Anyways, great run as always. I hope to see more Grass runs, I think Sword/Shield and X/Y could be very entertaining as well.

I love Sceptile and Decidueye. Reptile with leaf blade and an owl robin hood are the coolest ideas ever
My personal favorite is Treeko, closely followed by breloom. Also hoenn is my favorite generation so this is amazing!

When I Nuzlocked ORAS recently with my friend, we used Mega Evolutions only in a fight if atleast one of our team members died during it. It was a pretty interesting restriction to it!

My favorite grass types are Treecko, Grovyle, Sceptile, Swadloon, Tangrowth, Chesnaught, Rowlet, Decidueye, Tsareena, Zarude, Grookey, and Rillaboom.

I have some other then mono type Ideas for hardcore Nuzlockes: 1. Only use Pokemon with no secondary typing 2. Only use stab attacks on every Pokemon (combining these would make for a real challenge) 3. Only use signature pokemon of other Poketubers

I have a nostalgic attachment to Snivy. It was one of the first pokemon cards I ever got (which was how I was introduced to pokemon), then my first episode of the anime was the episode where Ash takes on 'Dragon buster' Georgia(?) in the battle club tournament, and he used snivy against her pawniard. I just kinda fell in love with Snivy 😊
Fun fact about the dexnav, I’m doing an omega Ruby Nuzlocke and if you sneak through the grass in Petalburg Woods until the you fight the shroomish trainer on the other side of it, you can back track and wait for a hidden shroomish to pop up on the dex nav that knows wake up slap

I started a hardcore nuzlocke in Emerald with grass type Pokémon only a few days ago. Roxanne's Nosepass kill both my Treecko and Shroomish with Rock Tomb. Two crits in a row. That was a great start... At least I won on the second attempt. Lombre alone coulnd't carry it all.

Favorite Grass type is Mega Sceptile and Torterra. Both absolutely POOP on their opposing starters and Sceptile was always the “cool guy” pokemon in the anime which as a kid I thought was dope.

Tropius is my favorite Grass type and one of my favorite Pokemon in general, but there are a lot of grass types I like. Definitely an underrated type. I swept through sword and shield with an own tempo Lilligant, trained in speed and special attack. Set up a quiver dance or two, and then pedal dance everything into oblivion. It's like easy mode.
Fun fact: similar to your Odale ordeal, I never knew how to leave Slateport as a kid so I grinded out on Plusles and Gulpins to evolve my Combusken (8 year old me somehow thought that would let me leave)
