Grand risings King. Your courage in shopping brings hope to all us adventerous nerds looking to enjoy innovation internationally. Alibaba has so many specials and this particular pickup would be great for Fort Worth Texas
By chance do you have an Instagram page. I would love to communicate further with you as I am now shopping for electronic investments. Your decorum is exceptional and one would trust your networks.
Wow. The man was so honest. He didn't check the battery. Lol
This is so awesome, love these quirky but awesome Chinese stuff!
Omg, my English is horrible. Yes, I'm Robert in the video. I hope you will enjoy the truck.
Thanks Robert, and you did great!

I'm really impressed by the sellers communication. That's a great level of customer service considering that you're really not spending that much money.
Well 116k people are seeing this video. So thats advertisement
hm is this
They may know he's an influencer, but know that you or I have basically no legal recourse with goods purchased from China. The Chinese government does not care and the US government has no power. They could send you a vehicle that's a total lemon and breaks in three weeks and you would have no buyer protection, as alibaba gives only the most basic protection with returns for 2-weeks, and likely you would have to pay the return shipping fee which for a truck could be huge since you don't get the commercial discounted shipping rates.
@@BoopSnoot It's fine to buy from Alibaba if you find a highly rated /reputable manufacturer and set up a good line of communication (as seen in this video.)
I'm no influencer but have had similar excellent service experience buying construction machinery from China.
But we are different use cases as I don't live in the USA and shipping to my country from China is fast.
@@Simonisms Its just so much safer to buy from a distributor in your own country, as then they have to abide by all laws in your country and you have full protection of the law. With a Chinese company direct import, if there is any problem, you're at the mercy of the kindness of the company of a Chinese company that often change names every couple of years and have virtually no brand value to protect in general, as they don't have a culture of forming long term relationships with their customers the way say Apple does.
When a $2,200 truck has the same size bed as a new Ranger, lol. There's so many simple mods you can do to these things to make them faster, and it's not too expensive to add more battery packs!
Lol that's when the fun begins
Tesla motor swap..😆

$2,000? Damn that's cheap
I'm trying to order one now
Haha, I have to tell you that my 70-year-old neighbor has a similar one. I'm in China.
He uses it to pick up his granddaughter to kindergarten every day.
The factory in China deliberately reduced the power of the vehicle's engine so that he could not drive very fast, so he did not need a license or even a driver's license.
It has air conditioning, can protect against wind and rain, can also transport goods if necessary, and even better, it is very slow to ensure safety, which meets almost all the needs of an elderly person.
Sorry I really want to laugh when I look at your young face. This is really an old man's car. 😄
I hope the car exported to the US has a better engine.
Haha old man car!
It’s a toy electric motor, not a gas engine 😬
@@melissasmess2773 Haha factories even use low-power motors so that they can drive without a license
Maybe it is good for the USA for the NEV category (neighborhood electric vehicle) that category can include golf carts if they have proper turn signals and lights, and are limited speed, and limited to roads with speed limits of 35mph or less. **but not as challenging as getting a normal "car" on the road here.
This looks AMAZING! Not sure where you're located but if in SoCal I'd love to see this in person some time

This was awesome! The company rep 'Robert' is pretty cool, seems like a regular guy. You can tell they are an up and coming company. Wild that they did the video call. I think it adds to the confidence level of buying directly from China.
I saw this video and subscribed instantly. You really have no idea how much this information that you’ve shared right here has just saved my life right now.
That's actually kind of cool. I like the transparency of the company very much. I mean these are all pretty much street legal Golf Carts but I like that they're straight up about what they produce.
Great advertisement, first test drive, “Oh the battery died!...I have to push back and charge.” That cracked me up.😂 Cool little truck. I’m looking forward to the EV future, oh yeah, I want one too😁
I purchased a 55 hp 4x4 backhoe from Alibaba. Took over 2 months to get to Panama. Got to the port to pick up the backhoe from the RoRo and the batteries were dead. Had to pay a $125 port jump off fee. Ok, I paid it. Finally got it to my coconut plantation 8 hours away. Jump in the cabin and found out all my electric switches were turned on. A nice little battery charge scam from the port of Panama.
So, I imagine his batteries will be dead being in a shipping container for over a month.
The dump bed sells the whole deal! I would say this vehicle and ones like it could replace 90% of our cars and huge trucks we drive. And we would have so much more fun! I am not agonist big trucks and suvs, I love them, but we had a Austin minor converted to a pickup truck in the ‘70’s, if it had been electric it would have been perfect. Mostly in town driving, we bought and sold items so we’re always needing a small pickup bed. Each stop was like a celebrity photo shoot! Taking all the kids to festivals and fairs and swap meets, and it went everywhere! Looking forward to your first drive .
Absolutely! I would LOVE a little truck like this for just basic work and moving stuff around.
🤷 a bigger Electric Van or a Box Truck
would be the best delivery or freight vehicle
🤷 running cost would be significantly smaller
@@jasperdomacena6491 Yeah but for home use and around the town it's great.
I'm think of getting a Ford Maverick. It's only 25,000 here. I run a lawnmowing buisness and it would be great
You would say that until reality hit home. 3kw is decent electric pushbike power. This isn't going to replace any f150 anytime soon.
Initially I thought it's expensive but when you compared with the golf cart then it made sense.
This is much more practical with a bunch of loaded features.👍🙂
This is not a Tesla with the premium build, premium feel and a premium price tag. You pay for what you get and you aren’t buying a high end electric vehicle. Although I expect it to be more practical than a golf cart.
@@NormanF62 Tesla does NOT have a premium build lol
I stopped using the word "cheap" and started calling stuff I get from China as "affordable". The quality of their products has definitely improved over the years as well as their customer service.
I have been excited about this exact pickup for a while, i wanted a third party review soo bad, thank u man
I'm a retired autoworker and found your video on this truck to be amazing. I never would have thought it possible to purchase a vehicle at this price in today's market. I purchased a Honda car in 1971 and it cost me less than $2 thousand dollars, tax, title, and out the door. It only had a 600cc engine and was the first model Honda imported to the USA. I wish I still had that little car. I got over 40 miles per gallon with the car. It was so small that it had a plastic trunk. It would never pass the rigged restrictions imposed on American cars today. I would like to save up my little retirement income to purchase either the same truck model or the car model.
Super interesting. I appreciate you sharing this unique process with us Micah!
Robert is an amazing sales person! Make sure to give him some tips!
I am so excited to see it arrives 🤗
I love reading those car articles you post! I think I was finding the articles on electrek first then randomly found your youtube channel
Great content!
Sad that restrictive US laws make use so limited.
Lightweight EV use should be encouraged by our laws instead of discouraged and made illegal.
Little EVs FTW!!
Whenever I check your channel I’m always waiting for the next part
I've had my eye on these to use around the farm.
Me too. But there is no way the truck could handle off road or hills with cargo.
@@noti7555 how hard would it be to modify it? compared to expensive side by sides its a good deal
China also have ATV electric with cargo type or mini trailer type you can hookup. I just checked in Alibaba. Cool for farm use. 🇺🇸🇮🇱
I definitely want one🔥
Thanks brother
From what I've seen Chang Lee, despite their low cost actually make pretty good short range evs.
This sounds insane! Can't wait for it to arrive, Micah!

You are the coolest dude! So chill about the whole thing.
I would love to see a video on the do's and don'ts and any other information you have for purchasing an electric vehicle from Alibaba.
thank you for such a great video! that is the truck i wanted to get except in black. i started to order but got confused a little with their emails and then sidetracked. i wondered what the shipping cost was like. thank you for so much information and i just love your laid-back way of dealing with robert and with your presentation. love your smiling and soothing laughter so much. again thank you.
That truck looks sweet, especially with the hydraulic bed
Our large senior community allows golf carts. Are the truck footprint similar?
I wonder if it can dump a full payload without tremendously draining the battery.
Fun fact, petrol bike laws as well EV bike laws vary throughout mainland China.
*Different cities and even districts can be VERY different.
It's basically up to the local government, how they handle and enforce the rules.
In the 70s the us automotive industry was making huge expensive “boats” which gave Toyota and Mazda an opportunity to get established selling cost effective compacts. There’s a huge market of people who don’t want to spend 50,000- 80000 on an over sized SUV. Ford take notice or History is going to repeat...
If this is it No thanks
The body lines are reminiscent (to me) of the 1970s Ford Ranger.
this is great, lol... I really thought I misread the price when first looking at it... paid $2k for my kingsong 16x euc with 3 less wheels and no sunroof! looking forward to seeing some updates when u get it.
congrats on the big channel growth btw, been a subscriber since 2017 or so back from the battery pack building days.
“Oh, your battery is dead!” Lmao.
The bed makes it easy to dump your crazy girlfriend. Hell yeah dude I'll pull you out, but 1st, have you seen a charger out here in the woods?
I totally saw that article, I never thought you'd buy it!
Such a great level of customer service. I wonder how many other automobile manufacturers will show you around like this.
*If considering this, from what I've seen...:*
1. Consider a nearly identical crew cab model with 4 doors, make bed extension over tailgate if desired.
2. Forget $2,000, the costs usually come out closer to $3,500+/-$500 with options, usually a motor and/or battery upgrade.
3. Most report $2,500+/-$500 total shipping and transportation, totaling out $5,000 to $6,000.
4. Most importers/resellers charge $8,000 or more, so probably worthwhile to pursue yourself.
5. Frequently takes a very long time to ship.
6. Because of cost, time, and interest I would suggest ordering more than 1, selling the others in their stripped down version, look at how many can fit into 1 shipping container.
7. Getting street legal has been a mixed bag, generally but not always considered the same as a golf cart (check state regs), check HOA regulations if using as golf cart in a private community.
8. Most report it is built well, only knocks have been rough suspension and rust on the underside, might check on getting rust proofing, or coating the bottom with pickup bed liner with periodic touchup.
9. Primary use has been getting around and light work on large properties, think of it as replacing a John Deere Gator or golf cart. Personally I think this would have been great on our family farm, replacing using a pickup just to deliver bodies, tools, parts, meals, etc. to/from the fields.
10. Common upgrades have been solar panels to extend battery, piston for bed lift (I would suggest a heavy electric linear actuator or similar), DC to AC power convertors for 120Vac, short wave radios, I think factory offers AC. I would also suggest spray in bed liner, tie downs, removable bed covering, seat covers, spare tire, see if can add a 2nd set of batteries, and your choice of racing striped or a monster truck custom paint job.
This has become a very efficient business model M2C - Manufacturer-to-Consumer. 👍
Can't wait for no more dealerships.

Interested for how Customs deals with this and the import tax you will need to pay.
@@FarmerFpv Do you have a link for that thing?

Cute little pick up. I went to the manufacturer’s site and while it gave a decent amount of information, it didn’t give payload capacity. Also, is it street legal?
Flood the market with these trucks and say goodbye to climate crisis.

You could order a bunch of them and start a dealership
That truck looks like its going to be fun. Can't wait for it to arrive.
Love the truck, I want one. How hard will it be to get a Florida tag? How long does it take to charge?
Basically impossible sadly. Doesn't meet import reqs
So in Florida, low speed vehicles can be driven on the street if the posted speed limit is 35 or less.
No registration is required, it will be street "legal" for basically neighborhood driving or as a grocery getter if you can take side streets.
Honestly, for the price, not bad at all. I live literally 5 mins away from the grocery store, this literally would eliminate me needing to use my gas vehicle basically entirely except for my commute
@@MustachioFurioso9134 ooh, that actually makes it kinda awesome then
@@marcusborderlands6177 yeah, I was thinking about the logistics and how useful a vehicle like this would be.
Doesn't need a large battery because...well it's a neighborhood commute vehicle. Doesn't have to be fast... because well, it's only driving on streets of 35 and below anyway. And doesn't really have to be big, because it's basically functioning as a great alternative to a golf cart. And on top of all that, it doesn't require registration...
It's really, to be honest, a market that I think ChangLi could break into here in the United States.
The finishing looks a little rough but regardless, looks awesome!

It probably has the same parts.
I can't wait to hear how you make out. would love to see an unpacking video and hear about your experience registering the vehicle. also, what is the top speed in Miles/Hour? and how many miles will it go on a full charge! looking forward to more videos on this!!
I hope their company gets a lot more traffic after this, they deserve it for that level of transparency. Watching this after TheInja's incident with his 30k electric car is so refreshing
Many elderly drive this around in rural areas around small cities in China. They are by no mean street legal, but that’s how they get around now. They used to drive those single cylinder diesel tricycles with a dump bed that release like a ton of black soot as they go. Now they just use this as it’s much more affordable.
I can't wait for you to unbox it.
imagine filling the bed with batteries and getting insane range
exactly what I thought
And take it to the ocean shore
why not solar panel on the hood, and the top of it. then you could have in the second seat a a little recumbent bike that could charge the battery. now you can go anywhere. plus if you have a passenger with you, they have something to do besides be on their phone
That would weigh a tonne, hindering acceleration greatly.
It's doubtful you could *go* any 'insane range' on the road in the US in that, and what would be the point in taking a cheap pickup there if you couldn't carry anything but batteries? :)
Greeeaaaat! So you got me into ebikes and battery building through your videos and blogs and now I want an electric mini truck. S'all good, I can slowly change the narrative with my wife after I get my Sondors Metacycle and sell my custom-built bafang 1000W bike, lol. But, for real, wanna see the final outcome of this. Good stuff.
This is great customer service! I'd love to have one to get to my offroad farming property. But there is zero chance they'd let me drive it in Germany. No matter if it's safe, the german car industry is way to influential. B.t.w. I'm waiting for my solar/electric car Sion (Sono motors germany), I really hope you'll be able to feature it once it hits the streets.
You cannot drive this in Germany even on your own off road property? That's incredibly odd. Here in the US, at least the MN state, these cars can get registered as Low Speed electric vehicles, which won't make them highway legal but you can go on any street marked up to 35mph. I'm not sure if there is a classification or process in Germany that is similar
I love your bicycle clock!
Looks cool. I look forward to learning about how hard it is to get it registered.
should be easy. vehicles like this are classified as nev (neighborhood electric vehicle) so they are exempt from a lot of specs required for highway vehicles but you are restricted as to where you can drive them.
Yeah its not going to get a.regular plate but still would awesome around some property or as a work site truck
You just treat it like a neighborhood golf cart. Right? You may have to get cautionary triangles on front and back like a farm tractor. I would put golf course wheels on it and play golf with it!
@@AlexAquarius963 🤣. I would love to see one of those on the golf course.

Can't wait to see you take delivery! He took his to Michigan for inspection by an engineering QA expert and they were impressed.
Given how cheap they make vehicles. I wonder if they could make electric conversion kits to update older US street legal vehicles to electricity, upgrade electronics and refresh interiors.

You may want to brace yourself for the 25% tariff on this fun little toy. Or do a little preliminary work in effort to avoid it. As a light truck, CBP may be applying what's referred to as the chicken tax. (not making this up.) Good luck and have fun!
I've been teaching your alibaba articles for months now! Been wanting to pick up an alibaba electric car for a long time, glad to see you're getting one to review soon :)
I don't think your review as regards the price is correct , i checked few minutes ago and the asking price for their basic pickup is $7k plus and you can ere saying $2k plus , is there something going on that i don't know ?? Kindly look into it.
you may have found a "trading company" instead of the "factory" I have noticed on Alibaba many people are 'selling' what the factories are producing, get closer to the source and you can find a better price.
Hey Micah, we’re you able to get the Lee Chang truck licensed for street use in the US?
As a low speed vehicle, maybe. Lot more lee-way with them
This was my question also, how would registration/insurance work? I'm very interested in buying one myself!
I doubt you'd even use that in the streets... Those things are pretty slow and are designed to go on bicycle lanes in china which is why you don't need a lisence for them.
can't wait for the follow up!
I'm literally crying laughing over here!

Wtf, didn’t even know something like that existed! Very cool!!
I would be very interested in a truck like that. I currently have an electric golf cart for my camping trips. Working on upgrading the electronics to solid state and also upgrading the motor.
