We're in West Harlem at the Faison Firehouse Theater - a nearly 32-foot-wide former firehouse built in the Beaux-Arts style in 1909. Today it serves as a theater, creative hub, and home of owner and artistic director George Faison, a Tony Award-winning dancer and choreographer. This is truly personalized design - by a New York original. Every inch of the private residence is filled with memories of George's long and rich career in theater.

Born and raised in Harlem in the late 30's thru the early 50's. Hung out in Harlem thru the 60's. Had a wonderful childhood and great memories. Thank you Mr. Faison for keeping the best of our heritage in Harlem. Beautiful use of an old firehouse. The best always. We are a people that love and appreciate the arts. Whether it's music, dance the theater or other forms of expression, we need the arts in our life.

How special it was to rehearse and perform at the Firehouse!
I worked on my speeches (Adam Clayton Powell, JR.) with Edwin Robinson on one floor and tried to dance on another floor... What a JOY!!!!!
