@@millervintagehifi3034 Hi. I did this re-damping for my daughter's 2050C. It seemed to go really well BUT THEN. When I played to the runoff grooves to test automatic shutoff, the Control Lever (OFF/ON/PLAY) went berserk and slammed to/fro between Off and ON so fast I couldn't count but say 5 times. It dented the rear rim of the deck opening within which the lever operates! HELP. What did I do? I did the same as in the video. BUT having reviewed your video just now, I see that I did use too much 300K CST silicone. Tony
Hi in relation to the auto stop mechanism, in the manual it has how to adjust the leading and lagging of the auto stop. What do they mean by leading and lagging of the auto stop lift?
It all depends on why the tone arm won't raise...if it's stuck, then it's possible that re-damping will fix it. It's probably more likely that something is misaligned/disconnected/broken underneath. I use 300,000 cst silicone oil.
Thanks for showing what is now a semi-lost art...turntable maintenance. Thanks for your time!
Well, it's my attempt at servicing them :)

I would assume it's lifting too early (leading) or lifting too late (lagging), but that's just a guess.

If 'slow' = staying on 33 RPM, then I'd check the guide that moves the belt on the spindle to ensure it's working properly.

Hi. What CST rating did your diff fluid have? I am about to re-do my 2050C. Tnx
300,000
Thank you! Mine won't raise the tone arm either. will re-damping my tone arm help with that issue? Also, what type of silicone are you using?
