    Wool seats: yes please
    I think I need this. I think I want it too.

    Great video, and as an XC 90 Inscription owner, completely agree! For me, my vehicle is a pleasure / decompression chamber, and the last thing I want to do is futz around tap-tapping and swiping on a screen and wading through menus. So the appealing part of this car for me is not the tech, for all the reasons you state, but its gorgeous looks and great ride / driving dynamics. And 40 miles of range is more than enough for my needs. I've seen these in various colors / trims at the dealer, and photo / video does not do it justice. Always fair and balanced, and today, spot on! Nobody does it better than you, Steve!

    Biggest Recharge secret: if your planned trip exceeds battery range, and if the route is in navigation, the battery is apportioned over the entire trip, wherever advantageous. This is a significant fuel saving feature on a longer drive. (It’s a secret because no one reads the owners manual.)

      But what is annoying is if it’s a two way trip, it will exhaust it all on one way 😂

      Do you mean that you made a there-and-back route and it still depleted the battery in one way or were the "there" and "back" trips separate from each other in the navigation?@@yurykorsky67

      @@yurykorsky67 I have good news! Once underway, first, enter your round-trip destination, then enter your “waypoint” so your battery is utilized for the round-trip. The details are in the owners manual..

    I call this the ultimate daily driver. Fantastic car, no doubt! I love the wool blend seats, but it seems no one has them. Just regular leather, or the "black edition" seats that resemble the OG R-Design ones. They are all fine, don't get me wrong, but this is just different. So clean.

      Untill your kid pours yoghurt all over the back seats

    Steve, I noticed the car doesn't have paddle shifters. How did you get on with the transmission during overtaking and hard acceleration and also in general? I really like Volvo design approach and can live with the shortcomings you mentioned. Also are the buttons on the wheel real buttons or touch capacitive?

    As the owner previously of a ‘22, and currently of a ‘23 (23,000 miles combined), I agree with this presentation. After all pros and cons, net/net it’s a great car. And as pointed out, quite exclusive. I see 10+ XC60s in my area for every S60. And one out of 100 Volvos one sees is a T8 Recharge.
    Biggest positive (not obvious in a brief evaluation), my total one year fuel consumption, 11/1/22 to 10/31/23 . . . 104 mpg; ~$35 a month to charge.The 400HP ‘22 (a 22 mile battery) got 58 mpg; ~$13 a month to charge. (My electric averages 16.8¢ per kWh.) My last BMW 240HP 4 cyl ICE, driven the same way, 29.7 mpg.
    Biggest surprise: in warm weather the battery charges to 50 miles or more. My car is plugged in every night, overnight.
    Biggest disappointment, the ‘22 phone app was wonderful, had (and stored!) all the technical performance data one could remotely hope for, it spoiled me. The ‘23 app is relatively useless. The improved app update has been promised now for 15 months, extremely disappointing.

    I agree with the looks and Volvo seats are amazing. I got to drive an XC40 and I really liked the handling, should imagine a sedan is even better. The G70 though is amazing value though and has the looks as well. Top of my list is a Giulia just because I want the best handling but the nearest dealer is day's drive away and I am too chicken to own one out of warranty.

    Great car - looks cool
    Just don’t like the vents. I feel like they could’ve made the smaller/ change the angle allowing for a bigger screen

    I love my 2014 s60 and eventually it will be time to upgrade, but I do wish there were more physical buttons in these newer volvos. There's no reason why temperature control should be on the center screen.

    Hi Steve! The price seems fair relative to the power output and electric range, but the infotainment is super dated.

    • @karacha
      @karacha 3 місяці тому +2

      They will probably update their infotainment to look similar to the new EX tablet-style displays in additional to the regular driver display/digital cockpit at some point. For better or for worse... it's a matter of taste.

      @@karachaAs an S60 owner I much prefer the integrated screen ilo a “pop-up” added on look.

    • @karacha
      @karacha 3 місяці тому +1

      I am with you on this 100%. I tend to prefer simple, elegant interiors that are easy to figure out, and the infotainment is integrated into the dashboard. But then... you'll find plenty of people who think this is "dated". @@billurban1581

      Interesting that you mentioned the Camry. I went to see and drive the 2025 refreshed Camry. The XSE fully loaded can be in the low $40,000s. I found it boring and bland to sit in it. The quality and efficiency are high. There are 100s, of thousands of those Camrys out there. Meanwhile, these days you can get the base core S60 in the low $40,000s. I rather own and drive a base S60 for that price than a loaded Camry any day. The feel and the driver experience is not even comparable. Additionally, it stands out and is more exclusive. I'll likely be getting a Denim Blue Core Dark Blond Interior S60 soon in the low $40,000s maybe even under with incentives
