- This time, we drive the more powerful PoleStar tuned S60 T8 plug-in hybrid up our favorite mountain road.
Seriously, I never thought that this PHEV could be so much fun to drive: Volvo is usually associated with safety but it seems that performance is also one of its design objectives.

Mini heart attack when uncle hard brakes when seeing road hazard cones and dude. My oh my this Volvo really sticks in corners. One of my dream car, the S60!

As a 2020 Volvo S60 owner I can't get enough of this video! You can drive a car man. Mine is still equipped with paddle shifters. it looks like Volvo no longer offers them. Keep up the good work. Greetings from Belgium👍

great driving ... love the video ! It would be nicer if you can have a portion showing the dashboard / meters as well . I was gripping the edge of my table watching this , great driving skills ! Towards the end when there were several cones & a fella was standing .. i thought it was a road block ! Overall the video and driving skills is superb !

There's always drivers that aren't checking their mirrors and challenging cars that are familiar going up the hill... That Harrier & BMW driver gotta start learning to give way to someone driving a faster car and more importantly more experience going uphill FAST! As usual great driving Uncle Khong!
We just have to take everything in our stride. After all, it is not a race, so we can afford to wait a little, but you are right, if people are more alert, then driving is more fun all round.

Some misconceptions about the extended range T8.
1) The combined power output for the Malaysian market (engine code H2 B4204T53) is 462ps and 709nm, not 607nm.
2) The engine block is not the T5 block with more power even though it is only turbocharged now. It is still the same T6 block with the same B03G turbo minus the supercharger, and double water jacket; where else the T5 block is a K03.3 and single water jacket design. The new B4204T53 also has reduced friction compared to the previous B4204T35 on the earlier T8s.
3) Contrary to what the passenger said, the Polestar tune for the extended range T8s does not produce more peak power. The peak is still 462ps. Polestar shifted the torque and power curves in different rpm ranges without increasing the peak output. It is not “more than 462ps”.

What does the tune do if it doesn’t increase power? Does it increase acceleration through faster gear shift?
@@dzod9574 It optimises the shift points, gear holding, throttle response, as well as power & torque curves within the mid-range. There are power increases within certain rpm, but peak power remains the same.
@@NTLovesMusic would it therefore increase 0-60 time on extended range T8? I have yet to read anything confirming performance increase.

S60 is a good car, but Camry is more affordable. Camry no stock, so S60 should be more readily available

I was thinking why volvo pushed up their prices recently by changing the T to a B, and charging RM50k more.
I believe the new facelift comes with a electric supercharger apart from a turbo. Any chance of volvo bringing in the v60 cross country?

Harlo uncle. 100k budget what car should i go for in term of handling and power.
For this price, we should look at what is available, then see which is the best.
I would look at the Vios, City, Almera, WRV, maybe the X50. Adding another 10k to the budget opens up a few more like the Omoda5 and the higher spec X50.
Look at tue cars you like and then chsck if you can afford it. Also look at perhaps a used car perhaps a year or two old.

I find it very annoying that the S60 comes without paddle shifters. A vios with 200+ hp lesser than this volvo comes with the paddle shifters and this car doesn’t unfortunately 🤦🏼♂️

With polestar technology...not need the manual shift...they senaitive enough to react what you need....very fun
