People are absolutely getting tired of the Disney greed so I'd love to continue to see more alternatives like this for keeping Orlando vacations affordable. Great video Dev!

Last time we did Disney for 5 days, then the Adventura for 3... We IMMEDIATELY decided to cut out Disney all together this trip! The ride are amazing & both kids can go on way more because most are virtual reality type rides. The lines move faster(a worker told me it's because there's more cars & multiple at 1 time that hold more people than Disney's do). Maybe if they updated a little!

We stayed at the DoubleTree Christmas 2020 for prestay prior to going to our Westgate. What I absolutely LOVED is that you can reserve your rides while in hotel room for Universal and IOA because you are considered being on park grounds!! Yes that means...you can reserve your spot for Hagrids❤❤

I'm literally juggling 2 devices doing research on hotels 4 next week. Usually we stay at Adventura, but we're staying for 8 nights this time, so it's a little expensive(plus they sold out). Happy 2 know you can reserve rides @ that hotel.

Interesting to hear. I might consider that but you DO get a perk if staying at the hotels on Adventure Way as those are official Universal Hotels. I stayed at Cabana Bay and qualified for Early Entry, which is one hour before the normal morning crowds.

Thank you for thinking of most people who can't plunk down a chunk of change for a vacation. Lots of park vloggers don't pay much attention to what's affordable for most people. I appreciate your thoughtfulness. 👍❤️😁

I am a a big walker. I stayed at one of the Rosen hotels. It was about 45 minute walk. Piece of cake. I think hotel was around 40 bucks per night . I enjoyed the walk. Stopped at fridays on way back for dinner

Love love love these videos! As a former CP, I’ve seen first hand guests get literally denied entry when they used one of those discount ticket booths. If it’s too good to be true, it probably is!!

My husband was on a jury where one of these bogus ticket places were being sued. They were found guilty, but they just pay the fine and keep suckering in people trying to save a buck.

Me & my friend always stay at the Double Tree 🌳 🌳 during our girls trip every year. We feel very safe there. No matter what time you get in during the night , workers are everywhere. They have a Starbucks on property. A ice cream/ candy shop . A grill / bar . Very nice property and when you check in , you get warm chocolate chip cookies 🍪.

Me and my husband actuary stayed at that Hyatt Place for HHN, did the same walk and all. For the price it’s great. We had a good experience. Nothing to really complain about. We are also Hyatt Members so we bounce around the Hyatt hotels. Our go to is the Hyatt on international drive Convention, BUT to be close to universal, those are definitely worth trying. Great video 👍🏻

Hi Dev, just wanted to say a huge thank you for this vlog!! We stayed at the holiday inn last night to be close to universal and felt so confident walking the route to universal this morning after you explained it so well. As someone with anxiety the quieter security at valet parking was amazing. Thanks for the videos they have seen us through lockdowns and illnesses and something we all enjoy to watch as a family.

I stayed at Endless Summer Surfside June 2021. Very nice rooms. Good amenities and super nice staff. Was suppose to be $88/night before fees & taxes but for some reason was $112/night base price. Still affordable and would book there again.

First time I took my family to Universal we stayed at the Holiday Inn. We had to cross that road, with 5 kids, it was a little scary. We also found a door open in the garage to cut our walking time. Love these videos Dev, Thanks!

A wee hotel recommendation - when I use to fly to Orlando for work (cabin crew with Emirates Airline in Dubai, UAE) we stayed at the Crowne Plaza Universal Boulevard, it's incredibly close to Universal and any time I've checked it out online and it's around $100/£74 a night and I would honestly recommend staying at this hotel. I've stayed around 9 times at this hotel between 2016 -
2019, its good value for money, hotel rooms are lovely and big, nice pool area with a tiki bar, good gym, staff are amazing, ticket office, shuttle buses to all theme parks in the area, ticket office for the theme parks and other attractions, short Uber drive from the outlet malls and Mall of Millena and is one block from International Drive so has good walking routes if you are wanting to go around that area. I have been planning to come back out on holiday in 2023 and would look at coming here, previously when coming out on holiday in 2006 & 2014 we have always stayed in self service condos/villas but would try this hotel. :)

Dev, you have no idea how much I appreciate you posting this video. I valued this information thoroughly when I took a vacation to Orlando at the beginning of the year (2023). I even saw you go into Spaceship Earth at EPCOT while I was there in late January. Your down to earth approach in your videos is valued extremely.
I stayed at Doubletree and it was fantastic for what I wanted on my trip. The walk to Universal was practically nothing and I rather enjoyed it as the anticipation was building. I would stay there again in a heartbeat thanks to your video! You made a difference on my trip! Would love to meet you next time I am there. I'll reach out to you directly before I make the trip again. THANK YOU MAN!!!!

Yes! Thank you! I appreciate how you are more honest and relatable rather than other bloggers, who you can tell, refuse to make negative comments about the parks cause they’re scared they’ll loose their meal ticket. I also appreciate how you give your children privacy and don’t try to make money off of sticking a camera in their face 24/7.

Our first visit to Florida in 1989 was 3 weeks staying at the Double Tree. It was known as the 'Twin Towers' then and Universal Studios was still under construction. We fell in love with Florida and stayed again at the same hotel for a pre-cruise stay in 2008, travelling on the Mariner of the Seas. We hope to return to Florida soon, but in the meantime keep up the great work with your videos. Sarah & Trevor from the UK

For the price I love staying here.

Several years ago I toured all of the Disney parks in one day. I stayed all day, all the way to closing. When I existed the EPCOT entrance to the parking area, it took me one and a half hours to find my rental car. I was completely lost. I left The Disney complex 2:00am in the morning. Everyone was gone including the staff. That was the most adventurous time at Disney World for me.

Even though I go down a couple times a year sometimes it gets overwhelming and confusing when you're trying to book your own hotel. So it's cool that you are out there on the street pointing stuff out so that way when we're Google searching or like oh it clicks together and it just makes the vacation planning a little bit more easier. Thank you so much and you should do a video on the trolley because I've never done the trolley and it might be an easier and fun way to get around that Uber and Lyft all the time

What made you start doing UA-cam? Which character were you, while working for Disney? How are you doing? How's Bianca doing? How did you meet? I'm not saying for you to do a video on your personal life but.. You do a lot for us but no one ever asks about you.. Look forward to answering any of these questions, maybe your fish too? Thank you for the info. I greatly appreciate all your helpful tips especially since I will going to Universal in the spring. I am planning on staying at Cabana Bay. I like how close it is to Volcano Bay.

Hey that tourist trap ticket center used to be called mystery fun house, and closed back in the late 90s- early 2000s. Just an old attraction with a fun house and mini golf. Old orlando relics like that and skull kingdom were so rad. Love the videos!

I love and appreciate this info (saved for future possible use!); I don't think I could ever "hate" - as you said - ANY of your videos! But I will say this: on my most recent Universal trip, Lowe's Royal Pacific Hotel was one of the nicest places I have ever stayed at all around. Total price gouge! But very, very nice. I would love to stay there again.

Thank you so much for this video. Extremely helpful. Your style of presentation makes me feel like I am there trying these out with you. Showing us all the details of how to navigate to and from hotels and parks helps reduce anxiety of the unknown. I am curious if you have a recommendation near universal and condo with multiple bedrooms for extended family trips. Thanks!

Dev, can you also show where someone would go at MCO airport to get the shuttles to their hotels, be that on or off-property?
I am aware there is no train service from the airport to Disney or Universal, but it would be handy for those of us who travel internationally to know exactly where to go when we arrive in the States.
    Great video :)

I would also love to see that we are coming from the UK in May and for the first time not hiring a car. Intend on using Uber or Lyft but no idea where you go or how long it takes. Will be staying at Royal Pacific, so anything along these lines would be awesome

Take a Uber or Lyft...The cost was less than renting a car...MCO has a designated ride sharing pickup area..

@@suziequinton8270 it about a 20 minute ride to get to royal Pacific from the airport...all of the parks and hotels will age an area for Uber or Lyft to park..if you are going during a very busy time just make your reservation ahead of time

The Sunshine Flyer that comes on February could be a nice alternate option cuz rumors said they could add on other destinations like off and on resorts to Universal after they launching on-site resorts to Disney World beginning in February and someday a Brightline Train would run til Disney Springs next Year or til 2025 perhaps but like PCDev said he works on a Video and certainly will keep us all informed on those things like others doing as well so it is sweet to have him and others that keeps us on the spots of important knowledges.

Great vlog Devin , they are all so close to universal! The only thing that annoys me are the parking fees and resort fees ! I can’t wait to get to Orlando going into hibernation to ensure We get a negative covid result for our test 24 hours before we come ! Stay safe ! I’d love you to do a trip on the ride bus!

Good luck Ilse and safe travels! Yes I absolutely hate the parking fees and resorts fees. It’s like just include all of those fees in the overall price when you check out.

Thanks for this demonstration Dev. My best friend and I planned our first trip to Universal for May 2024 and will be staying at the Doubletree simply because of the short walk to the parks. I did some exhaustive research on that particular neighborhood and found that some of the best hotels are the Doubletree, Holiday Inn Express & the Residence Inn. A lot of the other hotels in the area had some serious nightmare reviews with several disquieting pix to back it up. Quite a few detailed encounters with the "R" word crawling around. As soon as I see that, I shut that website down and move on because that is NOT an option. And I noticed that was a major complaint at ALL the "Extended Stay" properties in that area. The best perk for us about staying at the Doubletree besides the proximity to Universal is the Mears Shuttle to Busch Gardens Tampa stops at the hotel at 8:30AM for a day trip to that park which is extremely convenient. And it's free as long as you already have a Busch Gardens admission ticket. I am marathoning all your Universal videos to get familiar with the parks, have an idea of what to expect and learn how to avoid unneccesary snags and aggravation through your comprehensive common sense guidance. Your information is an absolute Godsend. Thank you very much for your kind efforts. 👍👍👍

As long as Universal continues to offer their AP hotel discounts, it's going to be hard to argue against the Endless Summer resorts in terms of price and perks.

The hotel rates in Orlando for the week I'm looking at in February are so insane right now that even with paying $15 a night for parking it's still cheaper to stay at the endless Summer resorts, and get free transportation back and forth to the parks, and City Walk.

    • @PCDev
      @PCDev  2 роки тому +8

Yeah I think it’s going to be extremely hard to beat the rates for Endless summer because you get all of those amazing universal perks.

Are universal resorts still worth it for those with premiere passes?.. i ask, cause they charge for parking every night.. where as a hotel off site does not and it seems like a easy walk from the offsite hotels

    • @Molbyone
      @Molbyone 2 роки тому

@@guillermoortiz1492 IMO it becomes about convenience. The water taxi back to the room after a long day is crucial, but with premier you could probably just half day the parks and then proximity doesn't matter as much - especially with the included prime parking.
Four Points has been a favorite of ours. Very close and not crazy expensive
