Apollo stands so quietly because he knows he is loved, he doesn't mind all the attention. His transformation is all down to your care and wellbeing. He must be feeling like a million dollars to when you first got him. He is such a beautiful boy🦄♥ 🦄
OMG! HIS EYES SMILE!! BEAUTIFUL. What a specimen-all your hard work, dedication, and awesome amount of love has paid off. You brought out the best in him! Best of all is his charming personality. No wonder you could NEVER sell him.
I'm so Happy. Thank you for your Love. And people who surrounds you in the equestrian 🐎 field. All simply Happy living and knowledgeable! Thank you Apollo and daddy
I'm so glad you're going with a Schleese saddle for him. They are so meticulous in measuring and making sure the fit is correct for the horse but comfortable for the rider. Now, all you need is a shorter girth for him. To get that buckle off his muscles and nerves that can affect movement to his front legs. That's why she suggested the shorter girth. Best Regards from a Retired Paramedic and Horse Trainer in Ontario, Canada, Jenn. 💖 🇨🇦
Apollo became a magnificent horse. Really impressive transformation. so impressed by your dedication and care. Apollo is a true Cinderella story. Obviously knows how beautiful he is as well... very very different creature. Doesn't like you leaving, either. Pretty forlorn look at end.
@@apollotheshire yes- he shows a lot of great performance skills in the ring. He knows he's being watched and enjoys the attention. Although he looked really broken and flea-bitten, you bought an amazing horse. You need to make more videos... sometimes, he thinks he's a Friesian.

Oh, I wish there were many more like Chris and Connie, too !!! And like you, Santiago, who realize their importance. Many thanks for this video, it’s rare… C & C need so many skills, combined. The Veterinary-like knowledge of equine anatomy, nerves and movement, some material science engineering and mathematics, definitely good mechanical skills , a big dash of horse-whisperer and the timing and patience to do a good job. I’d love to know if this couple teaches their career to others, perhaps at University level in Veterinary Colleges? Or maybe it needs the one-on-one direction of an apprenticeship. These are skills that need to endure! PS. Next time they come, could we please get a good look at the inside details and width of Apollo’s saddle? And maybe slow down a bit in video frames, lol? Thanks Santiago!
I’m so happy for you and Apollo. He is a proud horse now. And You are so Proud of him, And He feels your love. Great video. I’m a fan of You both. Keep going 😊
That saddle looks so tiny on him :). Apollo has certainly become as beautiful on the outside as he is in personality. These folks are obviously very familiar with the anatomy of horses and saddles. Thanks for sharing.
I always make sure that there are plenty of shots of Apollo looking,… well amazing. It’s not hard, he almost always looks amazing 😍, but he is the star of the show!!
This is so cool, saddle-tailoring for Apollo’s living, changing body! I loved how Connie detected some soreness in Apollo’s left shoulder and how deftly Chris responded to correct it’s cause. I had no idea a saddle’s skeleton could be adjusted manually. Is that available only on very fine saddles like this dressage? I guess I thought the leather would split! Chris and Connie reminded me of fine professionals, like surgeons. Yours is truly a lifetime saddle for Apollo, through their care. While watching this, I thought about how Apollo would feel after the corrections. It’s surprising how even tolerable regular or chronic pain can change your focus. I hope the relief of it brings joy and greater freedom for creativity to Apollo!
Horses are truly such magnificent looking animals. Apollo is exceptional! I love his calm demeanor. A gentle giant. My favorite clip is of Apollo running in your introduction. He appears so happy.

What a wonderful video… I could watch Apollo do almost anything, all day. We too have a wonderfully kind and calm saddle fitter who with her first touch of a horse sets any horse at ease…. It’s kind of like poetry to watch how she takes the time to assess each horse and how they move and react to touch even before she takes any measurements.
It’s fun to watch someone with a knack for animals. But I guess they have to be. Chris and Connie for example with with 1000’s of horses. If they didn’t know how to connect with them it could take twice as long for every fitting.
Wow! So fascinating! I have never seen a saddle fitting done like this. Apollo is beautiful, such a gentleman in the stable. I love his eyes, so deep, profound just beautiful ❤
Apollo is just so patient while they were fitting him for a new saddle. Really unbelievable to see just how calm he was through the process. What a super nice horse. And he's just soooo beautiful. I have fallen in love with Apollo ❤
It is fascinating to see how this process works. Thanks for sharing it with us. Apollo is getting so big and looks so healthy than he did at first. Good job!
I just got fitted and bought a schleese saddle. I do hunters and schleese has some hunter models too. I'm glad to know they can do this fitting even after a couple of years. It's like getting a whole new saddle again. Apollo moved really nice, wow, his muscles really got bigger.
I love watching Apollo It brings back great memories for me of the first time I ever saw a Shire horse. I was probably 8 or 9 years old and he looked like a giant to me and when I sat on him it was like doing the splits and it was a long ways to the ground and I hoped I never fell off of him. His feet were the size of dinner plates. He was beautiful horse and Apollos markings were similar to him, though his stockings were not the same as Apollo's., there two white stockings one one left front and the right back legs. It was one of the best day's meeting that Shire.
First time meeting one of these gentle giants is pretty special. For me it was a 19 .2 hands (195cm) Clydesdale. It was like meeting a prehistoric animal, I was never the same. 😍
I’ll never forget meeting my first Shires. They pulled milk wagons in the 1950’s to early 1970’s in my Grandparent’s cities in Canada. I was 4 yrs. old when I remember first meeting a pair of bay Shires, and the milkman taught me how to feed them carrots. I shivered with excitement standing close to them, and ran along side of them as they progressed and stopped at every house, till my parents would run out, pick me up and carry me home, crying to be separated from them. I remember getting up early mornings at Gram’s house, listening for the clip-clop of those enormous hooves coming down the street. I became a lifelong, insatiable horse lover from the first touch of that pair. When I was 10, my uncle Howard tossed me onto the bare back of a gigantic Shire being shown at a local fair. He was so wide my legs stuck out straight like a marionette, and looking down I could see my tall uncle was going bald on top! Oh, what a magnificent black horse, remembered clearly after 60 yrs. If I close my eyes I can still recall his horsey scent and feel his smooth-coarse mane looped tight around my hands. I knew he wasn’t going to toss me off, bless his gentle heart.
I’m Canadian and I’m nice by effort, unfortunately I didn’t get the ‘nice by birth’ gene (as many of my fellow Cdns did) but I’m determined to give it my all 😊
thanks for the video. I've been watching a lot of horse physio videos lately and the #1 cause of problems is always the saddle. it was really informative to see a professional at work here.
Ya, like I say in the video, watching a master at their craft is always very satisfying. Really entertaining to watch and experience. Thanks for watching 🙂
It's amazing what a well-fitting saddle will do for both the horse and rider. It's nice that you had a professional saddle fitter come out. It took me a very lonmg time to find the right saddles for my Belgian and my Percheron years ago. Now saddle fitting meets science and to both horse and rider it feels as though magic happens, especially when the horse can reach further and round up into your seat easier. It's just a wonderful feeling.
Interesting filming on issues that one generally does not see. Apollo is magnificent thanks to your impeccable care. A pleasure observing and following. 🥰
OMG Santiago........Apollo looks Fantistic and is so relaxed for the saddle fitting. That is a total credit to the time, care & love you have shown to this beautiful creature!! Once again, God bless you for rescuing him!!
Great to watch you with David coaching. Our dressage club had him as a clinician in the past, here in Cody, WY. I rode with him quite a bit then. My dressage instructor and I watched your video with great interest, since we have a new dressage student who is starting with a 3 1/2 year old Shire!! She has had no previous riding instruction, but she grew up on horses - always bareback, so she has a great seat and sense of balance! Her boy, is like a big Baby Huey, falling through his shoulders, not in front of the leg…etc., etc. Apollo’s nice performance in this video says “it can be done! “ Thanks for sharing.
I've enjoyed watching your videos many times and I have to say again I'm so glad you have Apollo he deserves to have you to love him and take care of him so much 💗. Too many great horses 🐎 end up in a bad way ❤ Bless you 😊

I loved watching today. I’m currently on my third Schleese saddle, most recent is an Infinity II for my ancient mare. She’s a short backed Paso with terrible sway but I can keep her comfortable with a limpet pad and half pad under. I love it that you care so much for this beautiful boy. These saddles and services don’t go cheap but it’s the least I can do for her💐🌈
What I noticed.... You opened the stall door and reached for the halter. Apollo took a step towards you, you held the halter out, and he just stuck his nose in. The two of you are not simply a horse and a human. You are a partnership... And each half's well-being is intrinsically bound up in the other. A blessing to see
Watching you & Apollo make me want to get a Shire. I adore huge horses. Apollo is beautiful! The side eye he gives the saddle fitter as soon as the fitter put the saddle on his back made me laugh.
Such a Beeeuuuutiful horse. When you were doing practice rides after the saddle fitting, watching him canter gave me goose bumps. Keep up the great work, you two.
Hi Santiago hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year too, Apollo is looking more beautiful and handsome, saddle fittings are certainly not a quick process, looking forward to seeing what you have planned for 2023 with Apollo, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧
That was so interesting to see that saddle being fitted and how it was made right for him. Those two are artist at the measurements and fitting , He is one big beautiful boy and guess he is not maybe done growing and he will be measured again. Enjoyed watching you ride him . One powerful horse.
Thanks Sharon! He is done growing as far as his height but he gets more muscular the longer I have him and the more in shape he is. Thanks for watching, please subscribe! 🙂
My daughter has a horse, buckaroo who stands 17.1 high and needs a tall trailer. He is a former racehorse she got for graduating from college in 2004. she breeds freisians in pennsylvania so I just absolutely love large horses and Apollo is fantastic, so calm, and I picked up on the cues of his training when he was being led out of the stall, stopped, once the lead was on and it was time to walk, 2 taps on him, and he knew to go...

Wonderful! Thanks for watching and commenting! 😊
I just love watching Apollo. Thank you for taking such good care of him! He probably likes the new saddle as much as you do!
thank you for sharing. know nothing about horses but so enjoy watching the care that is taken with this beauty.. your art is amazing.
Thank you very much!
So informative. Worth every penny imo. : )
Thank you, and yes, it’s a great saddle. I love it. Thanks for watching 🙂
Very interesting to watch. Beatiful horse! My favorite thing about Apollo is his one black leg and the rest are white. Super cute!❤❤❤
Excellent video!! Thank you!
Thanks and thanks for watching 🙂
What I noticed.... You opened the stall door and reached for the halter. Apollo took a step towards you, you held the halter out, and he just stuck his nose in.
The two of you are not simply a horse and a human.
You are a partnership... And each half's well-being is intrinsically bound up in the other.
A blessing to see
Awwwww, that’s really sweet. I love the big dumb guy, and I hope he likes me. Thanks for watching. 🙂
Watching you & Apollo make me want to get a Shire. I adore huge horses. Apollo is beautiful! The side eye he gives the saddle fitter as soon as the fitter put the saddle on his back made me laugh.
His side eye is hilarious! I love the breed and can’t say enough good things about them! Thanks for commenting, please subscribe! 🐴
Aww love him ❤
Me too! He’s so good and funny. Thanks for watching. Please subscribe, Apollo worked hard for it! 🖤

You summed up my experience of Canadians! Thanks for watching and commenting. 🐴
@@apollotheshire I am Canadian too and I can tell you they are above average. Great ambassadors for Canada and Schleese 🙂
Such a Beeeuuuutiful horse. When you were doing practice rides after the saddle fitting, watching him canter gave me goose bumps. Keep up the great work, you two.
Beautiful horse
Thank you!
Ooo another new saddle!
Ha, nope, same saddle, more adjustments. He muscle mass has changed considerably, so it didn’t fit him anymore. But it does now 😀😀
Thanks for watching
Very beautiful big horse. Seems very calm. Very nice saddle they made for you.
He is very sweet! Thanks for watching and commenting! 🙂
Thank you! You too!
🌻what a beauty!
I agree! 😍 Thanks for watching and commenting! 🙂
Thank you for your gracious compliment about Canadians.

He’s definitely more comfortable after the adjustment! Thanks for watching and commenting! 🙂
OMG! The saddle looks like doll's on Apollo
😂 he’s a big boy! I appreciate you watching, please subscribe!
Fascinating! What a beautiful animal!
The both of you look so good together,he is a fantastic looking horse who clearly loves you like you him ,great channel and it's so good to follow his progress best of luck xxxxxxxx 💓💕💖
Thank you so much! 🙂
