  • The last of 383 B-36 nuclear bombers was delivered to the U.S. Air Force on 14 August 1954 during this gala ceremony at the Fort Worth factory where it was built. Large crowd tours the XC-99 during the ceremony. Top Air Force and local civic leaders address the B-36 service history. Video editing by Don Pyeatt.     At 31:32 it is an XC- 99. The aircraft that launches at the end is the B-36. The XC-99 even in black and white does not look right. That was a really big aircraft.

    That's a C-99, not B-36.

      The C-99 was a static display. The B-36 is at the end of the video.

      Great film clip of the" big stick" ive been a fan of this aircraft since a was teenager back in the 70s
      ive have read Dons book and every book Dennis R Jenkins has done on this big monster ,
      its nice to hear what the men back then sound like , its shame "General Curtis LeMay " was not there
      it would have been nice to hear what he sounded like , great video guys of a great time many thanks
