- McLaren Artura Test Drive Review. Come along for this POV drive in the new 2024 McLaren Artura hybrid supercar. The McLaren Artura is powered by a twin turbo 120 degree V6 coupled with a hybrid electric assist motor for torque fill and vectoring between the rear wheels. Power is 671bhp and 531 ftlb coupled with RWD through an 8 speed Dual Clutch Gearbox. The car uses conventional suspension architecture with sway bars and adaptive dampeners, hydraulic razor sharp steering, CCB braking which is also hydraulic and a carbon fiber tub and sub-structures coupled with super formed aluminum panels and forged underpinnings. The car is super light at 3000 lbs, razor sharp and an athletic engaging hybrid supercar. Prices start around $230,000 and this cars athleticism blows away cars such as the Maserati MC20 and many cars from Ferrari and Porsche which not only cost more but lack some of the sharpness and feel. Go test drive one today you will be sold. Unlike some of the older cars McLaren has put out this car has an engaging feel that that does not feel synthesized with drivers aids to save your ass. It has a chassis that makes you want to push it harder and harder while the chassis will slip and bite back which adds to connection between the driver and machine. Truly a spectacular hybrid supercar experience that impressed me in every category of a performance car. All I can say is I now want one. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more content.

Just got one of these. Nothing short of amazing. That instant torque provided by the electronic engine is just genius.
Couldn't agree more! Congratulations this is one of the best driving sports cars you can buy it blew me away
I drove a 600LT at the autocross at Lime Rock via Cloud Nine exotics. Also drove a GT3 RS right after. GT3 RS is like on rails the handling is amazing but the McLaren is just a beast
What's this guys name, sounds so smart and i enjoyed his commentary. He knows his stuff.. I've always been a big fan of Mclaren becuase their cars are performance focused and most importantly LIGHT! , not grand tourers , no ipad screeens, just track weapons.
Was from Mclaren headquarters I really enjoyed the drive having someone this knowledgeable next to me as im a very technical type of person who appreciate details. The drive blew me away I plan to go drive one again very soon. Lightness truly is key to a great sports car
Great video!! I've driven the artura a while ago and have one on order. It's the best car I've ever driven and I had the exact same reactions as you did driving it. The steering, suspension tuning and chassis feel are absolutely perfect.
Couldn't agree more! The car is simply incredible to drive and i think the best and most fun McLaren yet. I really want one now!
I'm buying one of these! looks & sounds phenomenal love the technology McLaren used.
The car is incredible I want to order one myself
Such a great car man.
drives incredible
What a sweet ride. A very pretty color. Now all I need is an extra $230K for a Sunday driver. Thanks for sharing as this is about the only ride I will ever get in a car like this.
Love that color! The tech that McLaren had been using over the past few years is amazing!
Couldn't agree more! This car is so impressive on all aspects
Color called Tokyo Cyan
Tech is great. Parts quality abysmal. Watch Tavarish’s rebuild of his flooded
P1. Eye opening in terms of what they use
Hi, there, amazing video footage, I grew up in the Hudson Valley area, by any chance was it, filmed in that area!
Hi we drove and filmed in northern Westchester county that day
Thank you for your response, and keep making great content! Cheers!
McLaren makes the best Supercars, when it comes to driving dynamics.
What happens to the turbo bearings with all that cold/hot start-stopping…?
i heard temps in the engine bay exceed 900F so no idea these are cars you never own past factory warranty regardless
Dude, the salesman will say ANYTHING to sell you the car.
There’s a McLaren dealer here in Northern NJ/ Ramsy NJ, a Retired cop buddy of mine always wanted one, and since, nothing but Bullshit issues, Headaches and QC Gremlins.
Too much tech means just more shit to go wrong. 🤮
I know McLarens don't tend to hold their value as well as other supercars (I don't know if that's changed) but I always loved their dedication to making things lightweight!
almost every British car brand depreciate like rocks falling off buildings historically unless they are prized rare classics. I think these McLarens are best to buy preowned as most used ones will barely have any miles and you should get as better deal
What is this "preowned" nonsense? Forget that "woke" or PC garbage. You mean USED car. Right? Does a car magically change from USED to "preowned" depending on what the original MSRP was? Ridiculous. @@autofanaticcars
One missing thing: the Artura was left in "Track Mode" the entire time on the road. I wish you would have toggled other "drive modes" to show the full range of differences between the different drive modes.
I drove car for an hour and used all modes my gopro died only posted footage captured. This car is incredible in every aspect
He keeps saying the QC is due to media sensationalism and pre production cars but the forums and countless previous owners tell a different story. Mclaren QC is definitely an issue, but I hope they solve it because they make some incredible cars. I actually think the Giulia steering reminds me of the Mclaren, thinner wheel and incredible response from center, very fast steering rack. Obviously the Mclaren is on another level but the Giulia has incredible steering for the price point, much better than the artificially heavy BMW steering with ridicously thick steering wheels
I fell in love with the Artura it’s definitely one of the best sports cars I’ve ever driven and rivals many others out today in the market. I hope the new Mclaren CEO addresses the qc and customer support issues because i really want to buy one.
@@autofanaticcars Completely agree. I drove a 570S and I get the hype. Seems like the cars are a bit hit or miss but then again so is my Giulia
Ha ha yes same as any Italian car.
I only know one person to have picked one of these up and it was in the shop within a week.
Very typical these days with most brands unfortunately but biggest issues ive heard is how dealers handle the customer concerns and McLaren does have an arrogant track record. Regardless the McLaren Artura is absolutely brilliant. One of the best cars I’ve ever driven
@@autofanaticcars It is on my list of cars to drive this year. Hoping to narrow my choice down from the 488 spider, huracan perf, and gt3rs.
Thinking of swapping my old huracan for a 2023 artura but can’t decide 😢
the Artura is an incredible machine but after learning more about the EV and Hybrid stuff going into cars I can not see owning any Hybrid Supercar past 3 years for that fact. Maybe do a short term lease but EV themselves are tanking in value and this may trickle down to these Hybrid Supercars. This is what also has been on the fence of getting a Mclaren Artura. I learned from a friend that his friends Ferrari 296 which is a Hybid has a failed electric motor and the labor to fix is over 200 hours to tear the entire drivetrain out of the car supposedly, can you imagine if you had to pay for that repair bill outside of warranty you would end up scraping the car.
Keep the Lambo. Now that the Huracan successor will be V8 Biturbo the V10 will probably even appreciate a bit.
I guess that green GTR was yours. I parked my mc20 next to it yesterday lol
Yep how do you like the MC20 so far and did you drive the Artura yesterday?
@@autofanaticcarsI’ve only have for 1 month, didn’t got chance to track it or drive hard as it’s not broken in, but impression is basically a mid engined qv that drives better on every respect. The artura gives me Porsche GT3 vibe, does everything right, drives very well, but somehow lacked a bit that Italian drama
nice enjoy it i hope to get a chance to drive one of those soon. I have my eye on them for a while now that prices are dropping and would not mind daily driving one if those.
@@autofanaticcarsArtura would be a better daily driver, MC20 on the other hand, still has that supercar rawness if you needed it
With ur experience if u could pick one in the same segment and about the same cost which one would u pick:
A-Ferrari
B-Lamborghini
C-Maclaren
D-Porsche
Ferrari will always be my #1 choice based on heritage, design etc however I am not a huge fan of most modern Ferrari models and still prefer the older classics
I heard McLaren's are unreliable and their up there with Lambos.
I heard the same but i know many owners who have zero issues. Might be isolated issues with QC kinda like all headaches ive had owning so many Italian and German cars
I do love the innovation and what they're doing with the hybrid motors. @@autofanaticcars
i am so resistant to anything hybrid and EV call me old school but after experiencing how this new hybrid tech works i would love to own one now, lets say your running low on fuel on your favorite backroads and the fuel station is far away, click to electric mode and cruise to get fuel to me that is such a cool feature to have in a car today.
It was the old “oil leak” that they got a bad wrap for. I also know a few owners have never had any issues
That guy is knowledgeable but he was quite a distraction and ruined the test drive a little . It would have been better if he let you take it out alone in my opinion.
I actually enjoyed having someone with that much technical knowledge next to me answering so much about the car i didn’t know. A typical clueless salesman annoys me most buying any car
Your point is well taken. Thanks for the reply
Jesus that salesman is insufferable!
Not a sales person but it was great to have someone with knowledge next to me unlike a clueless salesman
How do you shut off that sales guy! Lol
Not a sales person but it was great to have someone with knowledge next to me unlike a clueless salesman
@@autofanaticcars Should get a 70 buick gsx instead.
ha ha ha I had owned a 1970 Buick GS Stage 1 drop top when I was 18, I loved that car. I have owned and restored so many awesome American Muscle cars.
gg
That huge speaker grill on the door was out of style 2 decades ago.
Absolutely no way to conceal a kick ass high end audio system in a car most exotic cars have garbage hifi not the Artura
Use your head, these things are Money Pits💰💵💰💵💰💵, a never ending hole of Misery 👎
the Mclaren guy does all the talking and fails on any level to say anything negative about the car...lame video.
