Nissan is producing a 2025 GTR, T-spec and Nismo. They state the 25 T-spec and Nismo will have a more snappy engine. Not sure what improvements will be with the internals. I was planning to get a 24 T-spec till Nissan did the press release for a 25. I have sat in the T-spec and love the green interior. Thanks for your insightful review as always.
@@autofanaticcars I agree the Nismo is wild yet I like you feel the T-spec is the best choice. The GTR weak spot is brakes and the T-spec solves that. I also love the T-spec is a below radar GTR in that if you know you know. Just like the Mercedes GT-R. Which I am keeping any eye out for a convertible one in the colors I prefer.
Absolutely nailed every appealing factor! Analog, Japanese, Automatic transmission necessary (even though I’ve been thinking about a manual car), and more. Great works, thanks!
2020 Premium owner here, your review is spot on. I have put some money into mine mainly on performance mods, and it’s a monster. You won’t be disappointed if him buy one. I got lucky and got mine for 5k under sticker right off the showroom floor when everyone was hiding in their houses with diapers on their faces, other wise i probably couldn’t have afforded one!
One of the best reviews of a GT-R ever ...somehow I want this car with that spec 😎 Interesting is when car was unveiled it was one of the heaviest, now 15years later it is lighter than 911 or M4, it is not complicated anymore it became analogue and mechanical 😎
I know exactly the feeling your described, I was given a ride in one. Soon as he floored it, I felt my stomach and internal organs get pushed back into the seat, "is this what fighter pilots feel, when they take off in jets?" was my next thought...........
Autofanatic, I love you videos, thank you for all the content, especially your green AMG GTR, and this review. I let go of a CT5V Blackwing back in November. Time for a new fun car. Between the Mercedes GTR, and Nissan GT-R. I haven’t driven either one yet. Which one would you go with? Thank you!
Thanks both GTR are incredible machines and so different it depends what your looking for the Nissan is king in straight line speed but AMG is incredible in corners and feels more like a true track car. What didnt you like on the Blackwing was it just the sheer size? The M5 Cs is incredible but the carbon seats are very uncomfortable to live with. The AMG has higher quality interior all around and a very unique engineering platform of exotic materials. The AMG is also several hundred pounds lighter
Thanks for the reply! I bought a new to me 2022 ct5V Blackwing with 9K miles as a fun commute car. But I did it in late October. I am a fisherman and have to drive almost 3 hours from Maine to New Hampshire. So when it started to snow, I realized how bad of an option Blackwing was with 668 hp and rear wheel drive although Michelin Pilot sport 4s did impress me in a couple of sleet days. I had a ram TRX as a family car which I left for my wife to drive. So after Blackwing gave me an uneasy feeling spinning out on crappy Maine roads, I went out and traded it for another TRX. A couple months ago I traded my first one the one that wife was driving for a GLE 63 S -> a much better family car. So now I am still driving my Sandblast TRX and Mercedes when I am home from a fishing trip, but for summer/fall I want something fun again. Gt-r is appealing because of the all wheel drive and tuning potential and Mercedes because it is refined and classy and I love the pops and bangs. Blackwing felt like a small car and had an awful grip despite great tires. I’m not sold on gt-r’s outdated tech. Having owned GLE 63s, I’m in love with all the premium features. And that’s where I’m leaning more towards the Mercedes. But Nissan is so fast and in case I’m caught in bad weather, it will still get me places. Oh man, what a tough choice!
Formerly lived in Jersey. Assume that the tinted window regulations are similar to NY. Was recently back in Jersey. I now live in Texas. Very common when buying a new car here in Texas for the dealer to deliver the car with seriously tinted windows. I asked a Jersey State Trooper if I were to drive my Texas registered car with “Texas Window Tint” back to Jersey, would the “Texas Window Tint” be a legal issue in Jersey. The Trooper told me that if the car was legal in Texas, it would be legal in Jersey with the tinted windows. I’m not a layer, but taking a guess that the various states would or should respect the regulations of the other states - otherwise we would have “interstate chaos”. Happy motoring 🇺🇸🤠
Maybe because I got used to driving my Tesla but that acceleration wasn't very impressive. I have a 2024 Midnight Purple on order, but the engine bay looks very stock with OEM airbox charge pipes. Are you sure this car has 800 hp? Also on the resell value, there is no way a 2009 could go above 75k unless it's fully built to 1000 hp or more.
Now that alot of other sports cars are going the all wheel drive route the GTR doesn't have the advantage it once did. With that said its still one of the best cars u can tune out there.
Phil, do you find with these AMG, Nissan GTR’s, M5CS, GT4RS of the world that having a sports car with a manual doesn’t need to be a high priority as it used to be?
Manual is best suited for a great NA motor GT3, GT4 Shelby GT350R etc because these turbo and supercharger engines are so damn fast youll never be able to shift quick enough. I would never want my AMG GTR jn a manual or the Nissan GTR no way
Love this car but you just couldn't enjoy it on England's roads where I live. I think it does get to a point where a car is just too much for normal roads and becomes a bit redundant. Great car and vid, well done 👍
I completely agree most supercars etc are so fast you can’t legally enjoy them on the street which is why i feel anything above 500hp is really hard to enjoy
Ive always wanted to drive one of these.... The problem with cars this fast is exactly that though.. they're just so fast that by the time you put your foot down, you have to already take your foot off. Im caught between the notion whether that's more fun, or a Mazda Miata and being able to RING the engine out.
I really want to drive the new Z but there isn’t one in my area i still never even saw one in person in NY but if someone reaches out who has one il be doing videos on it
I was seriously considering an R8 Performance its a great car but ultra refined which wasn’t what i was after. Thats why i bought the AMG GTR instead. The Nissan GTR is in the same loud raw category i feel both are exceptional cars with their own personality
They actually built a decent amount of R35s over a 15yr span... so there is a good amount of them. You can easily find used examples for $60-70k..which is still not bad considering what they sold for, but not 100k
Me personally would not buy any performance type car used with high mileage most in 60-70 range fall into that category. These newer models are much more refined than the earlier ones
The Dunlops on the car stick but tramline badly plus their run flats. The car rides so good that if you switch to a non run flat it might ride like a Caddie
I thought it is made for inexperienced drivers. Nissan pioneered that and everyone else made their fast care safer. At least in regard to putting the power down in a straight line
Stock intake boxes and I doubt downpipes with this setup. However the sound suggests catless midpipe. Keep in mind a full bolt on GTR on e85 may be a little north of 600 wheel horsepower.
I find the GTR to be both underrated & overrated at the same time. Stock, or close it the car is great. Ton of power, ton of feel, feels very analogue. The tuning potential is massively overrated though. All GTRs putting down real numbers are built, the rods are notorious for going not much above stock torque levels & the DCT is well documented for being problematic at big boy power. This car has about the same potential as a new M3 for a lot more money.
Lol....the gtr isnt bullet proof. It has improved. It was my fav until the r35 and transmission issues, launch control, differential issues, transfer case issues, all before 100k with abusive owners...sigh
Someone who genuinly talked on gtr in the world of bmw and porsche. Thanks for a very good content.
Thanks for watching 👍

@@MrT_RainMan The best below radar is perhaps the 2020 NISMO Track Edition. It´s. NISMO without the spoiler basically.
Isn’t the 2024 the final model, per Nissan USA?
I love the way the Nissan Gtr hugs the road. I own a 2012 Nissan Gtr and it feels like a jaguar with claws!
That thing is a beast and a great ride video and a ICE car that is a classic and makes you feel alive . Buy it Phil.

absolutely killer review, well done
Great great review! I have the 2024 Nissan gtr t spec in midnight purple and I love it 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I love this T-spec as well..........the wheels, the exterior and interior colors...
that trumpet noise reminds me of my 370z nismo, I love it
Way louder in person its a visceral machine
Having dabbled in the $150k plus car club. I forget about the GTR. I am glad to see you drive and review one. I will look at them next time.
former GT-R owner great review! its more analog now then it was initiially released back in 09 compared to current offerings.
dude these things are so damn exhilarating, the only cars I drove that I thought are crazier were the SVJ and 765lt.
I love these Cars now
As always, a very interesting and educative video
Glad you enjoyed it
Hoping to buy one this year, not only because it has such an insane 0-60, but because GTRs hold their value INSANELY well.
T-spec is the one to get. a masterpiece
dude awsome and real review ..thank you
Thanks for watching this car is amazing im still enjoying it

Nice do you know if the Premium has the exact suspension as the T Spec version not much info I could find
This thing does sound good when you get on it !
It screams like a race car my mic was attenuated 20% because it kept popping audio back

How much is this exact model as it shown in the video to buy ??? Used ofc

Yeah, keep the GT350
I would’ve assumed it’s a pure black metallic car not until you told us Phill, And until you got closer and some more light sunlight on the color
this color is wild and extremely difficult to color match repair. I would be happy with just BLACK to make life easier
does anyone know if the breaks are supposed to squick and if the start up makes a weird rattle sound.
I’m kind of considering an M5CS too, but I am not sure of the BMW reliability.

sounds and spools like a b58

killing this would be the downfall of Nissan... R35 is not a car, its like Godfather of Nissan
