This is what I love so much about theater stars. They can actually SING. Nowadays you don't actually have to be able to sing to get famous, but if you go into musical theater then there isn't an option of autotune. These guys are just some of the best, and Tracie and Rosario fit wonderfully into this cast :) I only wish I was old enough to have discovered this masterpiece sooner!

They are not all JUST actors, most have been on Broadway or done something singing related. They all have amazing, natural voices, and would not need to lip-sync anything! Do your research before you make accusations like that!

In the Rent movie, I loved Jesse as Tom Collins and he sang his heart out at Angel's funeral; Idina and Tracie singing Take Me or Leave Me was so good until you really questioned their sexuality. I watch the movie over and over and over just for the singing.
Just out of curiosity, what do you mean by "when you really question their sexuality" when talking about Maureen and JoAnn? It's quite clear that they are lesbians. Maureen is just a flirt who I think wants to settle down with someone, but she really enjoys being who she is, and she wants that person to accept her for who she is, and not try and change her just cuz they don't like what she does for a living.
Does anyone know why Jesse wore the dark beanie in the movie? He was wearing the same one in The Flash and on Law and Order. Was something wrong with his noggin?

I know Daphne couldn't do it because she was pregnant, but to me her voice is more Mimi if that makes sense. On top of that, Rosario seems a little stuck up. She has an awful big mouth for not even being part of the original cast! She just cut off Anthony as he started to talk! Grrrr!
