Great video! Could you do your next one with the Say No to This climax, from Hamilton, or the Reaise your voice climax from Sister Act? That"d be great
Pride Panda I’m being publicly attacked on the worst night of this show when my voice was giving out. None of these people will hear how I sound when I sing normally. You don’t know how that feels and you probably never will. I’ve accepted it now, but for about 6 months, just thinking about this video would ruin my whole day. You don’t have to have sympathy for me, but maybe understand that people deal with these things how they have to to keep themselves sane.
Pride Panda I’ve had some time to think about this and while I agree this response was immature, I still think it’s funny. My intent here more sass than hate. As for anger, I was upset for a while but I’ve realized if I should have any animosity, it should be toward the people at my school. They claimed have had my best interest at heart, but never should have posted it in the first place.
The thing I noticed that gave some singers a lower score (in my non existent score book lmao) is that they sang in head voice and then falsetto. The thing about the riff though is that its a direct transition from chest voice to falsetto, and that is what makes it all the more impressive, so from head voice to falsetto it feels like there wasnt as much struggle (?) to reach the note
Find someone who looks at you the way that singer looks at Jenny at 2:01. And the Glee one! I still can't bring myself to watch that whole episode. Just the clips on here make me cry.
Tracie’s was actually the first ever C6 I’ve ever heard, so it’s Tracie’s, Gwen’s, Ariana’s, Amber’s, And Keala’s. PS I love Idina as much as the next person, and she has an INCREDIBLE voice, but she really had to scream the note?
I just love I watched this when the video was uploaded and the next day, me and someone else get picked to do the riff for a special performance for my teacher. Makes me feel good. :3
I absolutely love Brittany’s version the best (Thomas Sanders Seasons of Love cover), Amber Riley’s version, & Tracie Thoms’ version...breathtaking & tear-jerking
This is such a hard part to sing for. I have had vocal training and know I could not hit the note without sounding off. I have to say Tracie does my favorite version, she makes it all sound so effortless!

I expected ultimate slayage from this video but damn some of these people just like to overdo it too much. No need to oversing and then delay the note because you want to add so many runs that you can't keep the melody🙄 Besides that, my fave would have to be Amber Riley💗
It's funny how Idina was looking and surprised during Tamika's high note at 4:40 without her knowing she'll also do it on her future concerts like 5:36
What a queen...
Yeah, but she didn't do it well.
@@antheiheiant interesting, i disagree, anyone who can mix that high is automatically an amazing vocalist (she’s honestly my favorite). her chest voice was the part that has struggled in recent years, where mixing is much easier to keep, and harder to strain because you can naturally go higher while mixing
Jo Hogan...you ARE the weakest link💀
lololololol
I was looking for this comment. 💀
@@danielquiroga9133 same!!!😂💀
Jalen Rudolph 😂😂😂😂
I was like what in thee hell was that
We sang this song in a choir performance, and my friend had the honors of hitting this note. (Quite beautifully I might add)
me: *expecting sam tsui to sing a lower key*
Sam: sings the exact fxcking note
Me: *dead*
Zoren John Velasquez he’s so grossly autotuned...
Casey Greyson and can’t mime for shit 😂
Casey Greyson have you heard him live?
He was really impressive
i get really annoyed at sam because his voice sounds autotuned but live is exactly the same
like his voice sounds naturally autotuned lol
I SAY.... Divine Brown!!! 💯💯💯
If you have the divine brown's
season of love,please give me!!
@@joaovitorcalheiro3700 i can't find it:(
Agree!
@@joaovitorcalheiro3700 me too I couldn’t find it anywhere. She used to be in this video but i think they trimmed it. 🥺
I like pretending I can hit that note
Top!!
Gwen Stewart - she sustained the hell out of that note!
Tamika Lawrence - that sounded like a belt and not head voice haha
Keala Settle - dang that was beautiful!
Amber Riley - she is just an amazing singer
Tracie Thoms - the transition into head voice is so smooth!
So many great singers on this video!! I wish I had half their voices!
Great video! Could you do your next one with the Say No to This climax, from Hamilton, or the Reaise your voice climax from Sister Act? That"d be great
I wish they could do that, but think of all the Ham bootlegs that have been taken down. Lin doesnt do bootlegs
They have stated that they won’t be doing a “Say No To This” climax because Lin hates bootlegs and don’t want to be a dick
oh PLEASE a raise your voice video would be amazing
i direct you to this video ua-cam.com/video/LqKnAnhUzOo/v-deo.html
Some one who loves both Hamilton and Sister Act.
4:40 Idina Menzel looks like such a proud mom I love it.
5:43 till end is the best part of this video
Also, didn't know Idina could sing that high still. Good for her.
Madame Corgi she can’t anymore
@@TheIndigoSystem yea she can
No one can give someone chills with that note like Tracie Thoms can 🫡

I’m still waiting on y’all to get cast...
Shaleah actually mixed the c6 then transitioned to head. That was amazing
I’ve been waiting for this moment
Also Jo sounds like me when I’m trying to sing when I’m sick
ALSO ALSO: I cried watching this again for Amber’s part. 💔
Omg Britney was included🤣😍!!!!!!
Also, who else cried when Amber Riley came up singing for Cory?!!!!
DID I HEAR BRITTNEY AND THOMAS IN THE SAME SENTENCE?
VicaCameOut ThePantry YES YOU DID
OHOHOHO

Gwen Stewart is an artist and a legend. Gives me chills every time.
Tracie will always be my favorite, but the woman who did it in the 2008 version(you included her but I forgot her name lol) is a second🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
I feel all the emotion when Tracie sings. She sings effortlessly! Tracie hands down.
This is such a hard part to sing for. I have had vocal training and know I could not hit the note without sounding off. I have to say Tracie does my favorite version, she makes it all sound so effortless!
I really don’t like Sam Tsui’s high note because it sound SOOOO autotuned.
Perfect timing! In a few days I have to sing this solo (and i can’t) so now I get to compare myself with all these people! Thanks!
Girl Tamika had me by the first listen!! I had to replay it automatically 3 times! ❤️😍💕
I was lucky enough to see Gwen perform this live once (I've seen Rent 30+ times) and no one else could even come close. Gwen is the queen!
So many of them did amazingly, but Gwen Stewart and Tamika Lawrence were my favourites, they absoutely killed it. I also really love Shaleah Adkinsson's diminuendo, it gives me goosebmps every time
I love EVERYONE in this video so much! But Britney from the Thomas Sanders & Friends cover was SOOO AMAZING! & she deserves so much more credit! But I love everyone in this video, specifically Tracie, Gwen, & Keala! 🎭🙌🏻👑😊
Shaleah adkisson transition was so smooth. From mix to head. So good. And also salute to those who did mix voice into it. Y’all are insanee.
oof some of these? not great to listen to.
Right?! You can improvise and play with it a little up to a point, but "measure your life in la-oooooo..." is in the score and should be sung correctly.
@@stormbob and in quite a few of these they're below pitch and have weird tone -- which like, it's a hard song and i don't think they're untalented, just not right for the role.
Jo Hogan 😬
@@stormbob it's actually not! Gwen's improvising just became iconic
Idina Menzel, Tracie Thoms, Amber Riley, Ariana Grande, and Tamika Lawrence did it good bro! ❤
Are we serriously not going to talk about Thomas Sanders, Joan and Valerie being in this video?
(Brittney Kelly part)

@-parkthatbyun- Ikr but that wasn't Joan it was Foti (I got tripped up the 1st time too, cos of the beanie)
@Its Full Of Nargles Thanks for the correction. 😊😊

My school did a production of Rent and my friend Cami hit those notes so perfectly I cried ❤️
Hey, the woman you have as Shaleah Adkinsson is actually Tamika Lawrence (3:55).
I cant find the original video anywhere 😭
Omg thank you. I was hoping someone else thought the same thing I was thinking.
Tracie Thomas just has always blown me away. I remember seeing this in the theatre and being stunned.
