The one bundle I got in my life was a base Xbox one with three (it gets worse) games. The games were Ori and the blind forest, gears of war ultimate edition, and... Rare replay. For those who don't know, rare replay is a collection of most of rare's games. So you're not just getting 3 games, it's 32 games! Talk about an insane bundle, I'm surprised Scott didn't mention it.
Mine came with halo 5 and halo wars 1 and 2 it's a good bundle but i'm a game pass user so basically it's kinda useless to me because halo is not going anywhere
I remember when my friends got an Xbox, we would pop in Rare Replay and try to beat Banjo Kazooie, Conker's Bad Fur Day, and that one ghost game. I also remember we wanted to play Banjo Tooie, but we couldn't figure out how to download it.
I actually did get the Xbox 360 bundled with Forza 4 and Skyrim! It was awesome since my parents were strict with video games. This way I didn't have to go buy Skyrim and then write a college final essay to convince them it wasn't remotely an adult game besides the blood. They just saw me play it and were like "That's a neat game," and then we all moved on with our lives. It was really nice. I might not have played it until way later had it not been for that bundle.
It felt like in the early days of consoles, Console Bundles drove a lot of sales for systems, particularly because of the smart choices the makers made for which games to bundle, particularly the pack-in titles. One of the big reasons for the NES's success was it being bundled with Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros. + Duck Hunt, and Super Mario Bros. 3 at various points during its run. Then SEGA came along with Sonic the Hedgehog and ran away (pun intended) for a while with a massive success, Altered Beast, Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Streets of Rage 2, The Lion King, Vectorman, and other high-quality popular titles on the system. Nintendo hit back hard with Super Mario World, Super Mario All-Stars, Super Mario All-Stars+Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario Kart, Killer Instinct, and Street Fighter II (in the UK). And then there was the perfect marriage: Game Boy and Tetris Bundle. No other game system in human history achieved success to the degree the Game Boy did with the ability to play one of the most universally popular and addictive games on the go. The handheld wars of the 90s were pretty much determined right there and then. Ain't no way the Game Gear, Atari Lynx, and the Turbo-Graphics Express were going to be able to compete with that.
Scott, I gotta be honest dude, I don't think I can watch your videos anymore. Not because they're bad, they're very entertaining/informative, but now that I work at gamestop your videos just stress me out because it reminds me that I have to be somewhere somewhat stressful early in the morning 😂
I have really fond memories of the blue DS that included Mario 64 DS with it. It was the first system I ever saved up for. That $150 over an entire summer was worth it!
Console bundles were the reason my parents were ever interested in buying systems for me, oh the Wii comes with Wii Sports now we’re talking. They also made for a fun afternoon until I got bored and wanted more.
I consider myself to be something of a Peggle expert. It’s my favorite game. I find Peggle 2 to be a stain on the good name and brand of Peggle. It’s recent representation in now three (3) Scott the Woz videos is truly sickening.
I agree. The mobile game is also an abomination. Honestly just make a new peggle that does the same thing as the first game but with new levels and I'll be happy. No need to change the artstyle or music drastically, just imitate the first game.
The only console bundle I've ever gotten was when my parents got our family a wii u with splatoon and smash bros pre-downloaded. This was also my first video game console ever, so I had no idea how to play either game.
The Gran turismo PS2/3 bundles honestly felt like Sony was just handing a PlayStation on a silver platter to you; they’re pricey now but they came with so much stuff
No matter how “convenient” online game purchasing and downloading gets, nothing will ever replace the satisfaction of taking a physical cartridge/disc and putting it into the system
Fun fact on 10:28 from someone who's currently working at a GameStop, those GameStop "unofficial" bundles are actually just as official, the things that get bundled with them are chosen by Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo, not just GameStop. The Series X bundle for thanksgiving came with downloads for BF2042 and NBA2K22, a Razer headset for some fuckin reason, and a $100 GameStop gift card, and to my knowledge the only thing that wasn't manufacturer-chosen was the gift card
@@TheOminousBlade oh i have no god damn clue, i got the job super recently so i don't know much other than what coworkers and managers have told me, delivery isn't something i'm super well versed in yet. i've helped package a few games and the like for shipping, instore pickup, and for some ungodly reason DoorDash i think? but in terms of the actual delivery and shipping process, i've got nothing
I still have my very 1st home console, an SNES I bought at KB Toys with money I saved from my 1st full-time job. It came with 2 controllers, Super Mario World, Mario Paint, an SNES Mouse, and Mousepad. It was quite a while before I bought more games because I had plenty to keep me entertained with those 2 games alone. Good times.
Personally I feel like the coolest pack in games are the ones that are pre installed on your system. I still remember unwrapping my 2ds on my birthday turning it on and seeing yoshi’s new island was already on the system.
yes!!!! my first 3DS (I say first because I had to buy a new one a few years ago bc my original one exploded :(() was in a bundle with Nintendogs+cats!!!! absolutely a great bundle and even had the physical game, I think it was months until I asked for a second game haha
I bought the Diamond & Pearl Special Edition DS Lite as a kid without realizing it didn't come with the game. It did come with a short animation on a DVD though! To tie in with Pokemon Mystery Dungeon of course.
I had the same issue with the Pokémon X/Y 3DS, and this was at a time when bundles were cheap and plentiful. At least you could get Super Mario 3D Land as a free download with it.
I've just discovered this Channel today and I've seen at least 10 videos since then! Keep up the good work (easily the funniest youtuber I've seen on ages)
That Mario Kart DS bundle was my first ever console! My parents got it for me one Christmas and I remember really loving it. They got me Nintendogs along with it and I think I pretty much never played Mario Kart, but it came with a few themed stickers and a wrist strap. I think it came with a case too, but I’m not sure.
I remember my first DS. It was a blue DSi XL that came with a physical copy of Mario vs Donkey Kong Miniland Mayhem and preinstalled Brain Age Math and Brain Age Writing, each separating the Brain Age games out by their subject. It was definitely cool, and as someone who had never played Brain Age before, it was cool to have those
8:18 There it is my first game console... Waking up to that on Christsmas (2011) was probably the best thing 10 year old me could have ever dreamed of. Brings back so many good memories.
For me it was the front of the StarCraft jewel case with the red glowing eyes. my mother literally watched me and dad play that for hours and hours with no issue at all. Found the case in my room one day and crushed that demon to pieces.
The one bundle or special addition I wanted was sadly only in Japan. It was a metal slime themed 2 DS XL. It looks cool. It was a black DS, but on the left side a metal (bubble) slime was splayed out colored silver. It was also textured! As in the slimes face/head part was raised up from the actual DS, and it came with the latest dragon quest game. It always looked so cool to me.
@@alchemistghost8329 it's on my to get list one day. It's such a nice design, I love when they do they to the DS. Give it a raised design. It adds a special flair to it.
9:32 I'm not an amiibo collector but I will openly say that I got that Wii U SMM1 bundle to get both the Wii U and SMM for Christmas years ago. One of the best decisions I ever made since I, in fact, like the Wii U.
13:01 - funnily enough, all European versions of the Animal Crossing Switch are bundled with a copy of the game. Granted, it's a digital copy, but EU and UK got the better deal compared to the US.

I got a NES 2.0 with Castlevania bundled in in 1996 from my local Sears.... It was so cool to go back n revisit the NES games i could still find at local video stores....
my parents bought me the 'kung fu panda/ lego indiana jones xbox 360 bundle' for christmas after my first console red ring'd. As a hardcore gamer at the time who would never have bought these games any other way, I was suprised with how much fun they were.
i remember being confused as to where the games were until we went to best buy and they explained how digital bundles work, possibly the best hour of my life.
As far as consols I've actually BOUGHT as opposed to getting as a gift, both were bundles, but were within reason. First was in 2015 when I bought my WiiU which came with a pre-installed copy of Super Mario 3D World. As for why I waited until 2015 to get a WiiU, a few reasons: 1. I was only 19 at the time, and had only been at my then current (also first) job for only a year. 2. My main motivation for getting it was so that I would be able to play LEGO Dimensions (Yes, I spent a ton of many on the various expansion packs. No, I don't regret it.) The second was last year when I bought my Switch which came with a copy of Mario Kart 8 (as mentioned in the video). As for why I waited until 2020 to get a Switch, a few reasons: 1. The few games I did have I was just playing on my brother's Switch (he didn't really have a problem with it) 2. Months before I got mine, LEGO Star Wars: the Skywalker Saga had been announced (if you couldn't tell by now, I'm a fan of LEGO games (still remember playing the first LEGO Star Wars on Gamecube)), so it would probably help being able to play that for hours without having to constantly borrow my brother's (now if only it hadn't been delayed for nearly 2 years) Also, turns out I got mine just in time because a few months later, I tested positive for COVID-19, and was stuck in my room for 10 days. So at least I wasn't bored to death. Also, I had been able to get games I was already planning on getting for the Switch Anyway (SSBU, Ghostbusters Remastered, and got a pro controller with a downloadable copy of Super Mario Odyssey)
I can really relate to the first part of the comment :D But my motivation was lego city undercover. I got lego dimensions later (but the wii u version is kind of meh)

That's how I got mine too 😂
That's a great bundle!
I love how scotts video qualities are consistent and funny even when his channel is growing at a rapid pace.
I never noticed how rich Scott and his parents were to be able to buy all these bundles.
He makes videos on youtube for a living. Only way to be successful at that is if you have a good support system, aka rich parents lol
@@helloismabye lol that’s actually pretty true for every youtuber i can think of off the top of my head

I have really fond memories of the blue DS that included Mario 64 DS with it. It was the first system I ever saved up for. That $150 over an entire summer was worth it!
Ds was the best
I wish you had talked about when Sega bundled the original Sonic and how that ate from Nintendo's profits at the time.
@@iii7766 made me laugh, thank you.
Console bundles were the reason my parents were ever interested in buying systems for me, oh the Wii comes with Wii Sports now we’re talking. They also made for a fun afternoon until I got bored and wanted more.
On your way toward 2 million subs! It’s been a second since I’ve tuned in but your sense of humor and passion hasn’t staggered yet at all!
I consider myself to be something of a Peggle expert. It’s my favorite game. I find Peggle 2 to be a stain on the good name and brand of Peggle. It’s recent representation in now three (3) Scott the Woz videos is truly sickening.
Does the P in Vladdy P stand for Peggle?
@@BeesechurgerProductions yes

I agree. The mobile game is also an abomination. Honestly just make a new peggle that does the same thing as the first game but with new levels and I'll be happy. No need to change the artstyle or music drastically, just imitate the first game.

I need a woz bundled with my consoles honestly.
same scott the woz should choose all bundles.
It would either be a full sized statue of Scott or just a printed out picture of him but they didn’t even bother to cut the picture out

The only console bundle I've ever gotten was when my parents got our family a wii u with splatoon and smash bros pre-downloaded. This was also my first video game console ever, so I had no idea how to play either game.
Swapping out the amibos was next level.

I have a question, what is your delivery service because I ordered 2042 and I got it a day late which is pretty lucky

I got my DS Lite bundled with an exclusive version of Nintendogs. I loved that game to death. Probably the best DS bundle after Mario Kart.
yes!!!! my first 3DS (I say first because I had to buy a new one a few years ago bc my original one exploded :(() was in a bundle with Nintendogs+cats!!!! absolutely a great bundle and even had the physical game, I think it was months until I asked for a second game haha
I had the same edition of DS Lite as a kid!
Ironically, I never played Diamond, Pearl, or the Mystery Dungeon DS game on the DS Lite
scott's videos to this day never get old like looking at his old videos it still holds up only few youtubers can do that!

The one bundle or special addition I wanted was sadly only in Japan. It was a metal slime themed 2 DS XL. It looks cool. It was a black DS, but on the left side a metal (bubble) slime was splayed out colored silver. It was also textured! 0:38 I just want us all to acknowledge Scott bought a hard copy of Pokémon: Shining pearl
AND PLAYED IT
As far as consols I've actually BOUGHT as opposed to getting as a gift, both were bundles, but were within reason.
First was in 2015 when I bought my WiiU which came with a pre-installed copy of Super Mario 3D World. As for why I waited until 2015 to get a WiiU, a few reasons:
1. I was only 19 at the time, and had only been at my then current (also first) job for only a year.
2. My main motivation for getting it was so that I would be able to play LEGO Dimensions (Yes, I spent a ton of many on the various expansion packs. No, I don't regret it.)
The second was last year when I bought my Switch which came with a copy of Mario Kart 8 (as mentioned in the video). As for why I waited until 2020 to get a Switch, a few reasons:
1. The few games I did have I was just playing on my brother's Switch (he didn't really have a problem with it)
2. Months before I got mine, LEGO Star Wars: the Skywalker Saga had been announced (if you couldn't tell by now, I'm a fan of LEGO games (still remember playing the first LEGO Star Wars on Gamecube)), so it would probably help being able to play that for hours without having to constantly borrow my brother's (now if only it hadn't been delayed for nearly 2 years)
Also, turns out I got mine just in time because a few months later, I tested positive for COVID-19, and was stuck in my room for 10 days. So at least I wasn't bored to death. Also, I had been able to get games I was already planning on getting for the Switch Anyway (SSBU, Ghostbusters Remastered, and got a pro controller with a downloadable copy of Super Mario Odyssey)
Nice
Nice

I can really relate to the first part of the comment :D But my motivation was lego city undercover. I got lego dimensions later (but the wii u version is kind of meh)
