6T70 TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY REPAIR (TIP 1) PART 2

This video shows 3 small pistons that need to be cleaned in the valve body if your vehicle has a no reverse problem. Do not just simply change the 3-5-reverse drum or you will be taking the transmission out again!!

awsome video, best I've seen on UA-cam yet. question please, my 6t70 isn't shifting 3rd to 4th gear. what's causing this please?

Great video , just did my first 6t70 valve body yesterday . This vid would have been great to watch when reassembling . 2 of the check balls had indent the plate I left as is , is that ok ? I cleaned the gaskets the way you showed in the other video with boiling water. Very tuff to remove the top plate I didn’t remove just installed with factory gasket. Also bought the pressure switch kit and fixed them , watched your video while installing them . Thank you 🙏🏻 for the great work keep it up!

you should be ok. The boiling water is for gaskets that are not bonded to the metal plate. They have just been cooked on over time. The bonded ones have to be removed with a sand pad.

I thought the passageways needed to be pressure checked and/or vacuum leak checked to ensure the accumulator ports weren't enlarged from the damage?

There is no problem in checking passageways. However, I never have an issue.

Wow that’s some awesome Info! Thank you. Could this be the cause of flaring even after new new wave plates and one one was broke.
