- This video shows the power of the AJS37 Viggen on DCS. Where I show my "ALL IN ONE" loadout that can be used for A/G and A/A all in the same flight! Any questions, feel free to ask away. I'm not a pro at these things, but I'll try to help.

Canards are the poor mans thrust vectoring equivalent.
Well imagine a thrust vectoring and canards jet (F15 smdt)
The canards on the viggen don't even move lol. They have flaps for landing and that's what they're for. They provide lift so the landing speed isn't so high, there's no advantage for turning here.
Hi.As a former USAF 32172Q-Weapons Control System Tech/Super, assigned to the 35th TFWg, 35th AMS, Radar Calibration Docks Asst Shop Chief, George AFB, Victorville, CA, I can tell you that the Swedes took the system of a 2-person cockpit of an F-4e McDonnell Douglas Phantom II, put it all into A cockpit, with their electronics added, made an airframe to hold a Boeing 737 engine WITH AFTERBURNER AND THRUST REVERSING, and came up with 'the 37'!
When I saw this on my YT DCS channel ....I drooled. PS-that '75' missile is the Swede version of the USAF AGM-65 Maverick, first used in Vietnam. In the left hand corner of the forward cockpit's dash, mounted a 9-inch sony tv to guide the missile, till the wiring the screen could be effected.

The recon mode isn’t an imaginary camera. It’s the countermeasures pod that logs all the signals it’s recieving. Viggen is pronounced like friggin, not like vegan. ;)
In enigma is a different mechanic from the elint pod. It's exclusive to the server, an "imaginary" camera pointing to the ground. Mig21 is able to do this on the red side I believe.

@Jörgen Toll yeah just like he described. You turn it on in the comms menu and flight above targets. If you manage to rtb and land safely it will automatically mark ground targets in the map for the entire team. Really cool mechanic.
@Jörgen Toll First time I've heard of this as well, but I like the idea of that feature... would love if the TARPS on HB's Tomcat would implement some functionality like this.

Viggen is gonna have to be my full fidelity plane. Looks like a blast to run around in enigma with it. I'm new to the game and I've been messing around with the fc 3 planes. Specifically the frog and a10 in enigma server.
The FC3 is such a great dlc to start off. Be sure to check out DCS free trial for most of the modules before buying them.
You can activate a specific aircraft and fly it for free for 14 days. Then I believe after 6 months, you can start the trial again for that aircraft!
Viggen main here, thing is a beast and awesome at multirole once you learn the takt system codes for certain ordinance. Very rewarding aircraft.

I personally absolutely love BVR, especially when you get into the mind games and techniques jousting each other until someone makes a mistake or take bigger risks while min-maxing your plane's performance and systems to get the most out of what you've got

You want to explore and take advantage of the gliding munitions dispenser. Those weapons are incredibly effective. Requires a little bit of programming but so cool to use. Viggen is one great aircraft!
If your talking about the cluster bomb on the Viggen, I would. They just don't have the on the cold war server I play on due to lag.
@@DTMCRAZYGAMING Bummer... but they might also have taken it out because it's basically 90's equipment (same goes for RB-15F) and want to portray 80s warfare. Those things basically make the S in the designation.

As a Swede the Viggen will always be among the top of my list of favorite planes but even if it hadn't I agree with the love for cold war servers. I just have way more fun in the super high performance jets that hasn't gone full digital or use fire and forget long range missiles. It's just more fun with a mix of high speed and dogfights. It gets more personal and it's way more fun seeing you opponent.
Actually I used the RB75 which focuses on contrast (looked at the bright TV screen before firing to see I had a good lock)…. I guess its not safe to do in the real world but in DCS it stays locked on to your target!

I found this via algorith. Apparently it _does_ seem to work - occasionally... it's much more known for not delivering notifications for your fricken belled subs :D

The JA-37 with BVR capability is missing from the simulator. Fighting from a BVR distance doesn't exclude target miss and eventual merge and dogfight. It is just the natural course of events that has to be observed.
Excellent vid...I have the Viggen, but how about some tutorials on how to use the RBMav's and missiles, and how to be better at Enigma's Server...that will definitely raise your Sub's!

i also had the issue of getting bored by bvr so i decided on just getting rid of all radar missiles on the server with my friends and it has been a lot more fun
That’s a good idea but the difficulty lvl must be insane against players who have BVR missiles

As far as I know, You can not mix trwo types of A2G ordinance in the Viggen, that is why your gunpod was not working (even when you can use it as an A2A weapon)
Its tricky.... I've tested on the mission editor. Bombs are their own thing for the most part, but you can have RB75 with gunpods and missiles.
High qulaity video, welcome to the cold war. I only fly Red there so keep an eye out ;-) I hope you're using the SRS Overlord for bogy call outs, it's essential.
I do but for recording, it does get annoying to hear in the background. I use overlord text chat 10x more but still SRS is helpful!

When you try to pronounce the ''i'' in Swedish but you actually end up pronouncing it wrong. Viggen is pronounced like the N word but replace the ''N'' with a ''V'' and the ''ER'' with ''EN'' (pronounced N)
Its important to understand the difference between 2 G's and 1 G. You pronounced it with 1 G (Vigen) which is pronounced: Vi (pronounced V, not Vai) gen (pronounced Gen, not Gjen.)
And when you put 2 G's. The ''i'' is pronounced like VIP (if you say it fast, not V I P) but take away the P.
Actually just search up how to pronounce Viggen. I don't even know why i wrote this.

You can fly the F-16 with 2x 2000lb bombs (including LGBs or JDAMs), plus HARMS or Mavericks and 4x Aim-120s if you want.
True but I’m still learn more modern jets…. There’s just so much more to them.

Having flown f18,16 and viggen. I personally prefer the f18 as a first plane. Nowadays I fly f16 because its so fast.
18 is the best all round do everything module, f16 is amazing but the thing with the viggen is it's just Raw, flying in the Enigma's cold war makes it so damn good!
Awesome video!! I'm about to buy it, but I have a question. So you can mix a single gun pod with the countermeasure pod? My understanding was that the loadouts needs to be symmetric
just got it a few days ago and i love it! but im terrible with the weapons and i havent found any help. i have figured out how the mavericks work, but the bombs i am working with sticks and duct tape to at least figure out how to drop them but not at all accurately. everything else (except the manual missile) i can only fire in the tutorials 😭

@@DTMCRAZYGAMING I always felt sick when I played on VR but now I don't ever fell sick anymore. You just have to play then rest then play again to get the body used to it.
@@BuddySpike101 You r absolutely right.... I just stick with Track Ir for other games. It works for me and I'm good with that. Still love playing VTOL VR once in a while.
@@DTMCRAZYGAMING Do that more often and try DCS again with VR after a while :) - especially if you end up deciding to fly a helo at some point. Absolute game changer.

I was looking for a jet/heli for enigmas Cold War server, what one is the most fun? The viggen?
It always depends on the player. I like the Viggen because I find it to be easy to fly and has all the different features for combat. Weather it’s A/G or A/A. For red team, a lot of players like the MiG 21. I would hold off on a heli for now. They have a specific role and it take a while to get to the front lines.
DCS offers a free trial for 14 day for each jet and helo. DEFINITELY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT BEFORE BUYING A MODULE
It really depends on what you’re interested in. A/A, A/G or utility if you need help I can give some suggestions
Best all rounder and in my opinion is more fun is the viggen. Go with the f-5 if you want to have similar variability and a easy aircraft to learn.
Flash Forward to 2 years after this video was published: DCS is failing, developers are going unpaid for years, and their stolen content is still being sold for profit by ED.
