      @@HalfClickUpSo what are your dials set at now for fuel ratios on Marthys map? If 5 is now considered base, did you leave them put, or down a click in the lower, and up at high end rpm and so forth?

    • @HalfClickUp
      @HalfClickUp  5 років тому

      Robert Smith so I’ve got all three dials turned at exactly 50% at the moment and have not experimented yet. I’m thinking of turning down the low range dial by one click though. Have experienced a slight momentary break up at light throttle in 1st gear at 15 to 20mph going red light to red light. It’s happened twice in a solid week of daily commuting.

    Hey friend, I'm here to tell you that from the power commander fc control center, you can actually see what value each setting is at, because it indicates it in values that, I think, range from -3 to +10.
    As you move each knob, you will see that on the PC you see the indicated value go up or down.
    I have loaded the map that you kindly gave me (Hindle), and I just turned those 3 dials until I left all three of them at zero value.
    I haven't tested the bike yet, but I understand that whoever made the map took the zero values into account, because otherwise, I suppose, they would have specified what trim values each knob should have.

    • @HalfClickUp
      @HalfClickUp  8 місяців тому

      I’m not entirely sure, but I can tell you that I experimented with both completely turned down and completely turned up and she ran terribly both ways. With all three set at “zero,” she screams! 👍

    Hey dude, I love your channel!
    Great content for fellow FZ6R owners.
    Quick question: did you find that since running the PCFC with Marty's map and full exhaust system, the bike has a (very) strong exhaust smell? Akin to a two-stroke engine.
    It smells as though a lot of fuel is unburnt. Therefore maybe indicating that the bike is running too rich.
    My concern is by turning the rpm dials up to 50%, the bike will run even richer.

    • @HalfClickUp
      @HalfClickUp  5 років тому +1

      tuba337 I know exactly what you’re talking about. While the map indeed creates a rich mixture, you have to remember that an aftermarket exhaust setup no longer has an emissions component to the system. You’ll notice the same rich exhaust smell on a modified car that is running true duals (for example) with no cats. Same situation with a straight header/slip-on setup on a bike. Always inspect your plugs ever so often for a personal reassurance that your mixture is just fine 😎

      @@HalfClickUp Glad to see its just not my bike.
      I got caught in bumper to bumper traffic the other day and when I finally got to the office, the exhaust smell was pungent!
      Something I never noticed when riding out of town.
      Also, I went one tooth down in the back. It's awesome, the bike has even more gusto.

    • @HalfClickUp
      @HalfClickUp  5 років тому

      tuba337 interesting choice of a tooth drop. How’d that move your power band around?

    • @tuba337
      @tuba337 5 років тому +1

      @@HalfClickUp I reread my comment, I meant one tooth UP.😁 From 46 standard to 47.
      Higher torque and much more fun from the start. My rpms are a bit higher at cruising speed ( sixth gear - 7000-7500 @120 kph) and fuel efficiency dropped but still an overall gain in grunt.

    Glad to get another opinion on the fuel trims!. I’m really enjoying mine right now, especially with the sprocket..which to be honest, I really wouldn’t recommend to you only because of your daily highway commute. Speaking about coolant temps, I have a brand new radiator with new coolant and in 95° weather I stay around 195ish so I might look into the engine ice. Looking forward to the review man, keep it coming!

    • @HalfClickUp

      Phillip Owen I’m glad you mentioned the sprocket, because I’ve been backing away from the idea lately. I think I still might be game for the timing advance mod, though.

      Phillip Owen wow, that’s a pretty good shift in the power band. I’m at 7,000 at 80mph, so I guess my 80mph interstate cruise would be closer to 8,500 or so if I drop a tooth. That’s a bit much I think..

    I just purchased an 09 fz6r, it has two brothers and juice box on it. You think it would be okay to just turn the low mid and high to the halfway mark? I am not sure what map is on there because i dont have the cord to connect to a laptop

    • @HalfClickUp
      @HalfClickUp  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, I’ve determined through experimentation with the PCFC that the halfway mark represents the “neutral” position, where the controller will run a selected map at “face value,” so to speak. That gives 50% range for turning trims down, and 50% range for turning trims up. I’m sure the Juice Box operates the same way.

    Hey, I have a fully stock 09 fz6r. I just got it last summer. Its gets about 100 degrees here in the summer and my bike heats up to about 220 in mid summer. Any advice? Or is that normal? And what's the first thing I should do to make this bike a little faster? Or just any advice period? It's only got 15k miles on it and I want it to last a long long time. Thanks.

    • @HalfClickUp
      @HalfClickUp  4 роки тому

      Jordan Brock that’s pretty dang hot dude... highest I’ve seen while running is 214. Do a coolant flush and switch it to Engine Ice, see if she runs cooler. As for go fast parts, exhaust with fuel controller is a world of difference. Let me know when you get ready and I’ll send you a killer dyno tune for it.

    • @HalfClickUp

      ni55un that first dial is only to select which map you want to run. There are 10 slots to choose from if I recall. For example, in slot 1 I have the Two Bros map, and in slot 2 I have Marthy’s map. The dial is set to 2 to run Marthy’s map.

    So many bikes probably got blown up because of this. You can see what the values are at on the computer. Your telling everyone to just turn them half way up. They are set at 0 from the factory. Only the people who listened to you in the first place should be turning them halfway up otherwise your cylinders are gonna have a gas bath

    • @HalfClickUp
      @HalfClickUp  3 місяці тому

      Oh come on now. Any extreme variation in trims by way of the controller’s dials simply causes poor performance, and I’ve confirmed that myself. The ECU compensates to the extent that the engine still runs while you correct the dial settings to restore performance characteristics to your liking. That’s the point of the PCFC’s “on-the-fly” adjustment capability. No dial setting on the PCFC results in engine failure.
