I saw you mentioned in previous commend about the last piece mod- what mods have you got and what sequence would you recommend? Also have you done the derestrict on the throttle? Also youve have this mod done for some time have you seen any issue arise with this advance?
Hey man I'd recommend that at minimum you already have a fuel controller and a tune. You'll also need to run 91 or 93 octane to prevent piston knock. First mod I did was exhaust and fuel controller with tune. I did this timing mod much later. I have experienced no issues since doing this timing mod. North American models didn't come with the throttle restriction.
What exaust do you have on your r6? My r6 is 100% stock, but I like the tone yours has. Thanks for the video tutorial. I'm definitely interested in this. I like that this bike is a nice subtle mix between the r1 and sport. Great bike to own. Again thank you

That’s the million dollar question, my friend. Several folks have reached out to me with the same question and I’ll give you the same advice so that the shop continues to get the message. The company is C.C.D.F. and they have an eBay store. Find them on there and send them a message asking when they plan to mill out more rotors for the Fizzer. There are 10 or more guys that have messaged them already, so every bit helps! Good luck!

G'day from Australia. Just bought my first FZ6R 2014. Looking forward to modifying it. Loving your videos mate, keep it up. Edit: question, is this a safe mod on its own? As in, if i do this mod will it effect reliability in any way?
As long as you run high octane fuel, it’s perfectly safe. In fact, it’ll allow for the engine to run cooler by enriching the mixture, which technically translates to additional longevity.
Hey Half click up, I recently bought a 2012 6r and am interested in buying an already machined trigger instead if filing mine but none of the links work anymore, I also live in canada so ebay charges 150$+ for shipping
Yeah man CCDF is the only company I am aware of that has ever made the custom 4 degree rotors for our bikes. Several other folks have emailed me with your same question and I always recommend that you send CCDF a message on eBay and ask them when they’re going to produce a new batch. You’d be like the 6th or 7th person to do that, so the more people that contact them, the better. They surely are aware by now of the demand for that particular timing rotor. They could sell their entire batch in less than a week.. maybe mention that little detail to them. Good luck!

Mornin’ Roger! Hey man I take pride in responding promptly to all questions 😬 I wouldn’t bother with this mod unless you’ve already done at least exhaust and fuel controller. Advancing the timing is sort of a final “stackable” mod on top of all the big things that squeezes the last bit of power output out of the ole’ Fizzer. The fact that it allows you to safely burn high octane fuel, for example, is something you wouldn’t be able to take advantage of if you didn’t have a couple of other performance parts to compliment the timing advance. Make sense?
Thankyou @HalfClickUp for the reply and tips. I basically have a 100% stock bike, so your advice makes perfect sense. You know how we are all looking for possible improvements, and like you said, this is one of the final pieces of the puzzle to max out your bikes. Sorry for just noticing your reply after 7 days. My main gaming computer crashed 5 days ago, and I just dug out my old laptop to get me back online. Thanks again for the information. Roger Louie, in SoCal. 5-25-2023
No, all work is done under the oil pump/rotor cover on the right side of the engine. You can run it without a fuel controller, but won’t get the maximum power gains.
@HalfClickUp my bad. The bracket that holds the throttle cable has a tab that restricts the throttle from opening more. I thought that tab/bracket was the restrictor. In any event it does add some punch to the bike.
@@HalfClickUpactually there is a slight restriction. At the bottom of the plate on NA models there is a small leg that kicks out at the bottom that will prevent you from opening it fully. You don’t need to swap it out you can just cut that little leg off with a dremel like I did. Bout a 20% throttle difference.

So I rung her neck on the track for two hours and burned half a tank 😬 Of course I dunno what that translates to on the street for actual MPG, but some guys were having to top off their bikes by the 3rd session.
Honestly I don’t daily commute on this bike anymore, so I haven’t had the opportunity to make any observations or calculations. I also recently swapped to 3.27 gearing, so I don’t believe there’s any hope for decent MPG on this thing anymore 😆
So, I tried doing this without the camshaft wrench. I put the bike in 1st gear and had my son step on the brake. I can't get the timing rotor to stop turning. I may have gone around half a turn. Is this going to mess up the bike? What other method can I use to get that bolt off?
No the timing is set by the orientation of the timing chain on the camshafts. It’s okay. Put the bike in neutral and blip the bolt head several times with an impact. I use the electric one from Harbor Freight.. cheap and quite durable!
@@HalfClickUpupdate: I tried putting the bike in neutral and used an air impact gun. Didn't work. I finally just lodged a small bolt inside the housing and pressed to one of the gears, or teeth of the rotor. That finally broke the bolt free! Mine must have more than 25ft lbs torque applied. No, all of your oil is in the pan, below the level of the timing cover. You’ll get a few drops from residual, but just have a rag handy to catch those drops.

As long as you run high octane fuel, it’s perfectly safe. In fact, it’ll allow for the engine to run cooler by enriching the mixture, which technically translates to additional longevity.

Mornin’ Roger! Hey man I take pride in responding promptly to all questions 😬
I wouldn’t bother with this mod unless you’ve already done at least exhaust and fuel controller.
Is this safe for the engine to do this? I've heard if you advance the timing too much it'll blow but I've also been told if you push the timing from the stock 6 to 9 that it will stand straight up and do power wheelies at about 3000rpms less than stock in the first 3 gears lol 😆 🤷
It’ll actually allow for the engine to operate at cooler temperatures. Theoretically, advanced timing will increase overall longevity 😎🤙
Man hell yeah that I didn't know, if you happen to see one of those gears that will work on our bikes let me know I started looking around for em on ebay yesterday but only found the ones for the fz's, happy riding bro thanks for the reply and sick build! Your bike is badass man I've been watching your videos on the woodcraft bars and want to do that next but am thinking about going with the 2 inch rise instead of 1.5
@@robmuhfacka5986 the one listed for the FZ6 is correct. As long as it’s made by CCDF, that’s the one you want. Thanks for watching my stuff dude, I appreciate you! And the 2” rise Woodcraft kit will be just fine.
Oh badass I didn't know that either lol you're a mountain of knowledge it seems haha and yeah bro I wanted to go with the 2 inch rise because I saw another video of people showing where the 1.5 hits the cowling in some spots and the 2 inch clears it like the stock bars so you don't lose any low speed maneuvering, props to that guy for buying and installing both just to make a video of them catching the cowl haha and you're welcome bro! What state you in i saw one of your videos was in texas? That's where I'm at in dfw
@@robmuhfacka5986 yah man I’m down here in Waco 😎🤙

I've looked everywhere, can't find the tool!!!
Yep, it's a very rare tool nowadays.
Here it is from a Japanese supplier, but it's $70.35

Yeah fuck that, I'm gonna make one! Thanks anyway bro!
@@rodneygivens8252 I don’t blame ya! 😆
@HalfClickUp O WOW I didn't know it cost that much. I think I'll rig up something for a lot cheaper than that. It's not like a everyday or ever so often tool that I'll use. 🤔
Now got to sync the throttle bodies
That’s one thing that I’ve never done, but that I’d really like to do! Dang tool is like $100 tho 🫤
@@HalfClickUp wow, had no idea the mercury ones had gone up so much, I got I bought in 1994 $25.00 is now $70.00 and the vacuum setup around $40.00 and up. Good ole and inflation😩
@@HalfClickUp when checked my plugs 1 &2 running about right, 3 & 4 running rich. Did change the stand NGK 2 prong to the NGK Iridium, had good reviews. Seem last very long time.
@@ralphrayner1783 yep I’m a fan of Motion Pro tools. Their sync tool is very nice but $100!
What are your C0 values set at?
