I used that carotid trick in one of your vids from a few years ago. It actually worked pretty well and the combatant only threw one weak, gimpy punch to the back of my forearm

Its important to understand that in a fight, ones adrenaline is coursing. Adrenaline has pain suppressing effects. Someone could get hit badly in target places and they wouldn't even necessarily feel the full trauma of it and just keep coming at you. Just don't think some special hit is gonna bring anyone down. Most of the time it won't.

So what do you do when the shoulder on your dominant side pops out of socket easily? That's my issue. I throw a punch, it comes out. In happened a couple years ago. Luckily the guy who came at me was shit faced, i skipped on sand and went to my knee and was able grab the back of his ankle and yanked up and he did a half somersault, hit the ground and i was able to flip him around and keep him there long enough for other people to show up. The police came and took him in. I didn't press charges but he already had warrants. I think it was that first physical altercation i had been in for over a decade (I've been around bad neighborhoods enough to avoid the random violence that can happen, and I'm 41, not 16 so i don't find myself in fights. None the less, shit happens as it did in this situation. I'm well aware (and if i wasn't this surely reminded me) that I'm at a strict disadvantage*. I can put my own shoulder back in socket (and it is NOTHING like Lethal Weapon, so if you have going yourself having to put it back in, DO NOT try that. I shove something up into my armpit, pull the elbow of the bad side, pull it down then roll it towards the other side of my body, a can of soda or something similar works well.), but it's not something you can do in the middle of a fight. When my arms below it throwing underhand, it's fine. I can lift heavy things, but i have to keep my elbow in. I was fortunate the situation was what it was, if it was someone sober and more capable, odds are it wouldn't have worked out as well, although someone sober likely wouldn't have acted like this guy had. *As bad as that was, it's happened in far more sketchy situations. It was a really old injury that hadn't even given me problems until the first time. That was doing a sunrise skydive when i used to work as camera flyer. It popped out without warning (i stopped logging all my jumps after around 1500 and had easily done anther 500 at this point, and i never had an issue before). It was the arm i use to deploy my chute, they went away from ripcords and went to manual deployment where you have to physically throw the pilot chute out to inflate and that pulls out your main. I was able to fire my reserve, but it took some fumbling around to find the handle because my rig had shifted to the side due to the right shoulder strap rolling past the shoulder that was out of socket.
You missed the goolies, I gave my mate a nipple gripple once, he grabbed my bollocks, 'I cried'!!!!! Think head grappling might be the most controlling.
Good video shifu but can i interject a small point of reality. All these you tube videos claim to give advice to novices but lack 1 particular point. When your attacked, your attacker is doing ALL he can do to achieve his goal so shouldnt you as the victim do all you can do to stop the attack. Shifu Wei taught leg strikes and arm strikes prolong the fight and thats not your goal as victim. He taught strike first, strike fast, strike vunerable area then run.

Ending the FIGHT early even when your young has it advantages. Sharpen your skills, so a quick ending can be a goal in our practice.

It's not ideal for straight punches, better for haymarkers in my opinion.

Why dont you like the headbutt? I admit I dont like it too.. seems to be dangerous in losing position and offsetting focus and balance..
