I got into collecting modern TF's at the start of War for Cybertron, so all the stuff that came before is kindda new and interesting to me, this looks like a great Whirl - I'd happily have him on my shelf with my WFC gang.
I have this guy, and I'm pretty sure the reversed thigh pieces were intentional, so that the holes would face *down* in vehicle mode & give it a cleaner look. if they were facing up, it wouldn't really be nice to look at. and hey, I can just think of them as extra robot-mode details, so it's not too bad.
I remember a friend had the G1 Whirl and this looks like a great update of that distinctive toy. One thing I notice in your video is that it seems to fit in well with live-action Transformers, with its more overtly mechanical styling.
So before now I never knew that his arm collapsed in. I love this figure, but My biggest problem we’re that the arms were too far from the body. But this fixes that. so thanks for making this figure even better for me man!.
man I wish you showed us The Actual characters with names and short clips of the actual episodes or scenes we can remember them by? like "touch toys" that's a game changer and its being So slept on.
I love this boy, G1 Whirl was one of, if not my first Transformers toy so I am a bit biased. I also love how he is also a low key modern edition of a mech from an obscure anime called Dorvack so mecha nerds like myself get some added enjoyment from this guy
Hey, you forgot one other Whirl he can be compared to, Generations: Fall of Cybertron Whirl. Though to be fair everyone forgot about every figure in that Wreckers combiner team.
As I recall, the stickers were actually intended as a gimmick. A throwback to G1, and to GI Joe, as he and Roadbuster's vehicle modes kind of looked like something from that line. Honestly, they made me feel completely ham-fisted will all the difficulty I had trying to get even half of them on.
i remember watching "Special Armored Battalion Dorvack" cartoob in the 1980's , too bad the show ended , the toyline were purchase by Hasbro , but Whirl and Roadmaster didn't appear in any mainstream Transformers cartoon. but recently Whirl appeared in Cyberverse. It is a cool toy Helicopter is kind of out of place in Space warfare , and In "Dorvack " it didn't make sense for a jeep to transform into a Giant robot .
I had him when o was little I loved that toy do damn much it was my only toy I played with that thing for years but I lost it when moving and I’ve been trying to find one for a good price
got a second hand one of this figure and roadbuster at a good price(bought them separately but at the same day) a few months ago but didnt know the arms can be push inside until i watch yr video lol was wondering why the arms are so weird in robot mode.
I still don't know how, but I have an original version of him that I don't remember buying. It is still one of my favorite figures because I used to love owning choppers as a kid. A few years ago, I bought a sorta beat up version of it from a flea market that I always planned to fix somehow.
I got the Transformers Cloud repaint that turns him into Shockwave. The accessories are all translucent pink and there're no stickers. The thighs are the same as your Whirl's. I bought it second hand, but upon opening it just now I see it's brand new! Bonus! I paid £50, which I think is fair for a Japanese only figure.
As me being a young Transformers fan I remember one of my friends in preschool brought the box and figure not even opened and surprisingly not everyone was attracted by it now I’ve never seen that kid again well that’s a lie I saw him at the fair
I really want one of those, the mold is just great, may be the legs are a bit not as good in helicopter mode, but mAn, i love the desingz stikers, colors abd articulation.
My only complaint with this figure would be the fact of when it was released hasbro was doing a bunch of Idw and Mtmte designs, and then whirl who is g1
I just bought Siege Impactor and Springer. Now I'm fighting the urge to track Whirl down and start a Wreckers collection.😎 UPDATE: I did! I have everyone but Rack 'n' Ruin.
I just found one for less than 25 bucks.its new in packaging. I think its pretty worth it but i never had it in hand. So is the whirl worth that price or should i continue looking for a cheaper price?
Hmmm to be honest, he isn t that good. Like sure he get's Whirl look's nicely (if you looking for G1 look). And articulation is more or less still good. Plus all the weapons. But the chopper mode, ehhhhh... Not really. Like sure this is an helicopter, but it doesn t look too nice to be honest. And Yes, Cyberverse 1 step changer look's better over all (at least in my opinion) The thise stick out really badly, and the landing strut's look like an "after thought" .
A very underrated character glad Cyberverse gave him some screen time
Tell that to his brother roadbuster
That's jolt not whirl..
@@Unitykn1ght what
Cyberverse gave most underrated characters new screen time
Except Lugnut... Why replace beauty???

Appreciate you looking at these older figures. Thrilling 30/generations was an exciting time and pop culture was exploding in popularity.
Older figures are my jam

Ditto.

One of my all time favorite toys and characters from all of Transformers thank you IDW for using him to his full potential
So before now I never knew that his arm collapsed in. I love this figure, but My biggest problem we’re that the arms were too far from the body. But this fixes that.
so thanks for making this figure even better for me man!.
I had this figure for about 9 years now and I never knew you could push the shoulder connector in until now.
i've had this figure since release and never knew you could push the arms in like that
man I wish you showed us The Actual characters with names and short clips of the actual episodes or scenes we can remember them by? like "touch toys" that's a game changer and its being So slept on.
Me seeing the third transformation where Whirl is in helicopter mode but has his legs and arms out: Metal Gear?!
I did 100% forget that existed
As I recall, the stickers were actually intended as a gimmick. A throwback to G1, and to GI Joe, as he and Roadbuster's vehicle modes kind of looked like something from that line. Honestly, they made me feel completely ham-fisted will all the difficulty I had trying to get even half of them on.
We need a new studio series/mainline Whirl figure
Now I'm wondering if the Dianauts would fit in the cockpit.
i remember watching "Special Armored Battalion Dorvack" cartoob in the 1980's , too bad the show ended , the toyline were purchase by Hasbro , but Whirl and Roadmaster didn't appear in any mainstream Transformers cartoon. but recently Whirl appeared in Cyberverse.
It is a cool toy Helicopter is kind of out of place in Space warfare , and In "Dorvack " it didn't make sense for a jeep to transform into a Giant robot .
We need new proper Whirl toys.
I have one of these I didn’t know anything about him until recently
I had him when o was little I loved that toy do damn much it was my only toy I played with that thing for years but I lost it when moving and I’ve been trying to find one for a good price
I own the TF Cloud Shockwave repaint of this mould and it's freakin' amazing.
I had one of these i riped of the head thinking hes a headmaster
Dude, I love your videos.
Whirl looks like Pathfinder from Apex Legends
he looks like a drone from transformers the game
After the value of a figure I thought you're my in Toybox I got it for my birthday a couple years back and yes it is a good toy
got a second hand one of this figure and roadbuster at a good price(bought them separately but at the same day) a few months ago but didnt know the arms can be push inside until i watch yr video lol was wondering why the arms are so weird in robot mode.
I chose not to put the stickers on this guy when I first got him almost a decade ago, but now I wanna, but I Lost the sheet
I would be happy to get whirl in legacy.
I kinda wish I got this guy back in the day. I saw him several times and had him in my hand but you can’t buy everything and I’m out of room
I still don't know how, but I have an original version of him that I don't remember buying. It is still one of my favorite figures because I used to love owning choppers as a kid. A few years ago, I bought a sorta beat up version of it from a flea market that I always planned to fix somehow.

I reallly really like how he looks , he looks very modern cuz of the light color they choosed
i reccogmend genaration voyager class roadbuster because he is so bulky and he is my favorite autobot i own
This guy along with Roadbuster look good enough, and scale well enough, to use as stand-ins in my mp collection.
I think the backward thighs are because of helicopter mode
I had this figure! But I lost him soon after getting hm :(
As me being a young Transformers fan I remember one of my friends in preschool brought the box and figure not even opened and surprisingly not everyone was attracted by it now I’ve never seen that kid again well that’s a lie I saw him at the fair
Just got a dotm Roadbuster and g1 grapple for a total of 40$ both are in good condition but are missing their weapons
@2:26 Hey... why you put the ROTF Lockdown in there?! lol
Honestly, he needs an update, PRONTO
I really want one of those, the mold is just great, may be the legs are a bit not as good in helicopter mode, but mAn, i love the desingz stikers, colors abd articulation.
Jst switch the leg joints over. Easy fix
I cannot for the life of me find a whirl
Whirl was at his best in MTMTE
I've owned this figure since he was released and until this video I never knew his arms could be pushed in like in the video
I had blackout and a lot of the pins do not connect
My only complaint with this figure would be the fact of when it was released hasbro was doing a bunch of Idw and Mtmte designs, and then whirl who is g1
I think the hollow gaps on its thighs being outward is actually intentional due to it transformation
I remember getting him when he first came out I don't remember what happened to it honestly
Are you going to get kingdom cyclonus
Mine broke. Planning to replace him with the MMC fig.
Oh pain. Where did it break?
I'm not a fan of how he looks. I'll wait for Hasbro to make a new one that hopefully will look more like his IDW version.
I just bought Siege Impactor and Springer. Now I'm fighting the urge to track Whirl down and start a Wreckers collection.😎
UPDATE: I did! I have everyone but Rack 'n' Ruin.
Whirl is alright. If anything the Roadbuster from the same line is the one that's overblown.
I just found one for less than 25 bucks.its new in packaging. I think its pretty worth it but i never had it in hand. So is the whirl worth that price or should i continue looking for a cheaper price?
That's a great price
@@ThatToyGuy understood. Thank you very much. Ill order it tomorrow
wait his arms push in wtf
Looks good
Just managed to snag this for 15gbp
We need a new IDW Whirl figure. Something really ugly & spikey with lots of guns & a sword.
And Yes, Cyberverse 1 step changer look's better over all (at least in my opinion)

We need a cyberverse whirl comparison
If he wasn't lost I would have totally done one. But sadly he has gone missing
Oh that’s sad. But if you ever find him. You know what to do
Super Thunder Blade
Knowing nothing about the character, the design looks like something man-made and my be mass-produced, like the drones in iron man 2
i have that one
I lost mine over time :(
I used to have this guy
Pathfinder and thundercracker
Mine just arived. And Yeah. Those lil leg joints are way to tight. Ill just ignore them and do other chicken legs
IDW springer
V1
Not idw design good
Cyberverse Whirl is an angel and must be protected at all costs
