The Ed Roberts Campus is the first building of its kind in the nation-a non-profit community center serving and celebrating the Independent Living / Disabled Rights Movement. Located at a regional public transit hub in Berkeley, California and integrating advanced strategies of Universal Design and Sustainable Design, the project welcomes and supports people of all abilities.
Commemorating the life and work of Edward V. Roberts, an early leader in the independent living movement of persons with disabilities, it has become the foremost disability rights service, advocacy, education, training, and policy center in the world.

I feel a great sense of pride to be working with colleagues at WID and with colleagues of other agencies in this historic and world class center. This video was extremely well made and shares the vision and spirit of renewal, community and strength.

I volunteer at a place in England that is about to become a centre for independent living, hoping to eventually find work there, in the area of independent living products. I would love where i volunteer to get anywhere near as good as this place seems to be, im definitely going to share this video with people there. that ramp is fantastic!!

I'll share with our group of discussion about inclusion and accessibility at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Fantastic the Ed Roberts Campus. Hope we can get there.

Agree! Beautiful. This so much reminds me of the Guggenheim Museum in NYC - was that accessible too?
As an advocate for all with hearing loss and deafness, we hope this can be mentioned in another film too - e.g. wireless for good access to speech to text (real time on site or remotely; captioning inclusion for all events; etc.
    cheers to your center!
