I noticed he’s like why would anyone apologize and admit what happened in a video and then delete it and deny it after
As I recall sntr never admitted anything and he apologized for making people feel uncomfortable with some poorly tasted jokes.
Sntr lost a lot more that a lot of people who have done much much worse. He’s no saint but man he got crushed for basically having poor social skills.

@dennylafoss Yeah, I remember the videos pretty well. He was apologizing for making people feel uncomfortable. In fact, a lot of the stories that had come out against him he later showed that he had apologized to them before any of this stuff came out and he didn't bother them again after that.
It's just not fair to keep calling someone a scumbag based on stories when there also actual facts laid out on the table that should at least be seen and considered.

Seems like this situation hits differently when the person is connected to you.
If a person is a dirtbag, regardless of connection, they are a dirtbag. How we talk about “known” people vs “unknown” people is an interesting psychological exercise. Specifically it’s interesting when we will make concessions for the known person and find reasons to continually shame the not “personally connected” person for similar actions (civil or legal). Yes people have their opinions about things, but where is the consistency? Can we admit that we are bias?
Also, since TV bought it up, I think it’s important to note the United States does not have a perfect track record legally in prosecuting people, “yes there are times when people admit to doing things that they did not do”. There are a number of reasons why people would admit guilt in such situations, for example coercion. Perhaps the person feels a certain level of undue guilt that is not related to specific charges, or maybe just maybe people in emotional moments don’t always make the best decisions. People get offered plea deals and are made to believe this is the best course of action, to plead out to avoid worse consequences. I guess what I’m saying is that, we need to expand our perspective, and consider everything within a situation, including our biases before calling for fire and brimstone for the “unknown person”, and casually talking around the whiskey cooler about our old PVP buddy.
Kudos to TV for covering this and putting him self on those train tracks, because he didn’t need to do the video detailing that connection. I’m sure someone else would have, but consistency in how we talk about “dirtbags” needs to be shored up here. What about that old mantra “just because we have the freedom to speak, does not mean we should speak”.
So just like TV has his perspective so to do I. My perspective is society needs to be better at being consistent with its takes on “dirt baggery”.

Yeah this is no good. At my last work I was called out for saying inappropriate things to a female coworker. I didn’t mean anything by it but I didn’t realize it was wrong until she pointed it out. She was totally correct and it was a good wake up call to remember that I don’t know the lives of everyone around me and I can’t assume that words are totally harmless just because I didn’t mean any harm. I feel very grateful to that person for saying something because otherwise I’d just be some freak she was forced to spend her days with to earn a paycheck. Be thankful to people who call you out on your shit. They are making you a better person. (Also it’s very clear that wealth rots your mind, soul and personality. There are literally no good wealthy people and I don’t think it’s coincidence. JRR TOLKIEN wrote about the rot that came from riches and he was absolutely correct)
