I do hope they remaster the original Deus Ex games. Give it the Halo 2 Anniversary treatment. Did not recall how many died in the Aug Incident. Damn. Even housing complexes won't allow Augs inside after that. Jensen's old apartment from HR has turrets outside the front door.
Mecha-san no, they shouldn’t remaster it. They should make a completely new game. I think about 50 million died during the Incident, though i could be wrong.
Sahil Samtani No, there must have been more. 87% of augs died during the Incident and in 2029 there were 7.1 million augs in the world. So according to my calculations (do bear in mind that i am pretty bad at maths), about 47.5 million augs died during the incident. Add to that the non-augmented citizens, and you should get a number that’s around 50 million.
I felt guilty killing them when I played through. I mean, the developers had 50+ running straight on and placed a mini-gun right next to you. It was like, well, I guess I need to kill these crazy people because of a malfunctioning chip, but otherwise they're innocent.
My one critique with this video is that it seems to jump around the place in terms of the timeline, people, plot, and subject related to augmentations (technological context and societal context). It seems like it would be very confusing for those who aren't familiar with the lore and story, especially when some pieces of context build off each other. Here's a small sample of the DX history where a few things that were touched on are tied together: (spoiler warning). In 2027, mechanical augmentations allow humans to surpass their own mental and physical capabilities. Though it comes at a cost with the constant requirement of Neuropozine, _a drug produced by a single corporation and monopolized by conspirators who wish to control, influence, and maintain technological advancement._ Megan Reed's research developed a means to bypass the need for Neuropozine, _threatening those in power who control Augmentations through the Neuropozine supply._ The research was sabotaged and never made public. _Seeking a more stable way to retain their control over augmentations, the conspirators used their influence to_ develop a new biochip _based off of Reed's research,_ allowing them remote access to regulate an Aug's systems. _This biochip was quickly developed at the Omega Ranch through human trials._ _The global scale of data and processing power required to manage this task facilitated the need for a supercomputer, one that is capable of abstract processing which at the time was only possible by interfacing with human minds._ The most extreme augmentations at the time were performed on a select few to use them for this purpose, thus creating the Hyron Project. Widespread distribution of the new biochips were made successful through conspiracy-controlled media campaigns and the broadcasting glitches and disruptions to augmented individuals without the new biochip implant. The Conspirators' plan for widespread control was sabotaged by Hugh Darrow using the _Hyron Project_ to hijack the signal in the most destructive way possible to sabotage the conspiracy, demonstrate the present danger of its control, and destroy augmented technology as a whole; dissuading the world from developing it further. This action became _The Aug Incident, directly resulting in the wider, and long-term_ rift between augmented and non-augmented citizens, only revolutionizing once Nanotechnology became feasible in the 2050s.
yes nano augmentations are way more interesting in its applications and parallels with cellular biology and i think will be more realistic long term method of augmentation seeing it takes the best of mechanical and biological tech and allows them to work together with their strengths

Megaman Zero and ZX tech would be fun to look into. Get Reploid REVO to colab with you for the Biometal and human augmentations from Megaman ZX series and the Zero era reploids.
what irritates me is that when the cybernetics generate a force field, it becomes heavier to walk and even harder to run since the force field likely connects to the ground. although I do appreciate the function, I get the impression that not enough resources are used for this project.
What if you had been born with a malformed heart so you had to get an augmentation to keep you alive, would you be in the lower class of augmented people or no?
As long as that heart ain't visible no. The level of ignorance in such a reality would be so high that even crippled people with mechanical support wouldn't be exempted from discrimination.
Ay! Ay! Your description. You say Deus Ex. alone. You cannot do that! Deus Ex. the original is far superior to these two newer games. The video above the description is splendid. I don't think you got anything wrong besides your description.
Draugnaustaunikun Hymnphoo You mean far inferior, right? The original deus ex was a pretty good game, but compared to these, it was nothing. It’s just that the game came out a long time ago and many people played it over a decade ago, so the nostalgia keeps telling them that it’s the best game ever, while in reality it was nothing special at all. Human Revolution was a masterpiece of a game.
