Wonderful tips, thank you! I landscaped a hill with walkways. I actually utilized chipped slate for the walkway as it is less likely to roll down the hill. It has done well for 5+ years.
Thank you for the garden tour and tips. Your property is gorgeous, and I admire that you do everything right. It really makes a difference in the energy frequency and lovliness of your gardens. I would like to also see more of your bonsai. You are a master!
Thank you for sharing the name of the master you follow. I'll check him out. I'm just a beginner bonsai grower of 3 years. I lost most of them over the winter from the cold.
I admire your dedication. I know how hard it is the keep pathways groomed when your garden is surrounded by large trees. Often gardening is just housework out of doors.
Hi there, I just found your channel today.. Love your garden.. I modeled mine after the Japanese style garden as well.. I love all the tips you note in your video.. Thank you... Can't wait to watch more of your videos...
You have a beautiful garden. I like your style. I started adding lots of gravel pathways to my property. Im love it because it such low maintenance and indestructible.
🤗 oh my goodness so many ideas I love the Oriental style garden and I have never seen a video like this before. I look forward to seeing and learning everything you can share thank you 🙏
Wow! This video was super helpful! I have a Japanese dwarf maple right next to the front door & couldn’t figure out what to do with it! I have some ideas now, thanks to this video! Great tips - off to watch your other videos now!
Gorgeous yard. Thank you for the very helpful info. I’m about to try to install a garden pathway in my backyard by myself as a woman. Going to use my tiller and then buy a cheap compactor and use that #57 gravel you recommended I think. Someone also recommended running pipe along the pathway under the ground (while I have it all dug up anyway) to be used for later installation of pathway lighting.
I tried it once in a path and the mower tires sank through to the #57. If it’s high foot traffic or vehicle path I would always opt for #57. Happy gardening
aquarium and pond keeper for my whole life. green water is healthy water, not attractive, but actually good for the fish. If it starts to turn yellow, do an immediate water change as the algae is dying and will be toxic.
Suggestions for cheap lawn edging that actually works? The metal stuff is soooo expensive and the plastic is a real PITA to put in . I am also trying to slowly bring the edges of my yard inward. But the cost of edging it well is prohibitive right now!

Thank you so much! It’s just hobby level. The true master just moved to Kyoto. His channel name is Esei en bonsai (Bjorn). Happy gardening

Thanks very true. I also view it as exercise and great way to get vitamin D from the sun.
Some folks just have a better eye for these things. This gentleman makes $10 dollars look like $100. I make $100 look like a penny, lol.
Same!
Same
Yup, same
Me too!
what a gorgeous property! You can tell the care you have taken to create such beautiful spaces
It’s been a great hobby…the older I get the more I realize it’s only temporary. Happy gardening

I think the idea is sound….lighting really helps. I rented a dingo to move 80 tons of #57. Made it massively easier. Good luck.
@@ZenGardenOasis. ok thanks for the info👍
Your Koi pond needs a good bog filter! Thanks for the tips! I want to make some cement boulders.
True….I had to move it from its old location which had a bog filter but a home repair issue limited time to move it….the bog filter worked perfectly.
New subscriber here ❤
Thanks for subbing!
Beautiful garden. What zone are you in?
nice gardens ! Thanks for the tips. I was wondering if it would work …using the #57 gravel and then just topping it off with the pea gravel?
I tried it once in a path and the mower tires sank through to the #57. If it’s high foot traffic or vehicle path I would always opt for #57. Happy gardening
I would like to see a 10 minute video on those Bonsai
With your hostas in planters, do you move them indoors during the winter. I'm in zone 7B. Thanks!
I heard many years ago hostas like the winter. The die back and return each year even better than before. Happy gardening
I had hostas in pots for years in zone5/6. They looked gorgeous because the plant itself is so formal and dramatic in a pot.

True. But part of having my koi is the joy of watching her. Cheers
Do you have weed block fabric under the gravel?
No I put it down with a rented dingo (earthmover). It’s about 4-6 inches thick. It does get weeds and I have to treat them 2-3x per year.

I purchased my edging almost 20 years ago so pricing was easier on the wallet.
I have been collecting bigger rocks and edging mine that way
I have the volume all the way up and can’t hear you well. Do you limit the sound when editing
My mic is not the best thinking of replacing
Light link?😊 sorry I found it.
“It will last if you maintain it and keep weeds out of it..”. Oh well that eliminates it for me.
Burning pressure treated lumber.....be careful breathing.
plastic rocks? um, no thank you!! i will not support or sustain plastic use every again!!
