Man that sucks, you are so lucky that you hit the wheel and not engine, rad, grill, etc. The fact that you still have a great time and laugh, and have a killer sense of humor even after all that is what makes watching your shows awesome!
It won’t stop you guys! You are a trooper and will fix it better and be back out there!! This series has inspired me to do more with my project and actually enjoy it!! Thanks for all of the killer content and motivation!!!
I'm 45 and catching all the references only my Generation would catch, makes me wonder about all the ones I missed that Boomers and The Greatest Generation did while I was a kid. Myself, I prefer..."You Over-rotated Cru". Hehe
@@FinnegansGarageI wish you still made those shirts you were wearing at Tin Soldiers. This was fun to watch. Blasphemi and the Rubber Duck are the cars I look forward to seeing.
Mike, when you explained how hot the blower was on the different runs throughout the week, I think I noticed that when it's hot, you leave the line in a cloud of black fuel smoke, when the bower was cooled down, no smoke. It's probably way down on power when its hot and overfueled for the amount of air going in compared to when its cool and the air is right for the fuel. Just a theory. Great week! thanks for sharing!
That's quite a list! Jeebus, Blasphemi is the gift that keeps on giving!😂 Good on ya for finishing, and then "accidentally" hitting that pipe so beers could happen! Congratulations, guys, and hopefully you can finally make it back to Frag Week! 🤘❤️🙂🇨🇦
Carolina squat claims another victim! Just messin' with ya Mike, a mistake anyone could make, respect for including it in the video. Great series that showed you how to make the car better and you had a blast, now it's time to come back better than ever! Thanks for taking us along.
for real. Definitely making a smaller hood scoop and lowering the front of the car down a bit. i never even saw that pipe even though i drove right up to it and stopped.
Love it Mike...not trying to sound weird or nothing but dude the little chuckles you do during your video's just cracks me up...always smiling....we will tighten everything..even the dash screws..chuckling..love the content guys keep it rolling
Way to go you guys!!!! This car is back to having a bright future moving forward. I still just love to see and here your it’s my favorite. Hopefully you’ll have time to make drag week this year.
The shifter was loose, i always have to remind myself to look at the simple stuff with how technical/complicated everything has gotten it is so easy to skip past the basics expecting it to be something deeper in.
Let's be honest, this guy doesn't double check anything, it's a wonder it makes it down the track once in a while. It took how many guys just to get the engine sorted because he would just throw it in and go. I've come to expect the worst.
I was tense on every single Blasphemi pass. That was some of the best car content I've ever seen. You could really feel the pain and the joy of drag and drive racing. Now get that Caddy ready for Drag Week!!!
I had the same problem on my Hurst Comp Plus shifter and I ended up using Nylok's on it after the entire handle came loose at 75mph going down the highway. Good times. You guys help make me feel normal.
The trick with a faceplated transmission (I have 2 cars with faceplated tko's) is to just put pressure the shifter, tap the clutch and your in the next gear. It wont come out of gear until you hit the clutch. Don't depress the clutch to the floor The higher the revs and faster you shift the less clunking there is. When racing, use the clutch, its faster than clutchless shifting and no lifting, keep the throttle floored. As far as clutchless shifting goes, when going easy just lift the throttle and gently shift to the next gear. Thats the best way to shift when just tolling around. Rev match when downshifting. I rarely use my clutch unless my going hard through the gears,
You finished wohooooo !!!! ..... 4th is far better than not at all.... enjoyed the series Mike and Joe, thanks for the share... Best wishes toward next year and the future of Blasphemi. Take care, stay safe, cool and free ! 🏁🏁🏁🏁🍻🍻
That was awesome, love the way you guys put a bandaid on it, laughed it off and looked forward to what tomorrow brings. Can't wait for more episodes of Finnegan's Garage to see the new improvements.
Hey Mike instead of re-gearing your differential, You might consider just putting smaller diameter tires on for the driving portion. Just a thought. Thanks for the great Contant always love it.
What a great attitude, Finnegan. As maddening and frustrating as that damage is, looking at how you’re going to make it better is awesome! Looking forward to seeing it back on the track!
A drag and drive event across the beautiful Commonwealth of Kentucky in the middle of the summer is a bucket list must do for this old fart typing this comment. For my entire 55 years I've traveled from Detroit to the mountains of eastern Kentucky to visit family. Ive passed by that Clay City dragway hundreds of times. I mean that literally, dad once said i was only 3 days old on my first trip down. Just a few miles east of that track is a state park where you will find Natural Bridge. You take an old ski lift to top of the mountain then a 1/4 mile hike to the most beautiful stone bridge. Over time nature has eroded the opening underneath a huge rock creating an almost man made looking walk bridge. With miles of trails one can travel, that entire park is one of my favorite places in the world to visit. Highly recommended if you are ever in that area. It warms my heart to see that dragstrip flourishing because ive seen too many tracks close down and eventually eliminated, so to see this one survive is a real treat. A drive from Clay City, across the middle of the state over to Bowling Green is such a gorgeous ride. Dads family are from the mountains in the east and moms family are all from the rolling plains in the west. Mom lives just 60 miles from Bowling Green so this drag and drive would be like visiting both sides of my family. Watching Mike and Joe cruising the 55 Chevrolet from track to track and making low 9 sec passes at each stop makes my entire day better! Any car thst successfully completes a drag and drive is a hot rod that commands respect, so hats off to all y'all who went and conquered. Making a sticky note and putting on the 'fridge now... "must compete in drag and drive across kentucky to Cincy and back before meeting Jesus"
I replaced the shift bushings on my old 74 Chevy truck with a three on the tree and it never felt right again. The throw was less than half of what it had always been, trying to bang gears my brain couldn't get used the short throw and with that old 250 six in a hiily environment quick shifts were desirable. But at least it quit jamming in two gears. When my mind was preoccupied the new bushings shifted smooth as butter though.
I love Road Kill, Road Kill Garage but I also love Fins Garage... It's all so cool. RK went right past my house several years ago, I put up signs, Tools. food, and dry garage and Beer! I was hoping the squad was going to need some help.... Maybe next time.
From reading the title of the video I was hoping you didn’t go into the wall. Thanks for sharing this. The sights and sounds bring back so many great memories. I need to go out to the track for a night or two, just so I can smell the rubber and fuel again.
I have to admit to never being a fan of the gasser but I love the Blasphemi and all that you've done with it. I also appreciate that you run a manual even though it's got to be harder to drive at those kinds of speed and power levels
"Hard work good and hard work fine... But first take care of head.... " Man. We got a caddyshack reference AND a sublime hit, so we got that going for us..

Congratulations on a solid finish, (except for the concrete thingy you hit)!!! lol. Stay safe ,, Go Fast…. 👍🏻👍🏻
Mike Please read this post! Please for your wife and kids wear your 4 point seat belts when driving anywhere anytime. I knew someone who had a race car and was driving in town at 40 mph and someone pulled out in front of him and he hit the brakes but failed and ended up with him and his friend destroying their faces on the dashboard, it was terrible! Years of surgeries and they will never be the same again. This was so preventable, they had the lap belt on but the shoulder belts were just laying on the seat unused. This made a big impact on me I hope you take this advice. Thanks for listening and thanks for all you do to keep us all interested in cars.
This is my favorite kind of content! I love everything that has to do with Blasphemi. This is like the modern-day Two-Lane Blacktop. I'm just disappointed your mechanic (Joe Cole) didn't talk about changing the jets on the carb. LOL! You are also missing the hitchhiker.
I've been watching since the beginning of Roadkill and enjoyed every moment!!! I'm so very happy for you two getting through all of this drag week, and im looking forward to seeing ya'll again for the next drag week. Keep up the awesome car and, at times, comedy content!!! I'm not entirely familiar with Hemis, but I keep looking for a comment with why there are two nuts missing on the front of the oil pan. Thank you, be careful, and be well.
I had my shifter come loose once so what I did was put a longer bolts then put nylock nuts on the other side.problem solved and way better then a lock washer..
The green and wood grain Malibu Wagon reminds me of the 409 cars at Super Chevy shows that twist and lift the left front tire on launch. Really Cool!!!
Hello Hello From Canada!!! Hey big guy that was a brutal way to end the trip, but you finished event with class. Most anyone there, would have been upset and running around the pits trying to borrow parts, then probably frantically slamming it back in shape. Like you said "Not worth wrecking the car" and because it really wasn't possible to repair it to be 100%, your safety matters most of all. Even though I'd love to see you winning an event, seeing you healthy and happy is the best ending for the episode. The stuff you have planned for the car are going to turn it into a beast for the next races. I don't know if you'll even check the messages but it was awesome to go along with you and Joe on this trip. I was wondering why Joe never did any runs? If I was you I'd go crazy with hole saws and dimple dies every where on the door panels, trunk floor etc, you'll be able to shave another 100 lbs. or more off her, but keep more of the structural strength much better than attacking the panels with a reciprocating saw. There might even be a big market for Blasphemi t-shirts with "holes and dimple dies" graphics all over them. Keep up the incredible content and I can't wait to see all the mods you are planning to do.
This was a cool road trip and great little video series. I had never heard of drag and drive before, looks like so much fun. I look forward to your future endeavors with Blasphemi.
That's what it's all about right there! I hope to make sick week this year in Bradenton! Missing LS Fest, but have tickets!lol Building a 99 Camaro, 408" LS, Mike Lough motor, w/a 91/102 FIS turbo from Jose. Hope it'll break into the 7's, full weight, plus a/c and more weight!lol
Tin soldier shop have a very good reputation. I've been to many meets and races on an off track an they always have parts on a few rigs with everything good to say . Cool to see there operating.
You finished, thats what it's all about! And now you have a reason to ditch the leafs and run coilovers like the OG Two lane blacktop car. It'd be fun to watch the process of converting it 😎
Any body else miss that Mike took a sip of his beer without the effing can open?! Rookie move.... thats a solid too many beers before the camera got rolling and forgor he had a few! Love from Australia dude!!!!
Brother this series of video was awesome thank you for doing this and letting us see. I do hate that the front end got hurt but like you said you're going to fix it anyway so that's a great thing I can't wait to see what you guys do with this car!!
EDGEWATER “the race place in Cincinnati “ Local racetrack my Dad worked there a few summers when I was a kid. Glad you stopped by TSR, those guys are doing big things.
Kevin Smith is using Miralat (however you spell it) suspension parts on his 78 Cutlass. I'd suggest getting a Pro Stock trans someday if you can afford it.. That way you'd still have the H pattern required for Gasser/Stick Shift but it shifts a lot faster. If I had the money to build a drag & drive car, I'd definitely put a Winter's Quick Change in it.. that way you can have track gears and then highway gears and ever have to worry about it.
Hey Mike, It was a fun road trip! So you didn't get 3rd place, you got a cool experience to drive the Hot Rod on the road, checked out some new sights, had a few beers with new friends, this is what drag'n drives are all about to me anyways. and 2 out of three ain't a bad place to be!
I had a very beautiful 87 GN with only 32k in 95-99 still had the plastic on the radio and instrument cluster. Absolutely loved that car when I stopped to get my girlfriend up for homecoming her dad saw the car and said that I could meet her there at our High School. Had so much fun with it and ripping burnouts with 5 people in the car was a lot of fun.
Not gonna lie, had low key anxiety the whole time watching this, waiting to see if you guys finished or not(and how bad the carnage was) LOL. But you got an official finish AND, frankly, the damage wasn't as bad as I was expecting! By my standards, mistake-free is an impossibility - so, congrats on the huge success!😅 Looking forward to seeing Blasphemi evolve yet further, especially now that the engine is [presumably] solid.
Congratulations looks like a heck of alot of fun glad to see that old American Iron rowing gears and kicking###. Big fan from nm keep up the awesome work🎉
I prefer to think Finn makes numerous chances to achieve and isnt successful 100% of the time. This is how You LIVE life to the fullest. Props to You Mr. Finnegan!
You think you gotta handle on your craftsmanship, then you see a shop and the work they do, and you realize you know nothing. Wow, those rear-end housing were a work of art, that is absolutely beautiful.
Great job guys. You’re out there doing the damn thing while other dudes are sitting at home talking they smack. Haha. Best vids in a while. Congrats on the success.
Finnegan, MY GUY!!! You're slowly starting to enter walrus mode! im a man of size currently myself, so i'm just here to warn you to get it together while you can! You do not want to be a guy like me, whom has left walrus mode, and started to enter the phase of looking, and feeling like a hippopotamus! Health is wealth my friend! lets get it in check, both you and I! (I'm talking to myself here basically, but directing it towards you somehow makes it seem more motivational to I, and hopefully you, lol)!
Talk with some of your friends in Southeast Gassers about the front end and more travel etc. Probably just different shocks. The wreck could have been a lot worse and at a worse time. We all do dumb stuff. It happens. Cool ride. A Lotta fun. Get a couple fans to move some air around in there.
Race Cars are still Race Cars even on the return road, never lose site of that, stay focused until it's parked & turned off. Sorry about the damage, Love that Hot Rod yours.😎👍
Blasphemi is probably the most blursed car and adventure I watch. It's like those TV shows where everything has been going well for too long and you just know the conflict/problem is coming soon.

That Grand National has one of my MAF pipe kits on it. Always neat to see things I've built out in the wild.
(and that horn button isn't stock :) )
Any body else miss that Mike took a sip of his beer without the effing can open?! Rookie move.... thats a solid too many beers before the camera got rolling and forgor he had a few!
Love from Australia dude!!!!
Brother this series of video was awesome thank you for doing this and letting us see. I do hate that the front end got hurt but like you said you're going to fix it anyway so that's a great thing I can't wait to see what you guys do with this car!!
I like how you had the cam at the starting line , 👍👍👍
It's always a great feeling to complete a drag & drive event, even when something bad happens after it's official.
All of these cars are equipped with " ODR" on demand rubber !!!
Love it.
That station Wagen the way it twisted like that twisting the fram. I like when the whole front comes end comes off the ground not just one side
Finnegan actually replies to comments! Boss move from a genuine dude...
i love the comments!
@@FinnegansGarage Dude, you just made my year. Best day not at work EVER!
@@Blowinshiddup no problemo.
By my standards, mistake-free is an impossibility - so, congrats on the huge success!😅
Looking forward to seeing Blasphemi evolve yet further, especially now that the engine is [presumably] solid.
1:15 In this business, that is what we call foreshadowing...
You will have it fixed it no time. Keep on keeping on buddy. Blasphemi is so badass
Finnegan!
Finnegan is enthusiastic and personable as always. Ends as normal.
Your attitude at breaking stuff is great.
Im proud of myself for staying half as positive as you when i break my car everytrip to the strip.
It's easier to have a positive attitude when every broken thing is a business expense! Lol
Why can't we be at home doing our own stuff like this as well as talking smack here when we put them away for the night..?
13:29 SRC Billy’s camero looking snazzy. Little disappointed it’s turbo and not procharger but should be fun
Still a great experience! Learned a lot about the car. Will definitely do better in the future! 🙌
What an arduous struggle.
Race Cars are still Race Cars even on the return road, never lose site of that, stay focused until it's parked & turned off. Sorry about the damage, Love that Hot Rod yours.😎👍
We'll have SMILEY FACES along with YOU DUDE ! Thanks
Because Road Kill ! Lol . Nice job . Can't wait to see you back out their .
Blasphemi is probably the most blursed car and adventure I watch. It's like those TV shows where everything has been going well for too long and you just know the conflict/problem is coming soon.
Overall a good week. Thanks for sharing
BTW: Coolant temperature matters. Temperature of the blower case doesn't.
Mike your so blessed, I have always wanted to do a power tour. I’m building a 72 Charger Rally with a 512 six pack with a Fi Tech six pack on top and a Strange 60 and cal tracks out back. I’m 71 years old now so I better get busy. Ps I met you and friburger at Turners auto wrecking in Fresno when you picked up the Old GMC
P/U on road kill
