Thank you SO MUCH for including the 5:54 part!!! This part let me know that this controller does not have "analog stick clipping to axis" issue every other telescopic controller has! Nobody, nobody ever bothers to actually demonstrate how inputs register and fills their video with gameplay clips but YOU. Out of dozens of so-called "review"s out there, yours was the only one I needed. ❤️❤️❤️

You can use a case if you shave off that rubber padding on the usb side. I can even use wired headphones because my phone has top side port. I just add a small block of rubber in-between so it doesn't clamp only on the audio jack.

GameSir X2 is quite good. It's the first controller (seriously) that can stay with me over 3 months without having issues. There were a bunch of controllers that got drifted just even 2 days after uses.
Though, I personally have my own weird issue with it. When you hold-down a button (A B X Y L R etc.) and then press select (G button), that button becomes "turbo mode" which can ruin my game.
For example, Devil May Cry 3. Regulary I hold L1 button to charge the DT explosion then press Select to taunt enemies which will refill DT gauge. But with GameSir X2, L1 becomes turbo mode, ruins my tactics (Dante keeps activate / deactivate his Demon form, loses energy, waste of DT gauge).
I hope that later models don't have this but have no idea how to make sure ...

I've currently got a Kishi V1 and what made me pick that over any of the Gamesir controllers was the analog triggers as well as the compact nature of the V1. Now that there is a version of the Gamesir with analog triggers I'm wondering how the X2 Pro stacks up against both the V1 and V2 Kishi in terms of comfort, the feel of the face buttons, joysticks and the analog triggers.

    • @tommy6742
      @tommy6742 Рік тому +3

Well the shape of the x2 pro is no different than the x2. In terms of comfort I can personally tell you the Kishi V2 is more comfortable for long gaming sessions as someone who had swapped from the x2 with the updated dpad to the kishi v2. You can grip on to the Kishi V2 controller with your ring finger towards the bottom of the controller where there's a contour whereas there isn't a spot for your fingers to grip to on the X2 besides the the controller just sitting on your fingertips, in order to grip on to the x2 you would have to press into the side of the controller with your palms and forcing your middle finger onto the black rubber grips of the controller as if you were trying to pinch the controller with your middle finger and palm. There's also a huge difference in weight between the controllers and that your hands get tired much faster if you are playing while laying down on your back with the x2.

I have this and the Kishi V1 and I find the x2 pro quite uncomfortable if I'm honest. I find it hard to find a comfortable position for triggers, sticks and back buttons at the same time because it's quite small do not too much to hold on to, particularly on the right hand. Kishi is MUCH more comfortable because it's more substantial size gives it more to hold on to and because there's no back buttons, there's no need to have to consider positioning for those. But then I miss the back buttons too so hard to choose a winner between the 2.🤷🏻‍♂️

I have the Usb-c Gamesir X-2 and the Razer Kishi. I ended up grabbing the former because I use a fold 3 and didn't want to mod the controller. I want to like the X2 more, but I need to remap the buttons for remote play and don't trust the app (it has weird app permissions I didn't feel comfortable with). This one is pretty tempting if I don't need to use the app. The fact it already has an Xbox setup is promising

I just bought a Kishi V2, and the experience is just okay. Not worth the price to me for the feeling of the switch style thumbsticks. And Razer so far doesn't seem keen to implement community feedback and update the firmware. Curious how this stacks up since it seems to have better thumbsticks and analogue triggers.
Also the Kishi V2 just doesn't work with Mantis Gamepad reliably whereas my 8bitdos work fine. Maybe Gamesir has better compatibility here too?

I'm still trying to find the perfect controller for the Surface Duo 1. I think that may be the best phone for emulation out here. A great aspect ratio per screen, plus you can actually play DS and 3DS games with dual screens. But, the USB C port is horribly located, unfortunately. It's just north of the hinge and so USB C controllers tend to have the majority of the phone balanced below the controller. It's not a massive problem, it's only inconvenient since all of those systems generally had the controls on the bottom half. The other issue is when opened the Duo is incredibly thin and so typically gets very little support from the controller itself. Maybe this, with a little modifying of the front facing backplate, can alleviate that. Great review, as always.

If you're looking for a controller that plugs directly into, and wraps around, your phone. • @mattdavis9601

Yes. DraStic and Mupen64 both can use your phone's vibration motor for rumble if your controller lacks it. It works fine; admittedly my Moto makes more noise than actual vibration, but that's not the fault of the emulators. Other than NDS and N64, none of the other systems I emulate semi-regularly had rumble to begin with, so this is pretty much all I can tell you.

Google Play version of the app doesn't work. Had to download from their website. When I did one of the permissions it asked for was to "Manage all files"
    Sounds pretty suspicious to me

As a Samsung Galaxy fold future user I would love to see the input on the left side for the USB C so the screen can fold upwards instead of down........

The existing X2 Type-C controller has the connector on the left side. Of course, that one doesn't have the new features of this controller, so I guess it's pick-your-poison regarding what is most important.

You can just get the cheaper non pro x2 controller without the analog triggers which has the usb c plug on the left.

Just get a Bluetooth gamepad like the nancon mg-x or mg-x pro , moga xp7-x plus plus they use Bluetooth , meanwhile the gamesirx2 pro will use your phones battery to stay powered which would be less gaming time as well as less battery life.

@@kdubspencer3390 many ppl prefer usb connection to have no input latency meanwhile bluetooth devices can have input latency to as much as 50ms in some cases...bluetooth connection also drains battery power...
Not having to remember to recharge a bluetooth controller or the bluetooth controller dying on you mid gameplay session is a bonus with direct usb connection controllers...
There's also the issue of not being able to charge your phone at the same time with using a bluetooth controller meanwhile usb controllers have a passthrough port to charge your phone...

@@tommy6742 yeah I get the latency concern which is why I originally went with a type gamesirx2 but moved on to Bluetooth because the. Gamepads have a about 20-30hrs on a single charge and I have a z fold so my USB port is above the gamepads height so I still have access to charge . And all Bluetooth gamepads have a battery indicator and a type c port so you can charge it while you play so the only slight benefit I get from a type c port is slightly better latency .

The GameSir app does suck as I have to set my phone in certain orientations in order to setup the mappings. Other than that, the controller in my opinion is pretty solid and is plug-n-play whenever I'm playing games that don't require mappings (I have to setup mappings for Genshin so it's a bit annoying just that first time).

Just received a gamesir X2 pro today and everything was going great until calibration. Calibration broke the triggers...
    Here's what I have tried, using a Samsung S21FE
    1. Calibrated as manual (slowly pressing triggers) - with GameSir app and without, with phone plugged in and without (powered by pass-thru usb-c )
    2. Mapped RT to back button and start calibrating holding back button and select, tried again with other back button, and tried again with LT trigger instead
    3. Used another phone (Pixel 3) and tried the above steps
    4. Reinstalled all firmwares 129.24, 129.23, 129.22 and tried above steps
    5. Cry
Have scoured the web and there are 4 other cases, so it most likely is a faulty unit. Funny thing is that the LT still works to initiate calibration (SEL+LT).
