Nice video, super nice griptape job and didn't expected the fiberglass in that deck! After the first wave of surfskates, LY brought the "Surf-life" surfskate with a similar to the Ditch-life, that yeah, it's the best shape in the line up for surfskating probably ;)
@@LDPizza tbh, I wanted it to be that way, the Surf-Life seems very flat, uses cheaper construction and is more expensive in my area :D I love the graphics tho. I'm gonna send you something interesting on Instagram, in regards to griptape;)
@@skate-horizons I goes on sale from time to time, LY "Surf cruisers" didn't have a commercial success, but as a pumpable cruiser system, they are indeed spot on! The Surf Life is quite rockered indeed, but yeah, full maple construction
@@MilesFazio I mean they are short cruisers with really narrow RKP trucks, they will be fun and extremely turny :D I guess they will be a little much in the beginning but very fun once you get used to them?
Yo Michael, another great video. Really interesting content about tinkering around and a nice introduction to the not so well known qualities of that deck. Personally I would love to see more folks using rubber griptape like DKL's or Cream Grip Tape. Those work equally as well but without the abrasive qualities to skin or clothes when riding barefoot or carrying it under your arm or strapped to your backpack. Also would be interesting to see you experiment with your already modded Bears Gen6 RKPs - I guess you can call them "Beer Gen6"!? :D If those are not surfy enough just try and put that >10° soft rubber wedge on front and rear truck and see how you like it. I highly recommend to try it out ;) Whatever experiment and testing you will do next, I am looking forward to it!
@@joemcguts1962 interesting, heard good stuff from distance guys about using yoga mats under griptape for cushion. It's actually pretty great to have the bears on the Supersonic:D Be stoked, I have cool things in the making ;)
@@skate-horizons yoga mats under grip tape is very interesting - would be even more interesting to me how this would perform without any griptape. There are some pretty grippy mats but maybe too expensive to cut em up. Before I discovered the existence of the rubber grip tapes I cut up a 3M anti slip mat that was designed for boats, machines and what not. Actually equipped my soulboardiy with this kind of diamond patterned foam mat and it is an ABSOLUTE dream to ride barefoot. Anyways, I'm already stoked for your next content - as always. Your really bringing the tinkering details to the folks!
Cooles Video! Hast du auch mal überlegt die Trucks vom Pocket knife auf ein größeres Board zu schrauben ? Bei dem Gedanken bin ich gerade unterwegs aber hab kein anderes Board zur Hand dafür..

I used the Bear Banger "surfskate" truck on longer decks and I like it, it's a cross beween surfskating and ldp, not as surfy or as fast, but it accelerates quite quickly fat low speeds.
@@LDPizza Oh, how cool, you’ve already tried it out. Because exactly the feeling you describe is what I was hoping for! I guess we’ll have to buy another board.. Have you experimented with other bushings or have you only ridden stock ones?

Experiment with pocketknife front truck on thinner longer boards it can work pretty well.
Now you gotta try their UltraCarves.

I wonder why landyachtz wont sell the banger trucks separately. They would be pretty cool to experiment with for brackets and LDP stuff. 🤙
I would agree!
I think their longboards and cruisers are dope, but the surfskates are not there yet.
Give us something to experiment :D
